Combined with expanded compatibility with the latest media and compressed data formats and our intuitive media management interface, our new systems offer unparalleled freedom of choice.
WMA, MP3, and Smart File Management Play music stored in the popular MP3 (MPEG Layer-3) audio compression format or the new Windows Media Audio (WMA) the advanced format that delivers near-CD audio quality in only half the space of an MP3 file. Panasonic lets you do both! MP3 and WMA music files can be downloaded from online music stores via the Internet or "ripped" from your CD library. Then just create a custom disc of your favourite tracks by burning them onto a CD-R or CD-RW for easy loading in the Panasonic car audio system. Of course if you have our new iPod-ready system, just load your iPod and connect. Your CD-R or CD-RW can be packed with up to 20 CDs of songs, giving you access to a vast selection of music. The familiar PC-like interface of Panasonic's powerful file management system makes it easy to navigate through a maximum of 999 files and folders per disc. Navigation of the tree of folders and files is simple, and the user can instantly call up the display of ID tag information such as artist names and track titles for quick confirmation. The system also offers one-touch selection of six convenient Play modes: Random, Repeat, Scan, Folder Random, Folder Repeat, and Folder Scan.

more than where you are, where your destination is, and how to get there. It provides optimum routing for the dynamic road environment as well as access to a database of petrol stations, restaurants and other points of interest along the way.
Versatile Route & Destination Setting Panasonic navigation lets you set destinations by postcode, and even plan multi-destination routes. And for quick selection and recall of destinations, the "Marked Point" function lets you organise and even assign names or icons to as many as 100 points on the map, and the system automatically saves the "history" of your 100 most recent destinations for easy recall. Optimized route planning for up to 5 "via" points is another example of how the versatile interface makes navigation so easy. TMC Dynamic Response Combining navigation with real-time traffic information from the Traffic Message Channel (TMC) system*, Panasonic provides valuable intelligence and plots the safest and quickest course to your destination around traffic problems. To mark the start of a new millennium, Panasonic introduced the CN-DV2000Europe's first DVD car navigation and AV entertainment system. This year, the Panasonic line is being expanded with the CN-DV2300, a dedicated DVD navigation system that boasts an entire new array of real-time support functions to make driving safer and easier.
14 European Countries on a Single Disc
Where will you spend your next vacation? With Panasonic DVD, just one disc is all you need to see detailed map data seamlessly extending over 14 countries in Europe. So you can cross boarders and decide your entire route without any need for disc swapping. Panasonic DVD navigation systems use the DVD-SDAL map disc by Navigation Technologies, the originator of the SDAL (Shared Database Access Library) format. Restaurants are grouped by genre (e.g. French, Italian, Mexican), and hotels and petrol stations are distinguished by chain names. So you can find what you want, when and where you want it. 2. 585,000 Individual Listings include 50,000 hotels, 45,000 car parks, 64,000 petrol stations and 101,000 restaurants. 3. 41,000 European Postcodes (direct input) let you find a destination without needing to specify a city. This feature is ideal for specifying addresses, such as those of friends and relatives.

When searching a map for a particular destination, North Up is usually the most convenient orientation, while Head Up is easier to use when driving, because on-screen movement matches the actual movement of your car. The map display scrolls automatically as you travel. Map background colour can be set to green, beige, or black. You can even select different colours for day and night driving, and an automatic dimmer assures a night display that is easy on the eyes. 5. Clockan extremely precise clock indication based on GPS time data referenced to an atomic clock. 6. Vehicle Positionshows your vehicle's position on the map. 7. Direction of Destinationshows the direction of your destination, relative to your present location.

To accurately determine your vehicles position, Panasonic uses a hybrid system combining GPS and self-contained navigation methods. GPS depends upon signals picked up from three, four or more of the 24 GPS satellites orbiting some 20,000 kilometres above the Earth. Self-contained navigation uses a gyro-sensor and speed sensor to derive vehicle position when GPS satellite signals cant be picked up temporarily. By correlating such measured data with map database informationa process known as map matchingit is possible to show your vehicles location on a map display with a high degree of precision.
