Ratification/Approval of Financial Reports In conformity with provisions under the Public School Code and Series 700 of the Board Policy Manual, the Board at this time shall consider ratification/approval of current school district financial reports including the treasurers report, all of which have been provided to the Board in advance of tonights meeting and will be included in the official Minutes of this meeting. Ratification/Approval of Payment of Bills At this time, the Board shall consider ratification/approval of all the bills paid from the school districts funds since the last regular meeting of the Board on August 27, 2007. Authorize the Districts financing team composed of Public Financial Management, Inc., Financial Advisors, and King, Spry, Herman, Freund, & Faul LLC, Bond Counsel, to proceed with the refinancing of the General Obligation Bonds, Series of 2002, in fixed rate bonds, with a net minimum savings of $100,000 and to present to the Board on October 15, 2007, or some later date, a proposal for the purchase of the bonds.

Approve the family and medical leave act leave of Lisa Gassler, custodian, beginning August 20, 2007 to September 22, 2007. Hire Robert Weaver as a replacement custodian, with an initial assignment at the Nazareth Area High School, effective September 25, 2007, as per the terms and conditions of employment currently in effect between the Nazareth Area School District and the Teamsters Association. It is understood that employment is provisional until all required paperwork is received, based on the requirements of the Public Employee Relations Act and the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Accept the resignation of Robin Kately, cafeteria monitor, Shafer Elementary School, effective August 14, 2007. Approve the transfer of Kay Amberger, cafeteria monitor, from Bushkill Elementary School to a replacement associate teacher, with an initial assignment at Shafer Elementary School, retroactive to September 4, 2007, at a rate of $14.09 per hour, as per the terms and conditions of employment currently in effect between the Nazareth Area School District and the Support Personnel Association. It is understood that employment is provisional until all required paperwork is received, based on the requirements of the Public Employee Relations Act and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Approve Valerie Reynolds as a substitute teacher, with an initial assignment at Bushkill Elementary School, at a rate of $100.00 per day, retroactive to September 7, 2007. Accept the resignation of Joseph Rivera, mental health worker, Nazareth Area Middle School, effective September 22, 2007. Approve the military leave of absence for Ken Werkheiser, teacher, Nazareth Area High School, from September 10 to September 14, 2007. Approve the retirement of Victor Norton, food service preparer/helper, Nazareth Area Middle School, effective September 4, 2007. Hire Terah Richardson as a replacement associate teacher, with an initial assignment at the Nazareth Area High School, retroactive to September 14, 2007, at a rate of $14.09 per hour, as per the terms and conditions of employment currently in effect between the Nazareth Area School District and the Support Personnel Association.
