The new MX4 series creates a further efficient air conditioning solution with greater design flexibility, a higher connection ratio, a wider line up of outdoor unit, longer piping lengths. THE NEW ERA IN INDUSTRIAL AIR CONDITIONING
NEW MX4 SERIES URBAN MULTI R410A SYSTEM BY PANASONIC Panasonic has developed the new MX4 VRF Inverter System, a major improvement on the system used in recent years. There are 5 premises which reflect the continued major improvement of our system: extended design options, improved performance, whilst retaing low noise levels, ease of instalation and high reliability. Five premises that open up the doors to the future of industrial air conditioning. Panasonic is the refererence point.
THE PATH FOR PANASONIC INDUSTRIAL AIR-CONDITIONING
MX4 INVERTER HEAT PUMP ALLOWS FAR MORE FLEXIBILITY + System Capacity is increased 12.5% from 5~54 HP. + Up to 64 indoor units can be connected, a 33% increase on the MX3. + It can be used to cool or heat from a single system + Control of up to 64 units with just one outdoor combination. + A broad range of capacity from 5 to 54 HP, in increments of 2 HP. + Customer design requirements either High COP or minimum footprint. + Up to 200% connection ratio, allowing cooling to be switched from one side of a building to the other to combat localised heat gains caused by morning or afternoon sunshine.

REDUCED REFRIGERANT VOLUME Reduction in the total amount of refrigerant throughout the circuit. The adoption of the new R410A refrigerant gas, together with the optimisation and reduction of pipe diameters, makes for a major reduction in the volume of the whole circuit.

ANTICORROSIVE TREATMENT The special anticorrosive treatment of the heat exchanger offers a 6-fold resistance to saline corrosion and/or acid rain. The lower part has a stainless steel plate to afford the unit additional protection.

CLEANER PRODUCTION, GREATER DURABILITY AND RECYCLABLE MATERIALS The RoHS Directive came into force across Europe from July 2006. The Directive bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than set levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium and both polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants. All Panasonic VRF products comply with this regulation.

The inclusion of a capacity priority setting, as in conventional systems, ensures that sufficient capacity is available when absolutely necessary. The personalized Mode remains enabling the user to choose operating mode activation and deactivation time. (An external adapter is required for the outdoor unit plus a timer). IMPROVED NOISE REDUCTION To continue the reduction in sound levels the MX4 series has a quieter compressor operation of 5 dB from the previous system; Improved sound insulation performance giving a 3 dB reduction due to 200% more sound insulation. Finally a masking fan control ensures quiet operation year-round even at night; resulting in the compressor noise not being audible even during fan control.

DOUBLE BACKUP IN OUTDOOR UNITS The conventional VRF or water systems require an expensive and bulky stand-by unit to prevent an emergency shutdown in the event of a system malfunction. On the other hand, with the UM R410A system the fault only affects one part of the system, not all of it. If one of the three compressors of an outdoor unit malfunctions, one of the remaining compressors will start to work in emergency mode. Moreover, if in a twin or triple system has a fault in one unit the others will work in emergency mode until the fault is repaired.

NEW AERODYNAMIC FAN AND COIL GRID These new elements achieve lower noise in large-volume fans, and offers a compact cover design along with the compressor technology.
R410A REFRIGERANT A refrigerant with ZERO ozone depletion potential, as it does not contain chloride. R410A is a new mixture of refrigerant that exhibits superior safety characteristics. Even with a zero ozone layer depletion potential, the R410A offers a better performance that the conventional R22. SMART CONTROL PROVIDES GREATER COMFORT An electronic expansion valve using a PID control continually adjusts the refrigerant volume to respond to load variations in the indoor units. Therefore, the VRF system maintains comfortable ambient temperatures at a virtually constant level without the typical variations in temperature of ON/OFF control systems.
