The Cumulus version 8.0.2 is an update that improves all Cumulus products, including Single User, Workgroup, Enterprise, HELIOS Companion and the Cumulus Web clients. With this release, Cantos Cumulus is now more stable and efficient across all platforms for which it is developed. For details concerning the bugs, which have been fixed with this release, please refer to the following list. ADDITIONAL NOTE: Additional modules created with the Cumulus SDK 7.0 could not be loaded with Cumulus 8.0 or later. If you rebuilt such modules with the Cumulus SDK 8.0 or later, they can be loaded. Note that an updated Cumulus SDK is now available. Please contact Cantos CDP team. Description

Client Client
HELIOS Filter now supports the "Number Of Pages" field. Server Console and HTML Remote Admin now use the same wording for the Server cache settings. Creating and editing user comments: Clients who have the create permission can only create user comments and edit the text initially. Once the comment has been closed, they are not allowed to modify the text. User comment frames in a rotated preview stay where they are after deleting one comment. The Add Catalog to Server process will no longer add the file extension.ccf automatically. Deleting "Record and Asset" of a cataloged OPI-Asset no longer results in an unexpected quit of the Client application. When importing categories the categories are now correctly written into the "Categories" record field of existing records. The Client application no longer unexpectedly quits when checking out assets with a sidecar file. After performing "Transform JPEG Original" for Vault assets, the asset record is now updated and the asset correctly checked in.

Deleting more then one record in the version history window no longer causes the Client application to quit unexpectedly. Undoing a checkout for an asset with a sidecar file no longer causes the Client application to quit unexpectedly. Importing from XML, the value of the "Rating" field is captured now. Office Open XML and PowerPoint format indices are now correct and show the correct Properties dialogs. Drag & drop for Vault hosted assets works properly now. Vault assets are also dropped into the target folder. Now the PowerPoint AssetStore always creates slides as well as records of slides and the PowerPoint filter creates thumbnails properly while cataloging on Windows. It is possible now to create the three default Master categories ($Sources, $Keywords, $Categories) again if they were deleted. Dropping a record in a collection no longer changes the item order; the sorting stays as it was set. After moving records the selection is updated properly now. The Windows-Explorer and Finder context menu function "Add to Cumulus Catalog" now works properly for Cumulus 8. While scrolling in Report view updating works properly even if the Record View Set contains Label or Rating fields with multiple lines configured. When opening the User Live Filter for the first time it opens expanded now. The User Live Filter pane no longer collapses when you click on the top most item of a list or delete a condition. In Fullscreen Preview the multi page navigation commands of the Context menu are correctly enabled now. In Fullscreen Preview the command "Assign Metadata from Template." is only available via the Info window and no longer via the context menu. Applying Metadata to a rotated preview panel will no longer reset the rotation. In Info window/view the contents of the "Original Asset Reference" is now correctly updated and displayed for all assets. Asset Handling modules (e.g. Filters) that are not available are now listed and displayed in italics when configuring an Asset Handling Set. User Live Filter for the "Catalog Name" field no longer results in an error. Report View now shows label color as background for an item only if this option is activated in the Preferences. Now the Delete dialog of the User Live Filter displays User filters only and the Delete dialog of the Find dialog displays usual queries only.

The cut & paste function now pastes the record without showing any errors. Assets are now properly cataloged when they are dropped on a catalog category. Changing the record field used for the Calendar pane works properly now. TIFF Filter now also updates the TIFF Copyright field and not only the IPTC and/or XMP Copyright field. When deleting a record Cumulus now checks for alternate or variant master and allows aborting deleting the record and its related records. Parameters dialog of the Watermark AsserProcessor now enables/disables the scale image parameters correctly in all cases. Now the user can switch to Preview View even if the collection is empty or no record selected. If no record is selected but the collection is not empty, the first record will be displayed. The Cumulus Metadata module now writes correct field values of custom fields to TAG files even if the catalog contains more fields with the same internal name. Asset cross references are now set properly even if the asset was ignored by duplicate check (e.g. images from slides of a PPT document). Record can now be deleted without problems even if the field Related Sub Assets is not included in the catalogs record fields. A previously pressed Cancel key does not influence a later collecting of item data when dragging records. All records that dropped a category will be assigned. After applying a workspace the formerly selected record is the selected one again. Bulk Edit now uses the last selected record pane for applying changes. Closing a sub pane and then calling a workspace that opens a sub pane again no longer causes the application to quit unexpectedly. Closing a collection window which is receiving update messages no longer causes the application to quit unexpectedly. PNG filter now creates a thumbnail/preview even if the file does not end correctly. Bulk Edit now handles categories correctly. The values for user comment field "Author" are now stored again correctly. The IPTC filter no longer reads wrong date field values (e.g. "Release Date", "Date Sent" & "Reference Date") if the year is in the future. ZIP AssetStore does no longer create a category for compressed SCORM archives.

Now the Record Name field is filled while cataloging in a catalog that was migrated to Cumulus 8. Using "New Collection"->"From Selection" and some records are selected in the Collection Basket pane no longer causes the application to quit unexpectedly. Now all custom fields are displayed in Info window/view of a multi catalog collection. In Full Screen Preview the Rating field in the toolbar is updated now when going to next image. The application no longer unexpectedly quits if a Record View Set contains a custom binary field. User Setting "Print Entire Assets as Thumbnails" when printing with "Current RVS" is no longer ignored. The information pane for more than one selected record does no longer overwrite existing metadata. It shows the merge dialog instead. Now very long pop up menus are supported (e.g. for selecting Metadata Templates in the Metadata Editor or IPTC Info window). Record search queries based on the Label or Rating field (enum/string list values) are now also properly saved on Mac OS X. The transparency background grid is now drawn in Fullscreen Preview on Mac OS X. Now it is possible to shutdown or reboot a Mac OS X machine when the Cumulus application is running. Now it is possible to drag & drop all selected records from one collection window to another if an assets reference could not be resolved. Client on Mac OS X no longer unexpectedly quits after choosing a Record View Set that was directly opened before. The autocataloging progress dialog is now initially shown in front of the Collection window. The record navigation with Page Up, Page Down in Fullscreen Preview which shows a Direct Show Movie works properly now. When opening Fullscreen Preview with more than one panel and the first panel shows a "Direct Show" preview, the context menu opens only once now. The Helios Companion option now uses a serial number in the correct product range to allow the CJC access code to work. Explicit catalog migration no longer disables Journaling. Explicit catalog migration no longer renames the catalog name to the name of the old source catalog file name with the file extension.ccf. The.ccf extension is truncated from the catalog name. User Manager now properly checks for $UserAdmin permission. The User Live Filter query and the view permissions of the current user are correctly used for the category assignment statistics now.

Server

User Live Filter no longer lets the server hang even if the values are in a specific range. After deleting records with a 7.6.1 Client connected to a Cumulus 8 Server the new collection is properly displayed now. ODBC Database engine is now available in the Client even if connected to a Cumulus 8 Workgroup Server. Windows Server no longer unexpectedly quits when trying to get the AFP information of a parent directory. Handtool in zoomed preview is now working properly in the Single User application. Closing the collection window no longer quits the application unexpectedly. Editing user comments in preview is now possible even when using a Workgroup edition with the option Extended Permissions. Internet Client Pro now checks the serial number for read only access correctly. The list of available Record View Sets is now updated after adding or removing a catalog from or to a collection. ICP interprets individual record permissions correctly now. Category search now interprets the User Settings option Category Search also Finds Records of correctly and will find the assigned records as defined. The feature "user must change logon at next login" works properly now, even if the next login is performed over WPP/ICP.

SDK SDK SDK SDK SDK SDK Cumulus Java Runtime and Cumulus Java SDK installer installs again to /usr/local (Darwin and Mac OS GUI installers). MultiCatalogCollection.setSorting (null) now sets the collection to free sorted instead of throwing an exception. Pixmap.createAsJPEG() works properly now even if the Pixmap was created using Pixmap.createFromAsset(). CJC call Asset.convert() now uses the connection data of the session also in the Cumulus Tool. Server.getCatalogDescription now returns the requested language. CategoryItem.getNumberOfAssignedRecords() supports the FindFlag.SEARCH_CATEGORIES_USE_USER_SETTINGS now.
