Nice Blue Ray player I have found this Panasonic DMP-BD80 to be a very good player for non blue ray movies.

Overall, I really like this player. The long load times are annoying. Beautiful Bluray player though DOES NOT come close to solving my original problem of only wanting to have one machine connected to the TV and receiver...

Bought for use with a HDMI 1.1 TV and receiver with no HDMI inputs (the backwards compatibility part - this is over $5K worth of AV equipment).

Panasonic DMP Bd80 After many weeks of research, reading reviews and talking to sales etc.... this player is outstanding for the price. Panasonic DMP-BD80 This is my first Blu-Ray player, so I have nothing except my regular DVD player to compare against.

Wall ovens
Convection models use a fan to circulate hot air throughout the oven, speeding up roasting times. That feature is available in wall ovens costing as little as $1,100. But dont pay more for multiple fans. Covered baking elements (under the bottom of the oven) simplify cleanup and dont take up space. Full extension racks on smooth ball-bearing glides and clear oven-door windows make checking on foods easier. Many cooktops now come with ultra-high heat, useful for searing, stir-frying, and heating large quantities. Smooth glass tops, available on electric or gas models, are sleeker and easier to clean. For electrics, dual or triple elements let you switch from a large, high-power element to a small, low-power element contained within it. On gas cooktops, continuous grates make it easier to slide pots between burners. Headphones come in many types and styles, ranging from $10 earbuds for an MP3 player to studio-grade audiophile models costing more than $500. Active noise-canceling headphones use electronic circuitry to mute unwanted sounds.

Samsungs HT-BD7200 (shown), $700, is a stylish 2.1-channel system with wall-mountable speakers. It has an integrated Blu-ray player, plus access to Netflix online movies and Pandora Internet radio. For surround sound, consider the Onkyo HT-S5200, $495, and Yamaha YHT-591, $600, which topped our Ratings. Neither has a disc player.

Very good sound and excellent active noise reduction make Panasonics RP-HC55 headphones (left), $60, a great choice for travelers or commuters. Grados SR60i on-ear model (right), $80, offers a taste of audiophile-quality sound without a high-end price tag.

Full description

PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus is a high quality image-processing technology developed by Panasonic to precisely process each pixel of the Blu-ray Disc video signal in the vertical direction. It reproduces color data with twice the accuracy of conventional systems to keep colors faithful and sharp. Panasonic's developed high-precision 4:4:4 signal technology also processes each pixel of the Blu-ray Disc video signal in the horizontal direction, to complement vertical direction processing. When viewed on a Viera high-end model, which features 4:4:4 signal compatibility, it recreates images with the original film quality to further enhance movie enjoyment. Because these models are compatible with the Viera Cast function, you can access YouTube, Picasa, and other Internet sites from the special Viera Cast screen. YouTube lets you watch the newest video clips, and Picasa lets you view Web-based photos. You can also check weather and stock information on other sites. The Blu-ray player features decoders that are compatible with all of the latest 7.1-channel surround sound formats used by the Blu-ray Disc standard. The 7.1-channel analog signal converted by the 192kHz D/A converter is transmitted in high quality. This signal can be connected to a receiver that does not support HDMI.
