Step by step Instructions - Panasonic (here: DMR-EX85, works also with different dvd players) made Regionfree with NoviiRemote 4.1.25 and MDA II

On your PC

copy and paste the following hex code to the program through which you synchronize your pda with your pc. you will need the code in your pda later on. The code is: "0010 0ace"

On your PDA

1)Click on Options and choose Add New Device
2)Choose Install codebase from IR archive and click Next
3)Select DVD/DVD-R and click Next
4)Select Panasonic and click Next
5)Select codebase called Panasonic 1
6)Select the skin and click Next
7)Select the pattern and click Next
8)Choose the first radio button and click Next

9)Click Finish

10)The easier part is now finished
11)Click Options and choose Setup
12)Choose the DVD Panasonic 1 codebase and click Edit
13)Click on New in the upper-left corner of the screen
14)Choose Send IR Signal from dropdown list and then click on New
15)Click on More Names. button
16)Enter a custom name xF2
17)Choose xF2 from the list and press OK

18)Click on Hex button

19)Import the hex code. The easiest way to do this is to copy and paste the code from the beginning of this document and synchronize it to your PDA. You could probably also type it in, but it's way too long.

20)Click OK

21)Press OK
22)You have now created a new button called xF2. You can move it around with your stylus so it doesnt overlap with any other buttons.
23)Click New in the upper-left corner again to create a new button. You are going to use this one for starting the macro, which means that you won't have to do a thing except for pressing one button when unlocking your device.(Sorry, no picture here) 24)In the dropdown list, choose Execute Macro and click New
25)Call the Macro RCE and press OK

26)Click IR

27)Choose the OK IR command from the list and press OK Then add another command and another.
., until you have the same list as the one on the picture below. Then click OK

28)Click OK

29)Click Exit in the upper-right corner of the screen.
.and click Yes to confirm the changes you have just made.
30)NOW, THE BIG MOMENT HAS FINALLY COME Turn on your DVD player and make sure there is no dvd inside. Hold the remote aproximately 1-3 ft (30 100cm) away from the player. Press the RCE button and wait a moment. The player should respond somehow. Some types restart or just go to standby. The easiest way to check that your player is really regionfree is to insert some dvds from different region than your is. Troubleshooting: Make sure that the hex code from step #19 is correct. Try to adjust the distance betwen you and the player.
