I wouldn't have minded that, but there's one really annoying feature: when the CD finishes my Panasonic switches back to TV, which given the relative volume levels and program quality typically results in something horrible blaring out of my loudspeakers as soon as the music finishes.
If it's like mine, it won't do that has long as you have a programmed recording, in which case it goes to the grey screen. Even if there's nothing you want to be recorded, it's easy to program a dummy recording up to a month hence, which will ensure that you can use the machine for playback only without being bothered by the broadcasts until you want them.
