| I purchased 6 of these for my technicians to use. Hands free operation in a noisy environment while they walk, climb ladders and use hand tools. Love this headset! It is super comfortable and makes it so easy to be on the phone while getting other things done... Just bought 2 more of these. The first broke after 4 years but I like them so much I keep buying. Very clear on both ends. Keeps one ear free. Bought this headset last week. Very happy so far. Clear Reception","Durable | |

| I would not buy a Panasonic KX-TCA60 Headset again. I expect phone headsets to last longer than five months before failing like this one did. | |

KX-FP300E 2.3.3.5. Analog Board Section (Change from original page 75.)
This chapter provides the testing procedures required for the analog parts. A signal route to be tested is determined depending upon purposes. For example, the handset TX route begins at the handset microphone and signal is output to the telephone line. The signal mainly flowing on this route is analog. You can trace the signal with an oscilloscope. The signal flow on each route is shown in the Check Sheet here. If you find a specific problem in the unit, for example if you cannot communicate with the H/S, trace that signal route locally with the following Check Sheet and locate the faulty point.

1. Circuit Operation The signal wave from of each section is indicated below. Signal (low level section) input to pin 29 of gate array IC5 is read out at the CPU and judged as a bell.

6.7.5. PULSE DIAL CIRCUIT
1. Circuit Operation In the OFF-HOOK Condition, the photocoupler PC3 pin (2) is a low level by the IC5 pin (2), and the PC3 pin (4) is a low level if Q3 is ON. During the pulse dial operation, the PC3 pin (2) becomes a high level by the IC5 pin (2), so that the PC3 pin (4) becomes a high level. If Q3 is ON, then the line is ON and vice versa. The high/low control for the IC5 pin (2) makes the pulse dial operation possible. IC5 (2) High Level PC3 (2) High Level PC3 (4) High Level Q3 TEL LINE
6.7.6. TAM INTERFACE CIRCUIT This circuit is to switch between FAX receiving and the external TAM's message recording automatically. This circuit
consists of an EXT. TAM OFF-HOOK detect circuit, monitor transformer, multiplexer, amplifer, and VOX detect circuit. For details, please refer to 9. TAM INTERFACE SECTION.
KX-FP300E 6.8. SPECIAL CIRCUIT ON THE ANALOG BOARD (Change from original page 158.)
6.8.2. HANDSET ALC (Auto level control) DETECTION
1. Function In some cases, it is a standard requirement that the sound level of the handset should be low when the circuit current is large (small line loss) and high when the circuit current is small (large line loss). This circuit detects whether the circuit current is large or small. Changes in the level are performed by the electronic volume in the analog G/A IC5. 2. Circuit Operation The circuit current flows to R51 when in OFF-hook states. If the current at both ends of R51 exceeds approximately 1V, Q9 turns on and PC7 also turns on. As a result, the comparator IC14-6 pin switches to a low level, and the IC14-7 pin and IC5-6 pin switch to a high level.

Sending Faxes Delayed transmission
(sending a fax at a specified time)
Using a built-in clock, this unit can send documents automatically at a specified time. This allows you to take advantage of low-cost calling hours offered by your telephone company. The delayed transmission can be reserved to take place up to 24 hours in advance.
Set the receive mode of the fax machine to the TEL mode (p. 70) or FAX ONLY mode (p. 74).
When you set the FAX ONLY mode, set the ring count in the FAX ONLY mode (feature setting #07) to 5 EXT.TAM (p. 75). The number of rings on the answering machine should be less than the FAX ONLY mode ring count so that the answering machine will answer a call first. Using the FAX ONLY mode will allow you to receive faxes if the answering machine is full.
Check the remote access code of your answering machine and program the same code into the remote operation ID of the fax machine (feature setting #12). See page 73.
Note: q Do not pause for more than 4 seconds during the greeting message. If a 4-second pause is stored in the greeting message, all incoming calls will be routed to the unit from the answering machine even while the greeting message is playing. q We recommend you keep the greeting message around 10 seconds long. If the greeting message is too long, some incoming fax calls may not be answered by the fax machine. q Every time the unit receives a document, a silent pause or fax tone may be recorded on the answering machine.
