KX-TA308 Telephone System
Improve the Lines of Communication in Your Home with a Panasonic KX-TA308 Telephone System
You have a thriving home business, two kids who love to talk on the phone, three telephone lines, two computers, CO based voice mail service and a fax machine. Needless to say, the lines of communication in your home are quite complex. Expressly designed to streamline home communications, a KX-TA308 System organizes your phone lines into a cohesive system and makes a host of advanced features available to each extension in your home.
This new, easy-to-install telephone system comes with a modular Plug-and-Play design using RJ14 plugs, and it has basic station programming done at the factory, so the system is basically ready to use right out of the box. With a KX-TA308 System all of your residential, home office and fax lines can be accessed from any system phone jack. You can make room-to-room intercom calls, forward your calls to an outside location, monitor a room, page all system extensions and more.
Big Features, Small Package
The KX-TA308 is a fully self-contained, non-expandable, 3 line x 8 extension Advanced Hybrid PBX phone system perfect for the average size home. This system contains many of the features of larger systems but in a smaller package. Built-in Call Waiting Caller ID, Door Phone/Opener Card and Message Waiting Notification for phone company voice mail service are just a few of the features available with the KX-TA308. The systems modular design also connects easily, without special hardware, to the KX-TA30820, KXTA30830 and the KX-TA30850 - three Panasonic phones made just for this system. In addition, the KX-TA308 system also connects to standard single line phone devices, such as modems, fax machines and telephones.
You Make the Call.
All three of the new Panasonic phones made for the KXTA308 system contain 12 flexible Central Office (CO) Feature Buttons that are preprogrammed at the factory for one-touch outside line selection and station intercom dialing. The KXTA30850 is a basic system phone with monitor speaker, the KX-TA30820 includes a speakerphone and the KX-TA30830 includes a speakerphone and a backlit single line LCD display. They all have a beautiful contemporary design, and all three models are available in either decorator white or charcoal black.
Easy to use. Hard to choose.

System Features
Room-to-Room Intercom
Finishing up some paperwork in your home office and need to find out if your child is ready for soccer practice? By using the room-to-room intercom feature, you can call them in their room and get the answer you need without leaving your desk. message is left on any one of the three outside CO lines, the large message-waiting LED will flash on each system phone and the associated outside CO line button will also flash. By simply pressing the flashing outside CO line button and the message button on any extension, the user can access their messages at any time. And, by preprogramming a local access number, up to 24 digits, the user can avoid having to manually dial the number every time they want to retrieve a message.
Auto Answer
This convenient option, for calls made from internal extensions only, lets the user answer a call instantly without picking up the receiver. When a call comes in, a beep will notify the receiving party and they can just start talking. This can be quite useful when the users hands are not free to handle the phone or push buttons.
Caller ID1
The KX-TA30830 has a backlit, single-line LCD display that can alternately display the name and number of the incoming call (if provided by the local phone company). It can also show the name and number of an incoming call, even while youre on another call.
Room Monitor
Allows you to silently monitor a room from any system phone in the house. The room being monitored must contain a proprietary system phone with a built-in speakerphone.
Door Phone & Door/Gate Opener
The KX-TA308 system has a built-in Doorphone and Door/ Gate Opener Adapter Card which will add security to your home. With these options installed, our Advanced Hybrid Telephone Systems can interface with one or two door intercoms and control one or two electronic door contact closures. If you have more than one door intercom, you can assign each a unique ringing pattern2 to help you distinguish which one was pressed. You can also use the adapter cards to remotely control any compatible devices such as an electric door strike for opening doors.

Installing Lightning Protectors
A lightning protector is a device to be installed on an outside (CO) line to prevent a dangerous surge from entering the building and damaging the equipment. A dangerous surge can occur if a telephone line comes in contact with a power line. Problems due to lightning surges have been steadily increasing with the development of electronic equipment. In many countries, there are regulations requiring the installation of a lightning protector. A lightning strike to a telephone cable which is 10 m {33 feet} above ground can be as high as V. This system should be installed with lightning protectors. In addition, grounding (connection to earth ground) is very important to protect the system. Station Hunting
If a called extension is busy, Station Hunting redirects the incoming call to an idle extension in the extension group. Idle extensions are automatically searched according to programming. Two hunting types are available as follows. Circular hunting: The extensions are searched one time in numerical order until an idle one is found. If all extensions are busy, a busy tone will be heard. If the calling outside (CO) line is assigned to DIL and all hunting group extensions are busy, the call will be forwarded within the group until an extension becomes idle. Terminate hunting: The extensions are searched from the destination jack until the call reaches the highest jack number in the group. If all higher number jacks are busy, the search will end and a busy tone will be heard. If the calling outside (CO) line is assigned to DIL and all hunting group extensions are busy, the call will be forwarded within the group until an extension becomes idle. One hunting type can be selected for each extension group. To leave the hunting group temporarily, use the Log-Out function. To rejoin, use the Log-In feature.
If the called extension has set Do Not Disturb, Call Forwarding or Log-Out, Station Hunting will skip the extension. However, Station Hunting will not skip the extension which receives the call rst, even if it has set Do Not Disturb or Call Forwarding.
