I purchased this tv in December of 2006 after days and days of researching the best of the best out there. Color and Clarity. Fine detail The stereo speaker quality could be better. The only improvement we would mention.

Panasonic TH-50PX60B - Excellent Value I have had this Plasma TV for over 2 years. panasonic plasma 37" sleek sexy and great picture...on dvds and most channels although some digital channels look quite pixelated ..

I have had this tv for 5 months and only been able to use it for 3 of the five, the other two waiting on Panasonic to fox it. I bought mine at Beach Camara. Big and inexpensive Does not work at all!

For a $3000.00 TV, this should have lasted far longer. One day just would not turn on, power indicator flashing 10 times. Great picture for 58 inch which are hard to f...  great picture for 720, nice hd. you need a good hd signal though broke after 3 years.

Panasonic TH-50PX60B - Excellent Value I have had this Plasma TV for over 2 years. Panasonic Purple Snakes I have read the reviews about the screen and after owning it for 4 months I have to say I am not altogether happy with it.

Disassembling front of the Panasonic SA-PM17

Tools used in this guide

This guide will show you the quickest way to remove the front of the device so you can get to deeper parts of the device.

Step 1 - Removing the front of the device
Using a philips screwdriver, remove the eight 9.5 mm screws on the left and right sides of the device and place aside.

Step 2

Remove these seven 11.5 mm screws and place aside.

Step 3
Lift the right side off of the device and place aside. Repeat for left side.

Step 4

Lift the top gently but firmly from the back of the device and allow to rest on the back without reattaching it. CAUTION: Do not pull the top too far as there are wires attached to it.

Step 5
Lift up gently on the tabs indicated to disengage them from the hooks holding them in place.

Step 6

Lift up the top while firmly sliding it towards the back of the device. CAUTION: Do not lift the top up too high as there are cords that need to be detached before the top can be removed. The next step is a zoom-in of the indicated area.

Step 7
Using forceps or fingers, remove the small black wire indicated. Grip the wire near its base and pull gently but firmly until it pops out of the slot.

Step 8

This step deals with the indicated area of the device. Using fingers or tweezers, lift the indicated tabs out until the cord's restraint looks like the final picture. Gently pull on the cord near its base until it comes free of the restraint.

Step 9
This step deals with the indicated area of the device. Lift the indicated tabs out until the restraint looks like the final picture. Gently pull on the cord until it comes free of the attachment. The top section of the device should now be free of the body. Place it aside in a safe place.

Step 10

This step deals with the indicated portion of the the device. Lift the indicated tabs out until they look like the final picture. Gently pull on the cord until it comes free of its restraint.

Step 11
This step deals with the indicated area of the device. Neither of the indicated cords have restraints on them like the previous ones. Simply use tweezers or fingers to pull firmly on the base of each cord until it comes free.

Step 12

This step deals with the indicated area of the device. Use tweezers or fingers and firmly pull straight out on the cord until it comes free.

Step 13
This step deals with the indicated area of the device. Using tweezers or fingers, lift gently on the tab indicated to free the front from the body of the device. Rotate device 180 degrees and repeat for other side. Rotate the front slightly forward to keep the tabs from re-engaging on their hooks.

Step 14

Wiggle the front gently while pulling it forward until it comes free of the body of the device.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Replacing the Panasonic SA-PM17 Tape Player Unit

This repair guide will show you how to replace the Tape Player Unit by tearing down the device to the point where you can take the unit out and put a new one in.

Step 1 - Tape Player Unit
Using a philips screwdriver, remove these eight 9.5 mm screws on the left and right sides of the device and place aside.

Step 2

Remove these five 11.5 mm screws and place aside.

Step 3
Lift the right side off of the device and place aside. Repeat for left side.

Step 4

Lift the top of the device gently but firmly from the back part until fully detached. Allow the top to rest on the back without reattaching it. CAUTION: Do not lift the top too far as there are wires attached to it.

Step 5
Lift up on the tabs indicated to disengage them from the hooks holding them in place.

Step 6

Lift the top up while firmly sliding it towards the back of the device. CAUTION: Do not lift the top too high as there are cords that need to be detached before the top can be removed.

Step 7
The second picture shows a close up of the region indicated in the first picture. Remove the small black wire indicated. Grip the wire near its base and pull gently but firmly until it pops out of the slot.

Step 8

This step deals with the indicated area of the device. Using fingers or tweezers, lift the indicated tabs out until the cord's restraint looks like the final picture. Gently pull on the cord near it's base until it comes free of the restraint.

This step deals with the indicated area of the device. Lift the indicated tabs out until the restraint looks like the final picture. Gently pull on the cord until it comes free of the attachment. The top section of the device should now be free of the body.

Step 10

Remove the four indicated 12.1 mm screws and place aside.

Step 11
This step deals with the indicated area. Using fingers or tweezers, pull the indicated latch to the right to disconnect the tape player unit from the top of the device. While holding the latch to the right, lift the unit up from the plastic. CAUTION: When the latch is disengaged, the tape cover may push out and force the rest of the apparatus to pop up. This is normal, but be careful that the tape cover does not pop out too quickly. NOTE: When placing this unit back on the device, you don't need to follow this step, you can simply push the unit into position and the latch will automatically snap into position.
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
