UP TO 2,048 GRADATION STEPS ADVANCED REAL GAMMA CONTROL 8.6 BILLION COLOURS: IMAGE BEAUTY BEYOND IMAGINATION
Featuring new refinements that improve the scene-adaptive sub-field control, the Advanced Real Gamma Control provides more levels of gradation in the darker parts of an image. Maximum gradation in darker image parts has been raised from the 1,024 steps of previous systems to 2,048 equivalent steps for outstanding detail. The result is a remarkably rich, expressive picture that excellently suits the human eye, which is more sensitive to changes in brightness level when viewing darker images.

Bright scenes are sharper and easier to see. Dark scenes benefit from deeper, crisper blacks. This circuitry automatically detects the input signal brightness level and adjusts the backlight accordingly in real-time. This is a dramatic improvement over conventional LCD TVs, which often suffer from insufficient maximum brightness and a lack of depth due to weak black reproduction. Active Light Control expands the dynamic range to 2.8 times the previous range. What's more, C.A.T.S. (Contrast Automatic Tracking System) automatically senses the ambient light conditions and adjusts the screen easier to see by brightening it when the room light is bright, and darkening it when the room light is dark.

This superb system brings together technologies created specifically for televisions and hi-fi sound technologies. The compact, ultra-slim speakers just 16 mm wide deliver the transparent high-frequency sounds that define truly superior audio. Bringing the speaker units closer to the front than in previous models also enhances their acoustic clarity. The rounded left and right woofer units are separately driven to produce a rich, robust bass. Despite their small size, these units fill the room with deep, wellbalanced bass sounds.
GENEROUS-HEARTED NEW REMOTE CONTROL
In accordance with Universal Design principles, this new Panasonic remote control features large, easy-to-see buttons and markings. The buttons used most often are larger than the others and grouped according to function. We also reduced the number of buttons, which made it possible to downsize the remote control and give it a shape that feels comfortable in the hand and easy to hold.

We are trying to eliminate these substances from all Panasonic products a few years prior to the date on which the RoHS Directive takes effect. The RoHS Directive Officially called the "Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment," the RoHS Directive bans the use of six substances (lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenals (pbb), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (pbde), and takes effect in July 2006.
