This has to be the sexiest portable CD player ever! At less than 15mm thick and sporting a brushed aluminium cover, the Panasonic SLJ910 not only looks good, but its also immensely practical and robust.
Being their range-topping model, Panasonic have gone all out to provide the SLJ910 with the best sound quality possible. S-XBS+ ensures a rich and deep bass response, with a high quality, 1-bit DAC and Panasonics, D-sound providing excellent resolution. To further enhance the sound, there is even a built-in equaliser with ve presets. Through the headphones, the SLJ910 offers uncompressed sound quality that totally eclipses the opposition. Dynamics are crisp, bass is strong, and theres a sense of realism whatever the music genre. The only way to get better sound on the move is by changing the headphones for a pair of small Sennheisers. As a further bonus, Panasonic also provide a docking station with built-in speakers. Whilst these are pretty lightweight in terms of bass, they are ideal for hotel and holiday listening, being less tinny than youd imagine for their tiny size. The docking station also has the added benet of charging the unit whilst its in place. A rechargeable battery is, of course, standard. MP3 portables may be all the rage now, but its portable players such as this that show just how good the format still is.
