I had been waiting to purchase a replacement for my 35mm equipment (sold a number of years ago when I bought a point & shoot digital camera). As a DSLR beginner, this camera fits all my use and give me a lot of fun. I bought this camera with 18-55 kit lens.

I took with my original Pentax lenses were underexposed a bit Auto, Program, Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, Manual, and Bulb exposure modes.

Perfect for Long Exposure The trigger lock is perfect for long exposure. The cable is a little short but still enough for most situation. Wired SLR Camera Cable I am very pleased with my purchase. Shipping was ok but the price could have been less. All in all services was good. Thanks!!

I am a long time Pentax user since the days of the Asahi body with screw mount lens and no light meter. With interchangeable lenses (supports most Pentax K mount lenses. I have had my *IstD for a couple months and have really enjoyed this camera.

I had a Pentax K1000 which is totally manual set camera. When I started to have problems with the light meter, I decided to go digital. Sure, the *ist D lacks many of the modern â€œgimmickyâ€ features, such as live view, face detection, AF tracking, smile shutter, etc. Very good camera, especially for analog Pentax cameras users with K,M lens. For beginners not recommended, rather for intermediates. Small, light.

As a DSLR beginner, this camera fits all my use and give me a lot of fun. Low price. Beautiful color on Pentax lens. Slow focusing. I had been waiting to purchase a replacement for my 35mm equipment (sold a number of years ago when I bought a point & shoot digital camera).

And featuring a PENTAX K lens mount for compatibility with most existing PENTAX 35mm format lenses and accessories. All protected by a super-rigid, black stainless-steel chassis. Portable and maneuverable, the *ist D is the ideal go-anywhere traveling companion for advanced amateurs and photography enthusiasts. This bundle includes PENTAX lens. The PENTAX smc P-DA J 16-45mm F4.0 ED/AL is recommended for use with digital cameras. It features a 3X zoom ratio with focal lengths covering ultra-wide angle to normal ranges, incorporates a high-refraction extra low dispersion (ED) glass element to produce a high-resolution, high-contrast image with true-to-life color rendition, and aspherical lens elements to help transmit the light more efficiently through the lens to the film.
