Great dvd for the money. I bought this DVD player for my bedroom, I like it. Works really well.I would recomend this to a friend. momoffive I purchased this dvd player after much research, but I have not had a good experience with it. It is extremely slow...slow to turn on...

It truly stinks. Yep. The other bad reviewers are not fibbing. Mine worked for about a year and now it makes a grinding noise.

Although the newegg site says the warranty is one year, the stuff inside the box says it is 90 days parts & labor. Player works very well. Plays every movie flawlessly. none

This is one of Philips lightweight and compact DVD players on the market. 1080p upscaling , light weight. Although the unit produces a good picture and generally works well, it has one fatal flaw. This DVD is very good result layer (movie or picture), slim, strong, and compatible with many media type (CD R, DVD R, etc.).

The Philips DVP3980 DVD Player caught my eye in a Sunday NY Times J&R advertising because it offered NTSC and PAL playback capability.

Bought one of these about a year ago. Occasionally had trouble with it hanging up, but pulling the plug would get it going again. We bought this player in Sept 2009 - it was great - or so we thought. I have had an amazing experience with this DVD player, I have two in my house.

Slow This product is extremely slow, it often takes 15-45 seconds to eject a disc or just open the tray.
