MP3-CD Playback Download MP3 songs from the internet on a PC and record them on a CD. This special "MP3-CD" can now be played on the Philips FW-M55 Mini System. One MP3CD can carry up to 12 hours of music. As the CD changer can be loaded with 3 CD's, one can enjoy 36 hours of uninterupted music listening! The FW-M55 is designed to playback MP3 audio recorded with a bit-rate (quality level) between 64kbps and 320kbps. The set will also handle variable bit-rate recordings. MP3 Audio MP3 Audio is an audio compression technique that significally reduces the size of an audio track (as recorded on a compact disc). MP3 has become a standard audio compression format used on the world wide web and enables music to be transferred quickly from one place to another. Everyone with a device (software program) that can decode MP3 music can enjoy MP3 Audio. MP3 Audio can be recorded in different quality levels. Common are quality levels between 64 kilobytes per second (low quality) and 320 kilobytes per second (high quality). For higher quality music, there is less audio compression and as such the total recording capacity on a disc or memory chip will be (5x) less. Sound Navigation The JOG SHUTTLE of this feature adds a new dimensions in fine-tuning the sound settings to suit your personal taste. 26-step Digital Sound Control The feature offers 26 different sound settings based on 6 basic settings : (CLASSIC - 1 setting, ROCK - 5 settings, VOCAL - 5 settings, TECHNO - 5 settings, OPTIMAL - 5 settings, JAZZ - 5 settings) 3-Step Dynamic Bass Boost (Beat, Punch, Blast) Bass reproduction is essential for deep and rich music. 3 Step DBB offers the optimal level for any kind of music. 2-Way Bass Reflex Speaker System Equipped with one 5 1/4" woofer, one 2 1/2" ferro-fluid cooled tweeter, 2-way enclosures feature a wider range of frequency response for greater listening pleasure. Oversized, MultiColor, Digital FTD Display This large display is easy to read at any distance with no distortion or distraction and the multi-color format makes it easy to recognize different functions at a glance. Direct Play Button Allows you to select and play any CD in the carousel by touching only one button. One-Touch CD Synchro Recording One button allows the cassette deck and CD player to communicate with one another to synchronize the start of a recording on an analog audio cassette deck with the start of a CD or a CD program. Pause Interrupts playback of a CD without returning to the beginning of the disc, so when play resumes, the music begins exactly where it stopped. Repeat track/disc/program Repeat your favorite track, disc or a program. Next/Previous Skip This two button feature offers you the opportunity to skip back to the previous track or skip up to the next track instantly.
