VidCom 30th-century S.L. 2008 Note: The length of the title in the timeline determines the speed of the roll. If you make the title in the timeline longer, it will roll more slowly. It is not strictly necessary to fade a roll title in or out as the title appears at the bottom of the video and rolls upwards until it has rolled through the entire image. After you have taken an important step it is recommended that you save the video project. To do this, select File/Save project in the menu bar.
Editing Existing Title Templates
First switch to Edit mode in the Show titles tab.
Each thumbnail shown in the album defines a title template. You can now select a title template by clicking on it and move it to the timeline (Title track) by keeping the left mouse button pressed (by drag and drop), and then edit it.
Move the cursor to the end of the title (the cursor symbol changes) and pull the title to the required length, keeping the left mouse button pressed.
Now right mouse click on the title, a drop-down menu appears. Select Go to Title Editor, the Studio Title Editor then opens, now you can change the title to meet your requirements.
Editing the title template First change the look by selecting the Text, keeping the left mouse button pressed.
Then select a new suitable look in the Looks tab by clicking on it.
The title immediately adopts the new look.
Now enter the text, e.g. Hiking, and change the Font to Trendy and the Font size to 99.
VidCom 30th-century S.L. 2008 Now align the title to the bottom of the picture within the red dotted border line (displays the image visible on HD TV). Now click on the title frame, the appearance of the frame changes, the title can now be positioned.
The title template currently used consists of several title levels, to move the title the title must be completely grouped. First move the title to its previous position. Then move the mouse outside of the complete title and gather in all the title levels, keeping the left mouse button pressed.
Click the Group tool below the Title Editor. The title is grouped.
Now click on the title frame and move it to the position you want, keeping the left mouse button pressed.
Now save the title in your project directory (e.g. D:\holiday2008\title). Use the function File/Save Title as in the menu bar, select the path and enter a file name. The settings for this title in the Studio Title Editor have now been completed. Finally, click OK, the title is adopted in the timeline and the Preview monitor.
Fading a title in and out Switch to the Show transitions tab to fade the title in and out. In this case, select 2D Transitions and use the transition Dissolve.
Now move the transition to the start of the title in the timeline, keeping the left mouse button pressed.
Move the cursor to the end of the transition (the cursor symbol changes) and pull the transition to the required length, keeping the left mouse button pressed. The fade in can now be seen in the Preview monitor. Click the Play button. If you are happy with the fade in of the title, now set the fade out. Here you proceed in exactly the same way. Now move the transition to the end of the title, keeping the left mouse button pressed, and move the cursor to the start of the transition (the cursor symbol changes). Pull the transition to the required length, keeping the left mouse button pressed.
The fade out can now be seen in the Preview monitor. Click the Play button.
A full-screen preview is also possible, to do this click on the button at the top right of the Preview monitor. The full-screen preview is now displayed on your PC monitor. Note: After you have taken an important step it is recommended that you save the video project. To do this, select File/Save project in the menu bar.

In this chapter the following important effects from the categories mentioned above are described: 1. Color Correction 2. Stabilize 3. Lens Flare 4. MultiLayer Mix 5. Videowall 6. Old Film 7.
