DVD navigation features valid only when connected to a touch panel display, are indicated with the touch panel ready logo.

DVD Navigation Guidance

With Pioneers DVD Cyber Navi units, you can choose from 4 guidance modes: Pioneers original Drivers View mode which shows a highly visual 3-D driving perspective; Map mode; Map/Arrow mode; and Street List mode new for 2003. All modes offer equally precise mapping and information data. Street List mode is created for touch panel display and shows a minimum of 2 arrows with the corresponding street names. In any mode, except Drivers View, you can opt for a more detailed map using the Automatic Intersection Zoom function. Another new feature you get when you combine your AVIC Cyber Navi unit with a touch panel display, is the Motorway Exit Number guidance: it facilitates motorway driving by indicating the next exit number to take. While you are driving, the touch panel stays interactive. All you need to do is touch an onscreen button or icon to retrieve extra information.
Built-in TMC (Traffic Message Channel)
Both of Pioneers new DVD Cyber Navi Units have a built-in TMC (Traffic Message Channel) receiver covering a 100 km radius. This means they can pick up and handle traffic reports better than ever. If your navigation unit gets word of an upcoming traffic jam or traffic event that could cause a delay, it offers you a selection of alternative routes circumventing the problem, so you can make an informed choice. A special menu function lists all the current traffic events in the area so you always know whats coming up.

The built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processor) offers powerful sound tuning features so you can adjust the sound stage to your personal taste. The Multi-channel Auto EQ feature tailors specific musical characteristics according to your cars acoustics and automatically fine-tunes across the entire frequency bandwidth range. Automatic Time Alignment makes sure you are set for a perfect listening experience: it automatically estimates the differences in delay from each speaker to the listening position and adjusts the speaker sound output timing accordingly so that the sound from each speaker reaches your ears at the same time.

Pure Sound Quality

Thanks to the 6-channel Burr Brown 24-bit DACs, gold-plated RCA terminals and oxygen-free RCA cables, the AVH-P7500DVD delivers superb quality audio performance, capable of reproducing the high fidelity sounds of DVD-Audio.
Anti-Glare, Low Reflection Display
The AGLR (Anti-Glare, Low Reflection) coating on Pioneer AV displays is an icon of unrivalled visual quality. The special coating absorbs light, diffuses sunshine and suppresses glare, resulting in a display that offers optimal image quality inside the car, regardless of how bright the weather is outside.
Touch Panel Display Operation
The AVH-P7500DVD and AVH-P6500DVD AV headunits both come with a fully motorised touch panel colour display. Its anti-glare screen surface is highly readable and thanks to Pioneer technology fingerprint resistant as well. With its easy-to-use interface, all you have to do is touch the screen to control your entire in-car system. To give AV commands, such as selecting a chapter of a DVD-Video movie or selecting a radio preset, simply push the corresponding onscreen button. The superfast, precision touch screen technology is also the perfect partner for a Pioneer DVD Cyber Navi unit. Searching for a destination or a POI (Point of Interest), or even confirming a re-routeing option, is simply done with the touch of a finger. Functional has never been this stunning.
Fully Motorised Display with Smart GUI and 10-character Sub-display
With its smart Graphical User Interface (GUI) and smooth motorised operation, Pioneers new touch panel display is right out of the movies. When not in use, it simply slides right back into the unit. Cool. You can easily adjust the viewing angle from 60 to 110 degrees; it will remember its previous position and return to it when reopened. When the display is closed, you can check the AV status on the 10-character sub-display. All audio, video and navigation settings even advanced sound adjustments, like DSP or Parametric Equaliser settings can be made using the screen. Not only is this practical, it is also safe while driving.

Win-Win Audio with WMA (Windows Media Audio)
An upcoming acronym in in-car entertainment today is WMA the music compression format developed by Microsoft. It uses the latest coding technologies to compress an original audio track, minimising file sizes while maintaining good audio quality even at rates as low as 64 Kb/sec. In subjective testing, it is widely agreed that at low bit rates, WMA offers better sound quality than MP3 recorded at the same data rates. This means that WMA allows you to put more files of a certain sound quality on a CD, or to put the same number of files but of a higher sound quality compared to MP3. It is also expected that the distribution of WMA format files over the Internet will become increasingly popular. Pioneers WMA products support all standard compression rates (48 Kbps ~ 192 Kbps) as well as the WMA text format*. Those familiar with WMA will be pleased to discover that Pioneers new WMA headunits** come equipped with a new CD mechanism that enhances the convenience of WMA playback. A double-speed CD player speeds up track access; extra-fast access to the disc is possible simply by turning off the WMA Text function. Play order is improved so that the tracks are played in a more logical order, folder by folder. Additionally, file navigation is enhanced so you can find the track you want to listen to more easily. Rough Search allows skipping ahead or back 10 files in a folder. On the DEH-P7500MP, Folder Search allows navigation among different folders, without having to stop playing the current track. Moreover, Pioneers new WMA players* support WMA Ver. 8 features on Series 9 recorded files, but do not support the Lossless Audio Format, VBR files or other new Series 9 features.

* Pioneer WMA/MP3 players do not support files written in Packet mode (UDF format). ** DEH-P77MP, DEH-P7500MP, DEH-P5500MP and DEH-P5530MP.
