MEMORY STICK
The DEH-P900HDD includes a "MagicGate Memory Stick*" slot which allows you to easily download music from your PC and play it back on your DEH-P900HDD. The Memory Stick is a compact and lightweight IC recording media that can be used with an increasing number of Memory Stick Playback products, such as PC, home audio, portable audio, GSM, etc. You can also transfer music from the DEH-P900HDD hard disc to the Memory Stick and play it on another Memory Stick-compatible player. The DEH-P900HDD employs a copyright protection system that conforms to Memory Stick Check-out SDMI. In addition, it also uses MagicGate encryption and authorisation technology which prohibits unauthorised copying. This ensures that you can enjoy music from unlimited, copyrighted sources, knowing that the high quality of the original digital music data source is maintained.

COMFORTABLE MUSIC SELECTION THANKS TO GRACENOTE CDDB DATABASE*
The hard disc drive of the DEH-P900HDD is pre-installed with the Gracenote CDDB database of CD titles (approximately 220,000 standard titles). The Gracenote CDDB Music Recognition Service is used to automatically add album names, artist names and disc titles as audio CDs are backed up from the CD player onto the hard disc. Files can be organised into play lists and selected at the touch of a button.
CONVENIENT RECORDING MODES
The DEH-P900HDD features three convenient recording modes for easy in-car use. The recording mode differs according to the recording source. 1. Disc Mode is convenient when you want to record a whole CD. (Recording Source: built-in CD Player). If the recording process is interrupted in Disc Mode, the recording will restart from the beginning of the the track that was interrupted. 2. Track Mode records the selected music tracks you are listening to. When there is silence at the end of a track, the DEH-P900HDD automatically switches into REC Pause. (Recording Source: built-in CD Player and Multi-CD/MD*) 3. All Mode can record manually from Multi-CD/MD and other source units. You first manually input the beginning and the end of the recording.

Pioneer DEH-P900HDD comes equipped with a super bright OEL display. The display packs 256 x 80 pixels and multiple entertainment features like exciting screensaver images in movie, BGV, or BGP formats as well as other unique 3-D visuals. The displays smart functionality lets you control and confirm operating information at a glance. Plus dont forget comprehensive control, high contrast and brightness even in direct sunlight and wide viewing angle. OEL displays are a great way to add a bit of magic to your in-car entertainment!
POWERFUL AUDIO PROCESSOR INCLUDED
The DEH-P900HDD features a built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processor) that uses digital technology to correct your vehicle's interior acoustics. The Time Alignment feature adjusts the speaker output timing so that the sound from each speaker reaches your ear simultaneously while Auto EQ finetunes the entire range of the musics frequency bandwidths, using 13-band graphic equalisation for front and rear speakers. The DEH-P900HDD also features an ASL (Automatic Sound Leveliser) which uses DSP processing to monitor the varying noise levels and automatically adjust electric volumes and frequencies to mask any exterior noise.

OTHER RECOMMENDABLE FEATURES
BBE Digital: divides the audio signals into three frequency bands and adjusts the speed of the sound waves so that the sound reaches the ear as it should for maximum listening pleasure. BBE adds a longer delay time to the lower frequencies and slightly boosts the high range, which tends to become attenuated, so that it recovers its natural articulation. And BBE dynamically controls the amplitude relationship between the mid and high band areas. This, in combination with the phase compensation feature, restores the brilliance and clarity of the original live sound. A 10 GB hard disc drive is mounted right into your headunit. You can digitally record music played by the DEH-P900HDD's CD player or make an analogue recording from any source unit connected via the IP-Bus (Multi-CD player, MiniDisc player, DAB digital radio tuner) onto the hard disc*. Thanks to the high storage capacity of the hard disc drive, you can record, organize and reproduce up to a stunning 200 hours of your favourite music. The music is stored in ATRAC3 compression format. There's no need to bring your whole collection of CDs to your car anymore, nor to edit your best-of album in advance. Your car becomes your own personal travelling juke box.
* The DEH-P900HDD cannot record AM/FM or MP3-recorded CD-R/RW discs.

MP3 FILE PLAYBACK
The DEH-P900HDD can play back MP3 music data recorded on CD-R/RW. When recording an MP3 file onto a CD-R/RW, you can create disc names, track titles and artist names to organise the music data. When you play back your MP3 files from your DEH-P900HDD, the folders and title names will be displayed on the screen, making it easy to select the tracks you want to hear.
Pioneer introduces the PC-Link Kit, the latest way to enhance your car audio experience by creating your own personal OEL display animation. It works with the DEH-P900HDD. Capture your favourite digital camera images (BMP, JPEG or PNG formats) or digital video movies (AVI format) on your PC and create movies of up to 60 frames. The user-friendly software lets you edit and add special effects and text to your images. You can change the frame size, timing and sequencing, but the fun doesnt stop here. You can also click on the direct internet link or go to www.pioneer-eur.com to download ready-to-use background images, level indicators and movies.

EXPAND YOUR SYSTEM

Thanks to the DEH-P900HDD's 3 RCA pre-outs, you can easily hook up extra amplifiers to your headunit, to expand the system and improve sound quality. For example, you can connect 2 front speakers, 2 rear speakers and a subwoofer in the back and control them all directly from your headunit. GLOSSARY

ATRAC3
ATRAC3 is an audio compression technology used in MagicGate Memory Stick and MDLP. The digitised music data can be compressed into one-tenth of the volume of a conventional music CD. A 64 MB capacity Memory Stick can record about 60 minutes of music.

ID3 Tag

This is the format used to record information with an MP3 file. Recordable information: Title, artist and album name and music genre. The DEH-P900HDD can display up to 30 characters of this information.

Check In/Check Out

Check-out= transferring data from the DEH-P900HDD's built-in HDD to the MagicGate Memory Stick. Check-in= returning checked-out music data to the HDD. The Check-in can only be done by the HDD which did the Check-out. According to MagicGate regulation, it is possible to make four copies of the music data. One copy is recorded on the HDD, this which leaves you with 3 additional Check-out possibilities.

This is a compact yet lightweight IC recording media which features the copyright protection technology MagicGate. MagicGate, MagicGate Memory Stick, Memory Stick and their respective logos are registered trademarks of the Sony Corp.
