KPC1 and DVD Synchronizing Industrial vs. Consumer Players
The two factors when deciding whether to use consumer or industrial players are - how accurate do you need the players to be in synchronization, and the reliability of the players. If they have to be perfectly frame accurate and extremely reliable (37,000+ MTBF), then industrial DVD players are the solution. All DVD disc produced for the KPC1 must begin at the same frame since the KPC1 transmits the same search information to all the players attached to it. If the starting points are different, then another controller has to be used - the Technovision PC2.
Using the KPC1 and Industrial Players (Pioneer DVD-V7400)
There are two options available for DVD site programmable and pre-programmed. The hardware, to have the industrial DVD players start at the same starting frame on the DVD and play to the same ending frame, is very similar. Using the KPC1 and Consumer Players (Pioneer DV-343)
Because or the search characteristics in a consumer DV-343 player, they do not all search and still at the same beginning point. Sometimes this may be 5 to 10 frames into the chapter before it stills. But once they begin playing, the players do not drift from the original search offsets. All DVD discs will start at Title 1, Chapter 1.

DVD Compatibility

The DVD's we burn are compatible with almost all newer DVD players. If you own an older model, please be sure to check the list below for compatibility. (the following is quoted from Apple.com) "These discs are playable in most standard DVD players and computer DVD-ROM drives. The following table lists players that we have specifically tested for playability. If your player is not on the list, that does not mean it is not compatible, only that we have not tested it yet."
