Built-in TMC (Traffic Messaging Channel)
information received while in Memory Navi mode only covers the area that has been stored in the memory. In addition, traffic lists will not be available. However, traffic icons will still appear on the map whenever a new message is received. On the AVIC-HD1BT, a TMC icon will automatically appear on your navigation screen to inform you that a traffic event has been reported on your route.
The AVIC-HD1BT and AVIC-X1BT navigation units have a built-in TMC (Traffic Message Channel) receiver offering up-to-the-minute detailed traffic information. In countries where real-time TMC traffic information is broadcasted, the system indicates the traffic events on the map within a range of 150 kilometres. If TMC picks up a problem, the system presents you with an alternative route in order to avoid the traffic event. A special menu function lists all the current traffic events in the area and even sorts them by Distance or Event. On the Pioneer navigation units, you can personalise the traffic information by selecting the traffic icons you would like to see displayed on the map from a handy menu. When the AVIC-X1BT is in Memory Navi mode, TMC is now also available for the country the driver is in at the time of switching to Memory Navi mode, and for the country prior to that. The traffic

User-friendly Operation

BLUETOOTH WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY
Incorporating Bluetooth wireless technology, the AVIC navigation units offer the very latest in hands-free telephony removing the need for a complicated hands-free kit, additional connections or wires. The AVIC units connect to nearly any Bluetooth wireless technology enabled mobile phone* in the car, wherever it is, either in the glove compartment, your handbag or in your pocket. Thanks to Bluetooth wireless technology, you can manage your mobile phones functionalities from your AVIC units touch panel display, using the remote control, your cars own hard-wired remote control, or even using voice recognition**. On the AVIC-HD1BT, a total of 5 mobile phones can be paired with the unit to enjoy full functionalities. The AVIC-X1BT allows you to pair 3 mobile phones, with basic functionalities available for up to 2 guests. The AVIC navigation units boast advanced call functionalities and allow you to manage your calls, phone book, call history, etc. For the AVIC-HD1BT, the phone book can even be transferred to and managed from the HDD. It is even possible to include pictures in the phonebook, which can be added via CD-ROM and will be shared between the phonebook and the address book. Whats more, the AVIC units telephony seamlessly integrates with the navigation capabilities, allowing you to search for POIs or use the address book and dial directly, without having to go to a separate menu. Most importantly, these AVIC units offer you the freedom to answer your calls with both hands on the wheel and with the greatest of ease.

INTERACTIVE TOUCH PANEL DISPLAY OPERATION
Pioneers AVIC units boast a user-friendly touch panel display, which offers fast and easy access to the units GUI (Graphical User Interface). A simple touch of the screen is all it takes to make your selection. When you are required to input information, a clear keyboard will be displayed on screen. Making your way through the menu is equally simple. The tab structure offers a clear overview, and the back button always allows you to move back to a higher level within the menu. The touch panel display also enables you to scroll on the map and retrieve map and POI information in the vicinity of the cursor position. For example, when you are in a new city, you may want to know where to park. By scrolling on the map, a list of nearby car parks can be retrieved at the touch of a finger!

VOICE RECOGNITION

For 2006, the Voice Recognition has been improved on the AVIC-HD1BT to create a much higher hit rate than previously available. The new voice engine is a huge improvement over previous versions. Synonyms can be used for the basic navigation commands, while many useful commands have been added, such as Bluetooth commands and POI commands. For the Display Menu, you can select from 10 different languages*, while Voice Recognition is available in 6 languages**.

Navigation

3-D Gyro Sensor
Allows the navigation system to take measurements in three directions: height (up/ down), speed (distance) and direction (left/right) to pinpoint accurate navigation calculations.

DVD Dolby Digital

The current surround sound quality encoding standard, Dolby Digital, means in-car movie theatre sound performance. The front left and right, centre, rear left and right speakers span frequencies from 20 Hz 20 kHz and there is a dedicated subwoofer channel for additional low frequency sound effects.

Audio Advanced DSP

Some of Pioneers headunits feature advanced DSP. In combination with the 24-bit DAC, it produces the highest quality in-car sound.
ASL (Automatic Sound Leveliser)
Automatic Sound Leveliser (ASL) technology electronically and automatically adjusts volume and frequencies to mask varying degrees of exterior noise.

Memory Navi

This AVIC-X1BT feature can hold over 400 km of routeing. Once the route is loaded, the DVD Map Disc can be exchanged for a single CD, MP3 CD or DVD-Video disc.
Dolby Digital Pro Logic II
Reproduces multi-channel surround sound from a variety of sound sources, to create the thrill of 5.1-channel surround sound even from 2-channel sources.

Auto EQ

Auto EQ system tailors specific musical characteristics to taste, according to the cars acoustics. It applies automatic fine-tuning across the entire range of the musics frequency bandwidths using digital 13-band graphic equalisation for front and rear speakers.

POI (Point of Interest)

Pioneers Navigation units have a large amount of POIs (Points of Interest) stored in memory. The driver can do a fast POI search by name or by category (destination search) to locate a particular point of interest (e.g. restaurants, petrol stations, etc.).
This 5.1-channel playback encoding technology is rapidly gaining popularity thanks to its dynamic sound impact.
(Auto) Time Alignment DVD-Video TMC (Trafc Message Channel)
Keeps the driver updated on current traffic events and suggests alternative routes. Refer to page 9. The latest in multimedia digital technology, DVD guarantees second-to-none picture quality. The ultra-sharp digital picture and surround sound bring impressive cinema into your car. Plus, DVD is packed with useful features e.g. multiple languages, soundtracks and subtitles, support for various multi-channel audio-encoding technologies such as DTS and Dolby Digital. The Time Alignment feature adjusts the speaker sound output timing within the vehicle for each speaker in steps of 2.5 cm, so the sound from each speaker reaches the drivers ears at the same time. Auto Time Alignment automatically estimates the delay from each speaker to the listening position and adjusts the Time Alignment accordingly.
iTMC is a national RDS-TMC service for the UK, which provides real-time traffic information services for in-car navigation systems.

Built-in DSP CD AAC

Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) is a wideband audio codec that dramatically reduces the amount of data needed to convey high-quality digital audio. This makes it the audio format of choice for Internet, wireless and digital broadcast arenas. AAC provides more efficient audio encoding compression than older formats like MP3, yet delivers quality comparable to uncompressed CD audio. Uses digital technology to correct a vehicles interior acoustics. The system also offers various sound fields to recreate different listening environments in your car (Studio, Jazz Club, etc.).

V-Trac

V-Trafic offers real-time traffic information for in-car navigation systems, mobile phones, etc. that covers the whole of France.

Digital Compression

This feature is useful for music with an exceedingly wide dynamic range (classical is a good example). Quiet passages are boosted so that background noise doesnt bury them and loud passages are reduced, preventing overload and distortion of the speakers.

TV Tuner DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting Terrestrial)
Offering TV broadcasts over terrestrial networks, DVB-T gives users the freedom of antenna reception while receiving digital quality video and audio.

Direct Sub Drive CD Text

Allows users to add text information to regular music CDs (usable with compact discs featuring CD Text). MOSFET 50 and EEQ+ can be used together to get Direct Sub Drive. EEQ+ filters the rear channels output; then, MOSFET 50 due to ample audio power drives Pioneers high sensitivity subwoofers directly, without using a separate component amplifier. MOSFET 50 can also drive 2- speakers, pumping out an incredible 1 x 70 W in the rear, giving the unique set-up of a 2 x 50 W front and 1 x 70 W subwoofer system. Dynamic Bass Emphasis: This feature digitally boosts low and high frequencies at lower volume levels to compensate for ambient road noise.
Is the TV standard used in most of Western Europe.
CD-R/CD-RW Compatibility SECAM
SECAM L is the TV standard used in France. SECAM DK is used in Russia. All Pioneer CD headunits can playback CD-R/CD-RW discs, allowing the user to enjoy favourite compilations in-car.
Disc Title Memory Radio Tuner ARC 5
The Automatic Reception Control system used in all Pioneer headunits increases sensitivity and improves FM reception. Enables the user to program an up to 10-digit descriptive title to be displayed when that CD is selected. Up to 48 titles may be entered with many Pioneer single-CD units and up to 100 titles with Pioneer multi-CD players.

RCA Pre-Out

The standard connection system to carry sound from a headunit to an amplifier or equaliser. RCA Pre-Outs provide easy output for connection to an outboard amplifier.
