Description of Features

Remote Power Feeding - The PowerDsine 6024/6012/6006 Power over Ethernet midspans connect to an existing Ethernet infrastructure via standard Category 5 unshielded twisted-pair and shielded twisted-pair cabling. An external splitter may be installed where a device isn't standard compliant. Scalable Solution - The PowerDsine 6024/6012/6006 Power over Ethernet midspans support up to twenty-four Ethernet terminals. Multiple midspans can be mounted in a wiring closet to support additional terminals, resulting in a simple, cost effective method for expanding the network, as requirements evolve. Centralized Power Distribution - Deploying Power over Ethernet in conjunction with a central UPS provides a cost-effective way to distribute back-up power and ensures uninterrupted operation of the network during electrical power failure. Standard Compliance - PowerDsine 6024/6012/6006 midspans are fully compatible with IEEE 802.3af standard. Advanced Auto-Sensing Algorithm - PowerDsine 6024/6012/6006 Midspans feature a standard IEEE 802.3af auto-sensing algorithm, as well as a backward compatible prestandard one. Easy to Use - The PowerDsine 6024/6012/6006 Power over Ethernet midspans are plug-and-play products. Once turned on, they automatically detect all Power over Ethernet terminals and supply inline power. Concise LED Displays - Real-time network monitoring through the front panel, includes a bi-color, per-port LED, indicating normal, overload or short-circuit conditions. Compact Size - The standard 19-inch, 1U high Power over Ethernet midspans allow easy rack mounting, while occupying minimal space in the wiring closet. Power Management - PowerDsine 6024/6012/6006 midspans include enhanced power management capabilities by controlling the output power per port in the event of limited available power.

End Of Life Notification for PowerDsines Power over Ethernet 6000 Managed Midspan models
June 25th, 2006 Dear valued partner, This letter is to inform you that PowerDsine will be discontinuing the PowerDsine 6000 10/100BaseT Managed Midspan products by October 31st, 2006. Please refer to attachment A for detailed list of discontinued products and information on the replacement products. In order to accommodate your continuing requirements, PowerDsine is offering you the following options for securing your future products needs: 1. Product Migration: PowerDsine is offering the PowerDsine 6500 as a replacement for the PowerDsine 6000 series. PowerDsine 6500 series offer the same functionality in compact design with enhanced remote management features, highly secured power management and life time warranty. 2. Finished product purchases: You may place non-cancelable, non-returnable (NCNR) last time buy for the products in attachment A by September 30, 2006.
This notice does not affect the PowerDsine PD-6024/AC, 6000G series (10/100/1000 BaseT series) as well as the 6000/ACDC Midspan products. Those products are expected to remain in production for the foreseeable future.
