PowerDsine PowerView Pro provides network power management capabilities to monitor and configure PowerDsine Power over Ethernet Midspans.

System Capabilities

PowerDsine PowerView Pro can be used on any PC on the Network, providing remote management capabilities of Power over Ethernet devices connected to the network (see Figure 1 below). Security is implemented in the PowerDsine PowerView Pro system utilizing advanced secure remote management capabilities, including an authentication algorithm (i.e. MD5) and a privacy algorithm (i.e. DES). It supports MIB of SNMP V3 (secure version) and enables the use of HTTPS.

It has a built-in web ser ver to enable remote monitoring over the network using a web browser (applies only to 1-Gigabit product line and 48 port midspans). PowerDsine PowerView Pro allows for monitoring and controlling at network and element levels. Network Level PowerDsine PowerView Pro is interoperable with the NMS management system to monitor and configure an array of Power over Ethernet midspan units. The system is compliant and can be managed by MIB-based management platforms, such as HP Openview and SNMPc. Element Level Element management is performed on the unit level and port level. On the unit level, parameters which can be retrieved directly from the Power over Ethernet midspan include: product identification, active power source, product status and unit power consumption. Parameters at the port level include maximum per port power, port priority level, port status and type of powered device connected.
