Profoto Pro-7s

Fast recycling, short flash duration and symmetrical power distribution for up to two lamp heads. Unique capacitor rotation feature constantly rotates capacitor banks for maximum efciency and longer generator life, especially in heavy-duty use.

Pro-B2

High-capacity battery powered generator for total freedom on location. In the studio, the Pro-B2 can be charged while shooting, thus extending its usage. Each battery holds energy enough for 200 full power flashes, recycling in less than 1.8 sec. and flash durations down to from 1/7400 sec. The Pro-B2 accepts up to two lamp heads for symmetrical or asymmetrical operation. The Pro-7 generators are perfectly suited for critical analogue (lm) and digital photography.

Systematically Shape with Light
Modular light shaping tools are the heart of the Profoto System design. They allow you to reveal your own artistic style with unparalleled quality of light with maximum control and the minimum equipment set up time. You can systematically work with dozens of tools and accessories to create the look you want. The impressive range of Profoto light shaping tools include a system of reflectors, spotlights and umbrellas, but it doesnt stop there. Highly specialized accessories like the ProGlobe, ProBox, Hardbox and Profoto 5, 7 and 8 foot giant reflectors offer unique lighting solutions to any shooting situation. Each tool offers a specic character of light to create highlights and shadows in limitless combinations, a broad palette that is easy to work with. For the lighting artist in you. settings 8 and 4 is approximately 3 f-stops. Along with its zoom feature, it accepts a variety of accessories including Grid & Filterholder, Barn Doors, Snoot, and 5, 10 and 20 Grids for a wide range of light shaping possibilities. The Grid and Filterholder is the most versatile accessory for the Standard Zoom Reflector. Filters can be mounted between the light source and the accessory. There is an air space between the lter and the reflector which prevents the lter from getting burned. Besides a Filter Cassette, there is a diffusion lter included. It is a little known fact that grids are more efcient if a diffusion lter is mounted behind them (between the light source and the grid).

Light Control

Honeycomb grids narrow the light beam, and are available in 20, 10, and 5 coverage. The four-sided Barn Door mounts directly onto the Standard Zoom Reflector. It features springs for mounting lters and/or honeycomb grids. It blocks undesired light from the subject or the camera lens. Mounted on the reflector, it can control stray light and add additional control to the shadow areas. The Filterholder mounts directly onto the Standard Zoom Reflector. A gelatin lter or diffuser 40x40cm can be mounted. A Snoot, which is mounted into the Grid and Filterholder and locked in place by the Filter Cassette, provides concentrated light at a specic point.

Profoto Giant Reflectors

For three decades top photographers all around the world have appreciated the light quality of Profotos flash heads, and their unique zoom reflector system, essentially giving the creative photographer the possibility to paint with the light. The largest light shaping tools from Profoto are the 5, 7 & 8 foot reflectors, with equivalent diameters of 153, 213 and 250cm. These giant accessories are true parabolic reflectors made of a silver fabric. For comparison, the huge 8' Reflector has an illuminated surface area 50% larger than the 7' Reflector and 200% larger than the 5 foot Reflector. Each reflector gives a unique crisp light. Since the light source is so large the lighting still appears soft with a distinct brilliance, which for instance brings out structural details in materials. These giant reflectors accept all Profoto heads, including our Tungsten heads. The Profoto 5', 7' and 8' reflectors are collapsible for easy transportation. Thanks to their lightweight but solid design and easy handling, they are also well suited for location work.

All three reflectors come with a transportation bag and a stand adapter; optional snap-on diffusers can be used for added versatility.

Flexible Light Control

The center pole consists of two rods that can be used individually or combined, for maximum freedom when positioning the head. By using the rods differently, there are four different ways of positioning the head, corresponding to anything from a large size spot to broad floodlight. The head mount has also been equipped with a spill kill reflector; by sliding the head back and forth, stray light can be controlled and eliminated. Since the lamp head is fastened with Profotos unique rubber collar, the focusing can be nely adjusted in each position. With a Profoto Pro-at 2 meters, up to f-stop 64 (ISO 100/21) is possible. The reflectors provide swift mounting and removal, and on the back of the units, there is an opening for the electric cable to the lamp head.

Profoto umbrellas are constructed of high quality material, and give exceptional quality of light. The White Umbrella gives an even diffused lighting effect with soft shadow denition. The closer to the subject the umbrella is placed, the softer the shadow will be. White umbrellas are available in Small, Medium and Large diameters. The Translucent Umbrella provides diffused lighting around a bright core. The lighting can be varied by changing its distance to the lamp head. The Profoto ZoomSpot is a superb focusable light shaping tool to create stage lighting effect, accent lights over a huge distance or for background projection. The ZoomSpot has a built-in ashtube, which increases the efciency and gives 100% conformity of model and ash light for total light control. F-stop at 2m, 100 ASA and 2400Ws is 64,5. The Zoom lens is adjustable from 15-35 light spread and has a revolving lens unit for uncomplicated light adjustments. Iris diaphragm and 4 shutters included. Active fan cooling allows continuous use. Integrated support for lters, masks and gobos. This 15-degree reector offers a very high light output in a compact size designed for the photographer who travels. This reflector produces f/90.0 at 2 meters with a 2400w/s pack. Because of the high polish nish, the Narrow Beam Travel Reector has a hot spot in the center, similar tothe original Narrow Beam Reector.

This unique light shaping tool is actually a kind of absorber that eliminates straylight and reduces the size of the light source to its minimum. With the Hardbox its possible to create a light character similar to direct sunlight, with deep sharp shadows and pinpoint sized highlights. The Hardbox accepts the same accessories like the Standard Zoom Reector for improved light control. For best results the Hardbox should be used in combination with clear glass covers.

LiFe Batteries

Profoto uses the most advanced and reliable rechargeable batteries: Lithium Ion Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4), short LiFe batteries. These batteries include sophisticated electronics: A special constructed BMS board (Battery Monitoring System) controls and adjusts their output to assure an optimal performance. LiFe cells offer a very high capacity, are lightweight, withstand high loads and are very safe and reliable. On top, they have 4 times longer life-time than lead acid batteries and can be used in a wider temperature range. The integrated electronics also protect the LiFe battery against deep-discharge and overheating. Because of their special construction it is possible to use the same chargers for LiFe and Pb (lead acid) batteries. This simplies the combined use of new and old battery generators and allows owners of previous Profoto battery generators to update their packs with the new LiFe batteries.
The Pro-BAirS, has been implemented with the reliable radio slave system: Profoto Air Sync. The generator can be triggered from a distance up to 300 m (1000 ft). Ultra-short delay makes it possible to use the fastest sync times. Air Sync uses the same frequency all over the world, covering 8 separate channels. The Profoto Air Sync provides a simple solution for you, to trigger it with your camera. Profoto Air Sync can also be used as a receiver and sync generators without built in Profoto Air.

Universal Power Adapter

The Profoto Universal Power Adapter (UPA) is a quick charger that can be used while shooting and does increase the operation time of the Pro-B3 seriously. The charging time of an empty LiFe battery with the UPA is just 2.5 h. On top the UPA operates as 12V/24V car charger (adapter cable included).
