Immobilizer
The basic function of PULSAR 12. 1. Dynamic rolling code. 2. Immobilizer program configuration changing. 3. Anti-CarJack function availability. 4. General Immobilizer PULSAR-12 is a car electric circuits disabling system. Disabling unit is transmitter that emits constantly (every 2 to 3 sec.) hopping code at 433,92 MHz frequency. The number of combinations is 280 trillions. PULSAR-12 is applicable for any car with battery 12V and minus to ground. In order to disarm immobilizer the driver may do nothing, it is enough only to po sess transmitter. The distance is within car compartment and close to it, if main unit is installed properly and there are no strong interferences. Transmitter's PCB is placed within semi-transparent black plastic case 35 x 35 x 6 mm. Every signal sending is indicated by LED flashing. Standard set includes two transmitters but receiver lets to memorize up to 4 transmitters (learning procedure is described in Command 31). It is recommended to use lithium batteries CR2032 (3V ) for supply and replace them every 6 months. Turning transmitter ON is made by battery insertion. If transmitter LED blinks frequently it means that battery is OK. If LED blinks with equal periods ON and OFF then battery should be replaced. As well, battery should be
Immobilizer performance (without ANTI-CARJACK function) Arming without signal from transmitter comes in time A (10, 20 or 30 sec., set by Commands 61 to 63) if ignition is off. Disarming comes after the first signal from transmitter appearance. In case of occasional engine
stopping or strong interferences (there are no signal from transmitter) PULSAR-12 allows restarting engine within time B (0,5 or 10 sec., set by Commands 64 to 66) after ignition off. Immobilizer performance (with ANTI-CARJACK function). When door is open and within time D (30, 60, 120 or 180 sec. set by Commands 54 to 57) after closing the door, arming comes in time C (30, 60 or 90 sec. set by Commands 51 to 53) after receipt of last transmitter signal. If ignition is ON last 20 sec. Of time C count down are accompanied by frequent LED and buzzer signals. If after closing thendoor, at least, one transmitter`s signal came to receiver after time D, engine cannot be blocked even if transmitter signal is absent what is confirmed by 2 short buzzer signals, if Command 43 is active. PULSAR-12 menu entering. By learnt transmitter. Take out and insert transmitter battery and right away (within 2 sec.) start engine for a short time. By PIN code (4 digits) entering. PIN code input is made by momentarily (appr. 1 sec.) turning ignition on. The number of key turns corresponds to input digit. Every key turns is accompanied by short LED flashing. Digit inputs confirmed by green (Anti-CarJack is active) or yellow (Anti-CarJack is off) LED for appr. 1 sec. After switching LED off, next digit could be input till full PIN code input. Full PIN code input is confirmed by long (1sec.) sound and light signals. Every digit could be input within 20 sec. Wrong input of digit could be reset by turning ignition on for 3 sec. Or more. PIN code input should be repeated from the first digit. Wrong PIN code is accompanied by 3 sound (buzzer) and light (red LED) signals. Correct PIN code input could be repeated from the first digit. Factory setting for PIN code is 2222. It has to be changed during installing or use. Emergency mode (engine not to be blocked). Switching on or off is made by entering menu without subsequent commands input. Burning green LED indicates emergency mode. Next entering menu changes mode status into contrary one (emergency <=> regular). Menu Commands input. In order to input commands, enter menu. After that, Commands input is the same PIN code input, except only two digits to be input. Every momentary turning ignition on is accompanied by sound and light indication. Completing is confirmed by short double sound and light signals. It is assigned not more 20 sec for every Commands could be input in any turn. In order to exit menu, turn ignition on for more than 3 sec. Remarks. Input of the first digit of Command more than 3 does not change immobilizer mode, i.e. PULSAR12 remains in the same mode as it was before menu entering. PULSAR-12 full menu Commands description. 31 - transmitters learning ( up to 4 transmitters). After short double sound signal, insert battery into learning transmitter. Learning of each transmitter should be done within 20 sec. All data of switched-on transmitter memorize and new 20-sec. Interval for next transmitter counts. First learnt transmitter erases previous transmitters. Afterwards, transmitter signals are confirmed by buzzer after 20 sec. elapsing. Constant transmitting could be switched by means of commands 34 or 36.

32 - input of new PIN code. It starts from short double signal. Input of any new digit should be done within 20 sec. new PIN code is made in the same way as old PIN code input. 33 - number of learnt transmitters. Number of red LED flashes corresponds to number of learnt transmitters. 34 - permanent confirmation of the buzzer at open door is ON. Receipt of a signal from transmitter is confirmed by a short sound signal. 35 - command 34 cancellation. 36 - permanent confirmation of the buzzer is ON. Receipt of a signal from transmitter is confirmed by a short sound signal. 37 - command 36 cancellation. 38 - permanent confirmation of LED is ON. Receipt of a signal from transmitter is confirmed by green LED flash. 39 - command 38 cancellation. 41 - Anti-CarJack function is active. 42 - command 41 cancellation. 43 - confirmation of transmitter signal by double sound signal is ON (for Anti-CarJack function). There are two short signals of buzzer if, at least, one signal from transmitter was received after elapse of time D (commands 54, 55, 56, 57) after closing door. 44 - command 43 cancellation. Commands 45 and 46 are assigned only for specialists and have to be set by immobilizer installer. 45 - direct logic of outer relay blocking is on. Normally open contacts of outer relay are used. These contacts are connected in series with unit that to be blocked. 46 - opposite logic of outer relay blocking is on. Normally closed contacts of outer relay are used. These contacts are connected in series with unit that to by blocked. 49 - factory settings. Immobilizer factory settings are restored, except PIN code and learnt transmitters. Factory settings: 35, 37, 39, 41, 44, 45, 52, 56, 62, 65. Time intervals when Anti-CarJack is active. 5152535455565730 sec. 60 sec. 90 sec. 30 sec. 60 sec. 120 sec. 180 sec. If there are no signal from transmitter within 30/60/90 sec. at open door, engine work is blocked. Time C
If after elapsing 30/60/120/180 sec. after closing door, at least, one signal Time D from transmitter was received, the engine will work without blocking even in absence of signals from transmitter.

If engine failed and there are no signals from transmitter then after turning Time B ignition off it is possible to restart engine within 0/5/10 sec.
Sound and light indication. LED is OFF at ignition ON - the signals from transmitter come. Engine is unblocked. Flash of green LED at ignition OFF - the signals from transmitter come. Engine is unblocked. Red LED blinks - no signal from transmitter. Engine is blocked.
Green LED is ON after 3 sec after turning ignition ON immobilizer is in emergency mode. Engine is unblocked. Flash of green LED after turning ignition ON - Anti-CarJack function is active and confirmation of ignition on during PIN code or Command input. Flash of yellow LED after turning ignition ON - Anti-CarJack function is OFF and confirmation of ignition on during PIN code or Command input. Long ( 1 sec.) burning of green/yellow LED receipt of PIN code digit. Long ( 1 sec.) burning of green/yellow LED and buzzer signal - confirmation of correct full PIN code input and indication of activated normal mode of immobilizer. Green/yellow LED is ON and long (1 sec.) buzzer signal - confirmation of correct full PIN code input and indication of activated emergency mode of immobilizer. Double flash of green/yellow LED and buzzer confirmation of correct command receipt and indication of previous (before PIN code)input immobilizer mode restoration. Triple flash of red LED and buzzer - wrong PIN code or Command is put. Fourfold buzzer signal at opening door battery is weak and should be replaced. Manifold signals of buzzer and/or red LED with rising frequency for 20 sec. Notification of doors blocking in 20 sec. Remarks for installer. Main unit installation. Proper installation of main unit depends on reliable performance of the whole set. It is recommended to install main unit inside car compartment away from sources of heat or radio interference (main unit of alarm systems, inboard computer, etc.). In order to find optimal place for installation, it is recommended to use interference level meter NOISE of UAB Tamona. Green LED of main unit indication receipt of every signal from learnt transmitter. Immobilizer adjusting. Change of immobilizer configuration could be simplified by use of programmer of UAB Tamona.
