Quantum LTO-2 tape solutions leverage LTO technology and Quantum-exclusive features to provide the most reliable high performance tape data protection for medium and large businesses. The Quantum LTO-2 balances price with increased capacity, performance and reliability providing a very efficient Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Doubling the performance of LTO-1 tape drives, the LTO-2 stores up to 400 gigabytes (GB) per cartridge and delivers sustained backup speeds of up to 245GB per hour. Backward-compatible with LTO-1 media, and interchangeable with tape drives from all Ultrium-certified manufacturers, the LTO-2 tape drive provides complete investment security and delivers the quality and cost benefits only available through an open format tape technology. The Quantum LTO-2 is the most reliable LTO-2 tape drive on the market, delivering reliability features only available from Quantum. MediaShield provides advanced cooling and ceramic fixed tape guides, extending media life by 100% over drives from all other manufacturers. Multiple Transfer Speeds inherent in the drive enable constant tape streaming and eliminates performance-degrading tape repositions by automatically matching the hosts transfer speed to one of the thirteen LTO-2 tape drives speeds. Dynamic Powerdown protects the drive and cartridge in the event of power loss. SmartVerify concurrently verifies all data written to the tape, virtually eliminating the need for traditional verify pass during backup operations, thus reducing the backup window by 50%. With an error-free, full duty cycle MTBF of 250,000 hours, the LTO-2 is a sound investment ensuring data will be recoverable when required. Backed by a three-year limited warranty, the LTO-2 is a complete data protection solution that includes BakBone NetVault WorkGroup software. NetVault WorkGroup runs on Windows, Unix and Linux, provides support for up to five clients, and delivers up to 100GB of disk-to-disk-totape (D2D2T) capacity.

The HP Data Protector Express Compatibility Matrix provides information about the operating systems, applications, and backup devices tested by HP to be compatible with Data Protector Express and Data Protector Express Basic. Data Protector Express Basic is provided exclusively with HP tape drives, tape autoloaders, and MSL tape libraries, and it delivers a subset of Data Protector Express functionality. HP provides commercially reasonable efforts to test and support Data Protector Express with as many different operating systems, service packs, applications and hardware devices as possible and as demanded by customers. However, due to the large number of software and hardware combinations, it is not possible to test all combinations. If a particular device, service pack or version is not included in this document it may be compatible with Data Protector Express but has not been tested by HP with Data Protector Express. To deliver the comprehensive HP support, this support is only valid when Data Protector Express is used in combination with software and hardware listed in this document. These desktop agents are not licensed separately. 6) HP All in One (AiO), HP ProLiant Storage Servers, and HP X1000 NAS products include factory installed Windows Storage Server (WSS). These products also include HP Automated Storage Manager (ASM). The ASM interface can be used to control some of the Data Protector Express functionality if Data Protector Express is installed on the system. 7) Data Protector Express has no specific integration with VMware, Microsoft HyperV or other Hypervisors. Data Protector Express can be used to protect any supported operating systems and supported applications running in a Virtual Machine by using LAN based client backups. 8) Windows Server 2008 R2 is 64-bit (x64) only.
