RENAULT TWINGO dCi 85 eco
ENHANCED PERFORMANCE, LOWER FUEL CONSUMPTION
Building on the success of Twingo, which stands out as the best-selling car of its category in France and one of its category's three best-sellers in Europe, Renault has extended the city car's catalogue of diesel engines to include the dCi 85. Renault Twingo dCi 85 eco2 combines enhanced performance and driving pleasure with low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. It joins the range alongside the dCi 65, delivering additional power (+20hp/15kW) and torque (200Nm, up 40Nm), yet CO2 emissions are a mere 104g/km, equivalent to combined cycle fuel consumption of 4.0 litres/100km. The dCi 85 engine is available for both the Dynamique and GT versions of Twingo and sales are due to start in France on January, with prices starting from 14,850.
Performance and punch Given the high proportion that dCi engines account for regarding its A- and B-segment sales in Europe (49% of Renault sales in these categories since January 2008), Renault has decided to extend its line-up of diesel engines for Twingo to include the dCi 85. Compared with the dCi 65, the dCi 85 represents a power increase of 20hp (15kW) to 85hp (62kW) at 3,750rpm. It is also equipped with a low inertia turbo which offers response and motoring enjoyment from low engine speeds in all traffic situations. Peak torque is also in the high bracket for an A-segment vehicle at 200Nm (18.9mkg) which is available from 1,750rpm. This 1,461cc powerplant features second-generation 1,600-bar common-rail injection which guarantees even more precise control of combustion quality and fuel consumption. Last but not least, the dCi 85 engine is widely acclaimed for its fuel efficiency and acoustic performance, thanks notably to its flexible flywheel which filters out the effects of acyclic movements. The dCi 85 engine joins Twingo's existing range of five engines: - four petrol engines: the 1.2 60hp, the 1.2 16V 75hp, the TCe 100 (Twingo GT only) and the 1.6 16V 133hp (Twingo Renault Sport only). - one diesel engine: the dCi 65.

Low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions The dCi 85 has already been widely praised under the bonnet of Clio, Modus and Mgane, and today it ensures an unrivalled trade-off between performance and low fuel consumption at an affordable price in the case of Twingo dCi 85. Indeed, CO2 emissions are a low 104g/km, which is equivalent to combined cycle fuel consumption of 4.0 litres/100km. Not only is this respectful of the environment but it also makes the car more economical to run for its owner. Such a low level of CO2 emissions enables customers to benefit, too, from the different 'eco' incentives that have been introduced in certain European countries. These can vary from 700 in France to 15% of the purchase price in Belgium, in addition to which habitants of the latter's Wallonia region can benefit from a further reduction of 1,000. Renault Twingo dCi 85 eco2 complies with all three of the criteria necessary to qualify for the Renault eco2 hallmark.
Suspension engineered for driving pleasure The dCi 85 engine brings out the best in Twingo's punchy performance credentials thanks to the model's sound, balanced chassis which ensures safe, sprightly and comfortable handling. Indeed, Renault Twingo dCi 85 eco2 is as enjoyable to drive in and about town as it is on longer journeys, while the GT version provides a sportier ride which in no way detracts from the car's inherent outstanding comfort.
Exceptionally practical Renault Twingo dCi 85 eco2 is available in two versions: Dynamique and GT (depending on market). These two equipment levels both feature a specific dynamic front bumper, while the GT version is recognizable by its satin-finish grey lip spoiler and chrome exhaust tail-pipe. Twingo dCi 85 features independent, sliding rear seats which ensure unmatched cabin space, comfort and modularity for the A segment.
Twingo, market leader in France and one of the three best-selling cars of its category in Europe Launched in June 2007, Twingo is available in 18 west-European countries and its sales continue to grow in Europe. With a total of 108,000 cars sold since January 2008, Twingo's share of the west-European market is almost 10%, which is double the same figure for 2006. Sales have effectively increased by 55% in the course of the year's first 10 months, while the segment itself has grown by 17%. Twingo equally stands out as the uncontested leader of its segment in France with a share of 30%.

RENAULT EXTENDS ITS GORDINI LINE-UP
The appeal of Twingo Gordini R.S. and Clio Gordini R.S. to a younger, but also more feminine market has seen sales of Renault Sport models grow. To build on this success, Renault has decided to extend its catalogue of 'French Touch' cars with the introduction of Twingo Gordini which slots into the Twingo range instead of the GT version. Twingo Gordini targets motorists who are looking for a combination of French style and great dynamics. In addition to its Gordini cues, the newcomer boasts a particularly well-appointed interior. Twingo Gordini marks the availability of unprecedented equipment for the Twingo range, including new sports seats with additional lateral support and 15-inch diamond-effect wheels (depending on market). The options list also includes Gordini-badged blue and black leather* upholstery. Twingo Gordini will be marketed across most of Europe. Order books for the TCe 100hp version are already open in France, with prices starting from 14,800. A NEW ADDITION TO THE SUCCESSFUL GORDINI LINE-UP The Gordini range is Renault's modern take on Gordini's world which is appealing to an increasing number of motorists who want a car with a truly exclusive temperament. In a matter of months, Renault has successfully applied its French Touch hallmark to its sporty R.S. versions. The French Touch hallmark has boosted sales of Renault Sport models: o With a market share of almost 25 percent of the five main European countries (up five points), Twingo RS is the second best-selling hot hatch, while Clio R.S. is second in its class thanks to a market share of 20.1 percent (up four points). o This success is due to the new Gordini versions which account for around twothirds of Twingo R.S. sales and one-third of Clio R.S. sales in Europe.

Emergence of a community: Gordini's bespoke Facebook page already has more than 28,000 fans, while the iPhone application has been downloaded more than 115,000 times. The Facebook community's profile differs from that of the conventional R.S. models, in that it is more feminine (twice as many lady fans) and is an average 15 years younger.
French Touch appeal: nine customers in ten choose the blue livery, while only one percent of buyers order the car without its white stripes. These statistics point to the draw of the Gordini versions' livery and the timeless appeal of their looks. The Gordini line-up has enabled Renault to extend its reach to a younger, more feminine audience, with Twingo R.S.'s market share up by five percentage points in the 30/40 age group and by two points with regard to lady buyers.
Renault has decided to extend the range with the launch of Twingo Gordini which is poised to reinforce the image of the brand's small city car. The new French Touch version replaces Twingo GT and targets customers looking for a dynamic vehicle with sporty looks. It also provides Twingo buyers looking for chic, sporty styling with a chance to profit from the Gordini name. TIMELESS STYLING CUES Exterior Gordini features: o A Malte Blue metallic finish incorporating the two legendary white Gordini stripes plus matching white styling details and accessories (foglamp surrounds, exterior mirror housings, rear spoiler). Pearlescent Black and Glacier White versions are also available. In the case of the latter, the styling details and accessories are picked out in Cold Metal Grey. Interior Gordini features: o o o o o o o o Mixed leather*/fabric upholstery with embroidered Gordini badging and visible white stitching. Blue leather* door trim inserts with visible white stitching. With regard to equipment, Twingo Gordini delivers the best of the Twingo range, including manual or automatic climate control (depending on market), cruise control with speed limiter, 80W radio-CD with MP3 playback and Bluetooth connectivity (hands-free calls, voice recognition, audio streaming) and independent sliding rear seats.

Twingo Gordini can also be ordered with features previously unavailable for Twingo GT, including Renault Sport-type seats with additional lateral support, mixed blue and black upholstery and even blue or black diamond-effect wheels (depending on market). Leather upholstery, which wasn't available for Twingo GT either, figures on the list of options, too. PUNCHY ENGINES AND LOW CO2 EMISSIONS Twingo Gordini is available with a choice of two feisty Euro5-compliant engines: With the punchy, responsive TCe 100 engine under the bonnet, Twingo Gordini delivers dynamic performance and is great fun to drive. The particulate filter-equipped dCi 85 diesel engine provides an exceptional compromise between driving enjoyment and affordable running costs. Thanks to CO2 emissions of just 100g/km, Twingo Gordini dCi 85 will qualify for the French state's 500 'eco' subsidy when order books for this version open on January 2, 2011. Twingo Gordini combines chic and sporty styling, dynamic on-road performance and low CO2 emissions which permit it to qualify for the Renault eco signature.
