1. Introduction

Congratulations on your purchase of the Rocktron Chameleon Online! The Chameleon Online features presets created and uploaded by Rocktron users from all over the world to Rocktron's World Wide Web site. These presets can be easily updated from the "Patch Bay" at Rocktron's web page. In addition, you can also upload your own custom presets to share with other online users. For instructions on downloading and uploading Chameleon presets, please visit our web site at "http://www.rocktron.com" and click "Patch Bay". The Chameleon Online is a 24-bit DSP professional guitar preamp providing 12 unparalleled effect algorithms and superb sound quality never before heard from a digital guitar preamp. Complete programmability and full MIDI implementation are coupled with a user-friendly operating format to ensure that designing unique and useful preset sounds is as simple as possible. In addition, the Chameleon Online also features: Advanced Speaker Simulation, which provides a strikingly realistic approximation of a miked speaker cabinet at line-level for direct mixer input or headphone listening. Full parametric Pre and Post EQ gives the user complete EQ control over each preset. Hush Systems' HUSH noise reduction provides noise reduction while playing and complete silence when not. Variac Simulation, like a conventional Variac, adjusts the level at which the preamp begins to distort. This provides more gain in high-gain applications, and allows for full-bodied cleaner presets which just begin to distort when the strings are attacked harder. Internal Wah-Wah allows the player to use an expression pedal for Wah-Wah effects instead of running long audio cables out to a conventional Wah-Wah pedal. High-quality digital effects, including:

Changing Preset Parameters
STEP 3 Turn the FUNCTION SELECT control to the desired effect or utility function. Turn the PARAMETER SELECT control to the parameter you wish to alter under the selected effect or utility function. Use the PARAMETER ADJUST control to select the new parameter value. The COMPARE button may be used to compare the sound of the altered value to the stored value.

3. Front Panel
POWER switch RECALL button This button is used to recall the displayed preset. PRESET control This control scrolls through the successive presets. CONFIG button/led The status of this button determines whether the Chameleon will display either the preset number and title or the configuration of the currently displayed preset. The configuration display indicates the effects that the displayed preset executes and, in most cases, the order in which they are executed. The LED above the CONFIG button is lit when the configuration is displayed.
DISPLAY panel The DISPLAY panel provides 16 characters consisting of 14 segments each. EFFECT BYPASS button/led When lit, the Pre and Post effects are bypassed and only the Compressor/Preamp signal is passed to the Chameleon outputs This button does not affect the condition of the Speaker Simulator. COMPARE button The COMPARE button may be used to compare an altered parameter value to its stored value. This button may also be used to compare between the altered and stored values of multiple parameters under the same function heading (i.e. "Reverb", "Mixer", etc.). Note: If comparing an altered value to the stored value and the stored value is currently being viewed, turning a knob or pressing a button that changes the parameter value displayed will cancel the previous altered value. This will also occur if a MIDI Control change is received while viewing the stored value(s).
PARAMETER ADJUST control This control is used to adjust a displayed parameter value. When the parameter is changed from its original value, the LED above the STORE button will light until either the new value is stored, a new preset is selected or the parameter is returned to its original value. STORE button/led This button is used to store values into the Chameleon memory when altered. See "Storing Changed Preset Parameters" for more information on this procedure.

The HUSH circuit is located after the A/D converter in the signal chain to reduce any noise generated from the guitar and the A/D converter. This ensures a quiet input signal to the preamp section. Because the preamp section of the Chameleon is digital, it is virtually noise-free (even in the high-gain mode). Therefore, a quiet input signal to the preamp will result in a quiet output signal.
The PARAMETER SELECT control will allow you to access these Hush parameters:

HUSH I/O

The HUSH I/O parameter simply determines whether the HUSH circuit is active for the current preset. The HUSH THRESHOLD parameter determines the level at which downward expansion begins. For example, if the HUSH THRESHOLD was set at -20dB and the input signal dropped below -20dB, downward expansion would begin.

PRE EQ (EXPERT) Function
The PRE EQ (EXPERT) function is available in all presetsregardless of which configuration is currently recalled. This function allows you to shape the tone prior to the distortion stage. Considerable tone variations can be achieved by modifying these pre-distort EQ parameters.
The PARAMETER SELECT control will allow you to access these PRE EQ parameters: LF LEVEL
The pre-LF (low frequency) LEVEL parameter allows you to cut or boost the low frequencies from -15dB to +6dB prior to the distortion stage. This EQ section is a shelving-type. The pre-LF (low frequency) FREQUENCY parameter allows you to select a frequency band with an upper frequency between 63Hz and 500Hz to be cut or boosted by the preLF LEVEL parameter. The pre-MID LEVEL parameter allows you to cut or boost the mid-band frequencies from -15dB to +12dB prior to the distortion stage. The pre-MID FREQUENCY parameter allows you to select a mid-band center frequency between 500Hz and 4KHz to be cut or boosted via the pre-MID LEVEL parameter. The pre-MID BANDWIDTH parameter determines how wide or narrow the bandwidth of the selected mid-band frequency is (in octaves). A small bandwidth only boosts or cuts frequencies close to the center frequency, while a large bandwidth affects the level of frequencies up to two octaves from the center frequency.

POST EQ (EXPERT) Function
The POST EQ (EXPERT) function is available in all presets - regardless of which configuration is currently recalled. This function allows you shape the tone after it has passed through the distortion stage. These post-distortion EQ parameters have a more dramatic effect on the overall tone than the pre-distortion parameters.
The PARAMETER SELECT control will allow you to access these POST EQ parameters: BASS LVL
The post-BASS LEVEL parameter allows you to cut or boost the low frequencies by 15dB after the distortion stage. The post-BASS FREQUENCY parameter allows you to select a center frequency between 63Hz and 500Hz to be cut or boosted by the post-BASS LEVEL parameter. The post-BASS BANDWIDTH parameter determines (in octaves) the width of the selected bass band. The post-MID LEVEL parameter allows you to cut or boost the mid-band frequencies by 15dB after the distortion stage. The post-MID FREQUENCY parameter allows you to select a mid-band center frequency between 250Hz and 2kHz to be cut or boosted via the post-MID LEVEL parameter. The post-MID BANDWIDTH parameter determines (in octaves) the width of the selected mid-band. The post-TREBLE LEVEL parameter allows you to cut or boost the high-band frequencies by 15dB after the distortion stage. The post-TREBLE FREQUENCY parameter allows you to select a high-band center frequency between 1kHz and 8kHz to be cut or boosted via the post-TREBLE LEVEL parameter. The post-TREBLE BANDWIDTH parameter determines (in octaves) the width of the selected high band. The post-PRESENCE LEVEL parameter allows you to cut or boost another high-band frequency by 15dB after the distortion stage. The post-PRESENCE FREQUENCY parameter allows you to select a high-band center frequency between 2kHz and 8kHz to be cut or boosted via the post-PRESENCE LEVEL parameter. The post-PRESENCE BANDWIDTH parameter determines (in octaves) the width of the selected high band.

PITCH SHIFT Function
The PITCH function is available only in configurations displaying "PSHF" in the configuration title. Pitch Shifting is used to change the pitch of the input signal to produce a harmony note based on the input signal. The harmony voice may be of any fixed intervalup to one octave above the input signal to two octaves belowand is selected in 20-cent increments. Fine adjustment can be made in one cent (1/ 100th semitone) increments.
The PARAMETER SELECT control will allow you to access these PITCH SHlFT parameters:

PITCH SHIFT I/O

The PITCH SHIFT IN/OUT parameter determines whether the Pitch Shifter is active or bypassed for the current preset. The LEVEL parameter determines the volume of the pitch shifted signal. The DIR/EFF MIX parameter in the Mixer function also affects this volume. The PAN parameter allows you to pan the shifted signal to the left or right channel. The PITCH parameter selects what harmony note the Chameleon will produce based on the input note. The value displayed for this parameter represents the number of cents that the signal will be shifted (adjustable in 20-cent increments). Each 100 cents (or five 20-cent steps) above or below "0" represents the number of half-steps the shifted signal will be from the input signal. This parameter is adjustable from "-2400" to "+1200", where "-2400" = two octaves below the input signal, "0" = unison and "+1200' = one octave above the input signal. Refer to the table below to determine the cent value for each fixed interval.

PAN PITCH

The FINE parameter allows for adjustment in 1-cent steps for fine adjustment of the harmony note. The SPEED parameter determines the amount of time delay used in the shifting process. SLOW results in the longest delay and the highest quality shifted signal (especially at larger amounts of pitch shift), FAST results in the least delay, but the lowest quality shifted signal. This setting should only be used for slight amounts of pitch shift.

NOTE: There are 5 steps of the parameter adjust control between each of the intervals shown above (each step equals 20 cents). This allows for smooth pitch change when an expression controller (such as a volume pedal used with a Rocktron All Access or MIDI Mate foot controller) is assigned to the PITCH parameter to change the pitch by remote means.

CHORUS Function

The CHORUS function is available only in configurations displaying "CRS" in the configuration title. The Chorus effect in the Chameleon is produced by using two delayed signals (Voice 1 and Voice 2), detuning these delayed signals (slightly changing their pitch), then modulating the detune effect so that the amount of pitch detune is constantly varying. Using different detune amounts, modulation rates, modulation depths and pan settings for each delayed signal will produce a greater perceived spaciousness.
The PARAMETER SELECT control will allow you to access these CHORUS parameters:

CHORUS I/O

The CHORUS I/O parameter determines whether the Chorus is active or bypassed for the current preset. The LEVEL 1 parameter determines the volume of Voice 1 in relation to Voice 2. The DIR/EFF MIX parameter in the Mixer function also determines the Chorus level. The PAN 1 parameter allows you to pan Voice 1 to the left or right channel. The DEPTH 1 parameter adjusts the amount of modulation of the Voice 1 signal. A lower depth setting will produce a more subtle detune effect, while a higher setting will produce a more extreme detuning of Voice 1. The RATE 1 parameter determines the sweep speed (or the speed at which Voice 1 is modulated). Lower parameter settings will result in slower speeds, while higher settings will result in faster speeds. The DELAY 1 parameter allows you to select the minimum delay time (in milliseconds) for Voice 1. This delayed signal (along with Voice 2) is detuned and modulated to produce the chorus effect. Using shorter delay times will result in a tighter sounding chorused signal, while longer delay times will produce a larger ambient effect. The LEVEL 2 parameter determines the volume of Voice 2 in relation to Voice 1. The PAN 2 parameter allows you to pan Voice 2 to the left or right channel. The DEPTH 2 parameter adjusts the amount of modulation of the Voice 2 signal. The REVERB INPUT parameter determines whether the input to the Reverb section is ACTIVE (passing a signal) or MUTED (will not pass a signal). The MIX DIRECT/DELAY parameter is used to define the ratio of direct signal to delayed signal to be input to the reverb section. The REVERB LEVEL parameter allows you to control the level of the reverb signal at the output in relation to the direct signal and other effect signals. This parameter is also accessible from the Mixer function. The REVERB DECAY parameter determines the length of time that the reverb signal will sound before it has completely died out. The REVERB HIGH FREQUENCY DAMPING parameter is used to control the decay rate of high frequency information in the reverb signal. Higher parameter settings will result in a faster decay of high frequency information.

8. Operating the Chameleon

Selecting a preset:

Step 1
Turn the PRESET control to the desired preset you wish to recall. The display will flash the selected preset number and title and "PRESS RECALL FOR" alternately.

Changing preset parameters:
Turn the FUNCTION SELECT control to select the function heading which contains the parameter(s) you wish to change.

Tap Delay

The Chameleon allows you to change the current delay time settings for the Delay 1 and Delay 2 parameters while you are playing by connecting a momentary footswitch to the rear panel FOOTSWITCH jack. When the Footswitch function is activated, tapping the footswitch will change the current delay time based on the amount of time that passes between taps. The Chameleon will detect the amount of time between any two taps that are less than one second apart (i.e., if more than one second passes after the first tap, two more taps - less than one second apart - will be required to change the delay time again). After the Chameleon detects the length of time between each tap, it then multiplies or divides that time based on the type of note stored in each of the DELAY 1 and DELAY 2 parameters of the Footswitch function. The resulting delay time can be: one-fourth of the time between taps (SIXTEEN) one-half of the time between taps (EIGHTH) two-thirds of the time between taps (TRIPLET) equal to the time between taps (QUARTER) two times the amount of time between taps (HALF), or four times the amount of time between taps (WHOLE)
The maximum delay time the Chameleon provides is 1000ms, therefore the Tap Delay feature will default to a lower parameter value when the time between taps requires a delay time over 1000ms. For example, if the WHOLE setting is stored for the Delay 1 parameter and the time between taps is 300ms, a delay time of 1200ms would be required (i.e. 300ms x 4). Because the maximum delay time is 1000ms, the Chameleon will default to the next lower multiplier (HALF) and provide a delay time two- times the delay time detected (600ms). if the delay time was over 1000ms again, the unit would then provide the QUARTER note equivalent. NONE can also be selected for the Delay 1 and Delay 2 parameters so that they will not respond to taps on the footswitch.

Turn the FUNCTION SELECT control to "FOOTSWITCH".

Turn the PARAMETER SELECT control one step clockwise to display the current momentary footswitch "TYPE" (normally open or normally closed).

Turn the PARAMETER ADJUST control to select the footswitch type that you will be using (normally "OPEN" or "CLOSED").

The number on the left of the display is the MIDI program number (or the number sent via a MIDI footswitch or other MIDI transmitter). Turn the PARAMETER SELECT control to select the MIDI program number to map to a preset.

The number on the right of the display is the preset number to map to (or the preset number that will be recalled when the MIDI program number on the left is received). Turn the PARAMETER adjust CONTROL to select the preset number to map to.

After selecting both the MIDI program number and the preset number, press the STORE button to save the change for each altered mapping. "STORED" will flash briefly on the display.

MIDI Channels

The Chameleon can receive MIDI commands from other MIDI transmitting devices, as well as transmit MIDI program changes to other MlDI-based equipment when a preset is recalled on the Chameleon via the front panel RECALL button. The MIDI Channels function allows you to select the MIDI channels that the Chameleon will receive and transmit MIDI information on.
Turn the FUNCTION SELECT control clockwise until the Chameleon displays "MIDI CHANNELS".

MIDI CHANNELS

Turn the PARAMETER SELECT control one step clockwise to display the current MIDI Receive channel.

RECEV CHANL

Turn the PARAMETER ADJUST control to select the desired MIDI channel. You may select channels 1-16, OMNI (all channels) or OFF (will not receive MIDI commands).
Press the STORE button to save the new MIDI Receive channel. "STORED" will flash briefly on the display.
Turn the PARAMETER SELECT control one step further to access the MIDI Transmit Channel status.

TRANS CHANL

Turn the PARAMETER ADJUST control to select the channel that the Chameleon will transmit a MIDI program change on. you may select channels 1-16 or OFF (will not transmit a MIDI program change).
Press the STORE button to save the new MIDI Transmit channel. "STORED" will flash briefly on the display.

MIDI Dump/Load

Any or all of the Chameleon presets may be dumped to a sequencer or another Chameleon via system exclusive messages. The information exchanged when performing a MIDI Dump consists of parameter values, title characters and controller assignment/limit information. When dumping a single preset into another Chameleon, the dumped preset may be loaded into any preset location on the receiving Chameleon.

Factory Restore

The Factory Restore function allows you to restore altered Chameleon presets to their original condition as shipped from the factory. Either the entire Chameleon memory can be restored, a single preset can be restored to any preset location, or the controller information alone can be restored. Restoring a single factory preset:
Turn the FUNCTION SELECT control clockwise to "FACTORY RESTORE".

FACTORY RESTORE

Turn the PARAMETER SELECT control one step clockwise to "RESTR 1 TO 1". The number on the left is the original factory preset number to be restored. The number on the right is the preset location that the preset will be stored into.

!! CAUTION !! Pressing the STORE button at this time will overwrite
the current preset with the displayed factory preset. Press the STORE button to begin restoring the selected preset into the selected location. After the process is completed, the display should read "ERRORS 0". This represents the number of bytes that the Chameleon found did not initialize properly. Any number of errors other than "0" means that the Chameleon may not have initialized properly and the process should be repeated.

ERRORS

The Chameleon will remain in this condition until the FUNCTION SELECTcontrol is turned to exit the Factory Restore function. The preset currently recalled will be the preset most recently restored into the current location.
Restoring all factory presets: !! CAUTION !! This procedure will permanently erase all user presets (1-254) and replace them with the original factory presets. If you have altered and stored presets which you do not want to
erase, do not perform the following procedure.

ALL RESTORE

Turn the PARAMETER SELECT control two steps clockwise to "ALL RESTORE 0". A specific code number must be entered to restore the Chameleon memory. Use the PARAMETER ADJUST control to enter the number "243".

! ! WARNING ! ! Pressing the STORE button at this time will permanently erase all user presets and replace them with the original factory presets. If you have altered and stored presets which you do not want to erase, turn the
FUNCTION SELECT control to exit this function.
Press the STORE button at this time to initiate the All Restore procedure and erase all current Chameleon presets, replacing them with the original factory presets. The Chameleon will display

INITIALIZING

"INITIALIZING" as the Chameleon memory is restored. After the All Restore process is completed, the display should read "ERRORS 0". This is the number of bytes that the Chameleon found that did not initialize properly. Any number of errors other than "0"
means that the Chameleon may not have initialized properly and the process should be repeated. The Chameleon will remain in this condition until the FUNCTION SELECT control is turned to exit the Factory Restore function. The preset currently recalled will be the preset most recently restored into the current location.
Restoring the Chameleon controller assignments: The controller assignments for the Chameleon can also be reinitialized without affecting presets and other stored information. Reinitialization of the controller assignments is necessary when setting up the Chameleon to operate in remote mode with a Rocktron All Access footswitch. To reinitialize only the controller assignments, enter a code number of "244" at Step 3 above.
Selecting a Power on Preset:
The Chameleon allows you to store a Power On preset which will always be recalled when the unit is turned on.
Turn the PRESET control to the preset number you wish to be recalled each time the unit is turned on.

Recall the selected preset by pressing the RECALL button. Press the STORE button while viewing the preset number and title to save it as the Power On preset.

Rear Panel

PEDAL 1 jack
This " mono jack allows for the connection of a continuous controller (such as an expression pedal, volume pedal, fader, etc.) to the All Access. This " mono jack allows for the connection of a second continuous controller to the All Access. This 7-pin DIN connector accepts the MIDI output signal from another MIDI transmitting device which may be used to control the All Access. In some applications, MIDI information will also be sent out through the MIDI IN jack through pins 1 and 3. This 7-pin DIN connector transmits MIDI information from the All Access and connects to a MIDI receiving device or the first in a chain of MIDI receiving devices. In some applications, MIDI information will also be received through the MIDI OUT jack through pins 1 and 3. Pins 6 and 7 of this connector provide phantom power to the All Access from your rack.

Typical Setup

Using Phantom Power
Phantom power allows for the All Access to be powered from your rack (or from an AC outlet near your rack) instead of running a long extension cord out across the stage to the footswitch. Using phantom power with a Rocktron MIDI receiving device

(a) press the "2ND" button again (turning the "2ND" L.E.D. off) to exit the editing mode; or (b) press the "" button to access additional SETUP editing pages; or (c) press another mode button to edit All Access features other than SETUP.
SETUP, Page 2 of 10 - Bank Size
The second page of the SETUP program allows for the selection of the Bank Size, or the number of presets that the All Access will bank up or down by when the UP or DOWN switches are pressed. When set to "5", switches 1-5 become preset switches and the unit will bank up or down by 5 presets at a time. When set to "10", switches 1-10 become preset switches and the unit will bank up or down by 10 presets at a time. When set to "15", switches 1-15 become preset switches and the unit banks up or down by 15 presets at a time. When set to "1", the unit banks up or down by one preset at a time and all of the switches become instant access switches. The Bank Size setting also determines the number of preset switches for each song when operating the All Access in Song mode.
About Preset and Instant Access Switches:
The All Access can be configured so that one row (switches 1-5), two rows (switches 1-10) or three rows (switches 1-15) of switches can be dedicated as preset switches, or switches that are used to select the various presets within each bank. Preset switches send out commands which can reconfigure a whole rack. Any switches that are not configured as preset switches automatically become instant access switches - or switches that are used to send specific MIDI controller information on specific MIDI channels. Instant access switches are used to switch in or out a specific effect or function on a MIDI receiving device - thereby giving the user direct control over that specific effect or function without affecting other effects, functions or presets within a rack of devices. Instant access switches can operate globally or per preset (see Setup, Page 4), and each can be configured to operate as a latching, momentary or hold type switch. (To configure instant access switches, refer to MIDI, Pages 2-4.)

To Select the Bank Size:

() With the All Access still in SETUP mode (2ND and SETUP L.E.D.s lit), press the "" switch to access the second page of the SETUP program, Bank Size. (If the All Access is not already in SETUP mode, press "2ND", then "SETUP", followed by "" one time.) To select a new bank size, press the "INC" or "DEC" switches directly below the currently selected option to scroll through the available selections.

The third page of the SETUP program, Bank Style, determines how the next preset will be recalled when the All Access is banked up or down. If the Bank Style parameter is set to "First", the first preset in the new bank will be recalled when the unit is banked up or down. If set to "Curnt", the current preset switch from the previous bank will be recalled. When set to "None", an additional preset switch must be pressed after banking up or down to recall the desired preset. FIRST - recalls the first preset in the bank; CURNT - recalls the preset based on the last preset switch pressed; NONE - recalls a preset when a preset switch is pressed
To select the Bank Style:

The fourth page of the SETUP program determines whether the controller values sent from the All Access are global (the same for all presets) or set on a per preset basis. When set to "GLOBAL", the controller channel, control number, "on" value and "off" value that is sent when an instant access switch is pressed is the same for all presets. When set to "PER PR", the controller channel, control number, "on" value and "off" value that is sent when an instant access switch is pressed can be programmed for each individual preset.
To change the instant access switch operating status:
Note: When scrolling through the switches to program, only those switches which are configured as instant access switches can be accessed.
With the 2ND L.E.D. still lit, press the "" switch to access the next page of the SETUP program. (If the All Access is not already in SETUP mode, press "2ND", then "SETUP", followed by "" three times.) To select a specific instant access switch, use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the currently selected switch. The current setting for each switch or pedal will be displayed. To select whether the displayed switch is configured as "GLOBAL" or "PER PR", use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the currently displayed option.

To select the starting preset number:

The seventh page of the SETUP program, MIDI Filtering, allows for incoming MIDI signals to either be merged with the footswitch's MIDI information or selectively blocked. Filtering may be done either by message type or by MIDI channel.
To change the MIDI filtering status:

(If the All Access is not already in SETUP mode, press "2ND", then "SETUP", followed by "" six times.) The eighth page of the SETUP program, Preset Reinitialization, allows for the restoration of an individual preset to its original factory settings. This procedure will erase any modifications that the user has made to a specific preset and return it to its original condition.
To reinitialize an individual preset:
WARNING! The Preset Reinitialization feature will erase all data for the selected preset and return it to its original condition as shipped from the factory. Once the STORE switch is pressed, all erased data will be unrecoverable!
With the 2ND L.E.D. still lit, press the "" switch to access the eighth page of the SETUP program. (If the All Access is not already in SETUP mode, press "2ND", then "SETUP", followed by "" seven times.) To select the preset to be reinitialized, use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the preset currently displayed. Pressing the STORE switch at this time will erase the current settings for the displayed preset and return them to their original condition as shipped from the factory. All erased data will be unrecoverable. Once the desired preset is selected, press the "STORE" switch to reinitialize the selected preset.

Remote mode notes: When operating the All Access in remote mode with a Rocktron rack unit, changes made from the rack unit itself will be reflected on the footswitch. For example, if button 6 on the All Access is configured to control the Delay In/Out parameter on the rack unit, switching out the delay from the rack unit instead of the All Access will cause the L.E.D. for button 6 on the footswitch to turn off. In addition, when a preset is changed from the rack unit, the rack sends the status of its mapped parameters to the All Access, causing the corresponding L.E.D.s to turn on or off to reflect the proper status. In Remote mode, control changes are not sent when an All Access preset switch is pressed, as the status of the instant access switches will be determined by the rack unit.
The tenth page of the SETUP program isRemote Title Number. By matching the remote title number with that of another Rocktron product, the titles from the other Rocktron unit will be transmitted to the All Access and displayed when operating in REMOTE mode.

The MIDI program provides access to the MIDI features of the All Access footswitch. Use the MIDI program to assign each of the following: Programmable patch changes; Control numbers and channels to instant access switches and pedals; Control values to instant access switches and pedals; Instant access switch types; Program change status; Program mapping; and, All Access MIDI receive channel Upon accessing MIDI, the first page of the MIDI program, Programmable Patch Changes, will automatically be displayed.
MIDI, Page 1 of 7 - Programmable Patch Changes
The first page of the MIDI program, Programmable Patch Changes, allows for the assignment of up to 16 programmable patch changes for each All Access preset. Programmable patch changes are sent when an All Access preset is recalled to aid in selecting the desired preset on a remote MIDI receiving unit. This page of the MIDI program allows for the assignment of program changes to All Access presets. The programmable patch changes are arranged by patch number.

To access MIDI:

() To access MIDI, press the "2ND" button to activate the secondary button functions. () Press the "MIDI" button. The L.E.D. above the "MIDI" button will flash and the All Access will display the first page of the MIDI program. Pressing the "" button while in the 2ND mode accesses each successive page.
To assign programmable patch changes:
Note: If the starting preset number is set to "0" (as described in SETUP, page 6), then program changes 0-127 can be accessed. If the starting preset number is set to "1", then program changes 1-128 can be accessed.
() Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the displayed preset number to select the preset to which patch changes will be assigned. () Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the displayed MIDI channel to select the MIDI channel to send a particular program change on. Note: If names have been assigned to MIDI channels (as described in SETUP, Page 5), then the name of each channel will be displayed, instead of the channel number. () Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the currently displayed patch change to select the patch change that is to take place on the given MIDI channel for the selected preset. MIDI program changes are sent when the preset is recalled.
Repeat steps through for each of the desired presets.

MIDI, Page 2 of 7 - Control Number Assignment
The second page of the MIDI program, Control Number Assignment, allows for control numbers and MIDI channels to be assigned to instant access switches and pedals. This feature allows for a pedal or instant access switch to control a specific parameter of another MIDI device. For example, if the Gain parameter of a Rocktron Chameleon preamp was mapped to controller number 8, assigning the P1 (Pedal 1) parameter of the All Access to controller 8 on the same MIDI channel would allow for an expression pedal connected to the PEDAL 1 jack on the All Access to continuously control the gain level of the Chameleon. In addition, multiple parameters assigned to the same controller will allow you to control all of the assigned parameters simultaneously. It is important that the control numbers and MIDI channels match between the parameters to be controlled on the outboard MIDI device and the pedal or instant access switch on the All Access. Similarly, assigning a control number to an instant access switch will also allow you to control a specific parameter of another MIDI device. Once a parameter (or multiple parameters) of another MIDI device is mapped to the same controller number assigned to an All Access instant access switch, each time the instant access switch is pressed, an "on" or "off" controller value will be sent from the All Access and toggle between two parameter values. The parameter values that are toggled between are determined by the control value sent each time the instant access switch is pressed (see MIDI, Page 3 - Control Number Assignment). If specific control values are not assigned by the user, pressing the instant access switch will toggle between the highest and lowest values for that parameter.

Note: When operating in BANK or SONG mode, the status of each instant access switch is stored in the All Access.
To assign control numbers to switches/pedals:
() With the 2ND L.E.D. still lit, press the "" switch to access the second page of the MIDI program, Control Number Assignment. (If the All Access is not already in the MIDI editing mode, press "2ND", then "MIDI" followed by "" once.) Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the displayed instant access switch to select the switch or pedal to which control numbers and channels will be assigned. (Only those switches which are configured as instant access switches will be accessible.) Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the displayed MIDI channel to select the MIDI channel to be assigned to the selected switch or pedal. Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the currently displayed control number to select the control number to be assigned to the selected switch/pedal.

MIDI, Page 3 of 7 - Control Value Assignment
The third page of the MIDI program, Control Value Assignment, allows for "on" and "off" controller values to be assigned to instant access switches and pedals. Control changes can be sent went an instant access switch is pressed or a controller pedal is moved to aid in selecting a desired control value When controlling specific parameters of other MIDI devices, the "on" and "off" control values assigned to an instant access switch determine the high and low parameter values that will be toggled between on the MIDI receiving device. When assigning control values to a pedal, the "on" and "off" values assigned determine the range over which the pedal will provide continuous control. Typically, the "on" value is the higher value and determines the control value sent when the pedal is set at the toe position. The "off" value is generally the lower value and determines the control value sent when the pedal is set at the heel position. However, these values can also be reversed so that the toe position of the pedal provides the lower value and the heel position provides the higher value.

MIDI, Page 6 of 7 - Program Mapping
This page allows for incoming program changes to be mapped to All Access presets when the Program Change Status is set to "MAP" (see MIDI, Page5). This feature is only available when operating the All Access in Bank Mode.
To assign the program mapping status:
() With the 2ND L.E.D. still lit, press the "" switch to access the next page of the MIDI program, Program Mapping. (If the All Access is not already in the MIDI editing mode, press "2ND", then "MIDI", followed by "" five times.) () Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the displayed Program Change number to select the desired Program Change number to be mapped to an All Access preset. () Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the displayed preset number to select the All Access preset that the displayed program change number will be mapped to.

MIDI, Page 7 of 7 - MIDI Receive Channel
The seventh page of the MIDI program,MIDI Receive Channel, determines the MIDI channel that incoming program changes must be on for the All Access to respond. (This feature is operable only in Bank Mode - see SETUP, Page 1).

COPY, Page 2 of 4 - Bank Copy
The second page of the COPY program, Bank Copy, allows for an entire bank of presets to be copied from one bank location to another. When the All Access is configured to bank by 5 presets at a time:
Note: If the All Access is configured to bank by one preset at a time (see SETUP, Page 2), this page is not available.
Bank Copy will copy 5 presets Bank 1 = Presets 1-5 Bank 2 = Presets 6-10 Bank 3 = Presets 11-15.and so on
If configured to bank by 10 presets at a time: Bank Copy will copy 10 presets Bank 1 = Presets 1-10 Bank 2 = Presets 11-20 Bank 3 = Presets 21-30.and so on
If configured to bank by 15 presets at a time: Bank Copy will copy 15 presets Bank 1 = Presets 1-15 Bank 2 = Presets 16-30 Bank 3 = Presets 31-45.and so on
To copy a bank of presets to another bank location:
() With the 2ND L.E.D. still lit, press the "" switch to access the next page of the copy program, Bank Copy. (If the All Access is not already in the COPY editing mode, press "2ND", then "COPY", followed by "".) Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the displayed bank to be copied to select the desired bank. Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the displayed bank destination to select the desired bank location to copy to. Press the "CTR STORE" button to initiate the copy.

COPY, Page 3 of 4 - Song Copy
The third page of the COPY program, Song Copy, allows for a song to be copied from one song location to another. Song Copy copies the presets and locations associated with the song to be copied.
Tip: If only a few changes need to be made to an existing song to create a new song, copy the existing song and make the changes to the new song. This will be much quicker and easier than creating an entirely new song.
To copy a song to another song location:
() With the 2ND L.E.D. still lit, press the "" switch to access the next page of the copy program, Song Copy. (If the All Access is not already in the COPY editing mode, press "2ND", then "COPY", followed by "" two times.) () Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the displayed song to be copied to select the desired song. () Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the displayed song destination to select the desired song location to copy to. The current song displayed at the "copy to" location will be lost once the copy is initiated. () Press the "CTR STORE" button to initiate the copy. "COPYING" will be displayed momentarily before returning to the Song Copy screen.

To create a custom preset title:
() Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the preset number currently displayed to select a preset to name. A flashing decimal character is used to indicate which character position may currently be edited. Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the center of the display to select a character for the first character position of the new title. Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the right side of the display to move the flashing decimal character to the next character position to be edited.
The new title will be saved automatically upon advancing to another preset or exiting the TITLES program.

To create preset titles

Title select A-Z, 0-9 for each character

When the desired preset titles have been created: (a) press the "2ND" button again (turning the "2ND" L.E.D. off) to exit the editing mode; or (b) press another mode button to edit All Access features other than TITLES.

SONG/SET

SONG/SET allows for presets to be assigned to the preset switches to create a SONG (or a custom bank of presets). Multiple SONGS can then be arranged in a bank order to create a SET. One SET is made up of 50 banks of songs. The SONG/ SET program also allows for selection of the current operating set when operating the All Access in Song mode (see SETUP, Page 1).
SONG/SET, Page 1 of 3 - Set Select
The first page of the SONG/SET program allows for the selection of the current operating set.

To access SONG/SET:

() () To access SONG/SET, press the "2ND" button to activate the secondary button functions. Press the "SONG/SET" button. The L.E.D. above the "SONG/SET" button will flash and the All Access will display the first page of the SONG/SET program.
To select the current operating set:
() Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the set number currently displayed to select the desired set.

SONG/SET, Page 2 of 3 - Song Create

The second page of the SONG/SET program, Song Create, allows you to create a custom bank of presets by assigning presets to the All Access preset switches. If the All Access is configured to bank by 1 preset at a time, only 1 preset per song is available. If the All Access is configured to bank by 5 presets at a time, 5 presets per song are available. If the All Access is configured to bank by 10 presets at a time, 10 presets per song are available. If the All Access is configured to bank by 15 presets at a time, 15 presets per song are available.

To create a song:

() With the 2ND L.E.D. still lit, press the "" switch to access the next page of the SONG/SET program, Song Create. (If the All Access is not already in the SONG/SET editing mode, press "2ND", then "SONG/SET", followed by "".) Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the displayed song number to select the desired song. A total of 150 songs are available. Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the displayed switch to select a preset switch to assign a preset to. (Only those switches configured as preset switches are available.) Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the displayed preset to select the preset to be assigned to the selected switch.
Repeat steps () through () until each preset switch has been assigned a preset.

() Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the displayed bank to select a bank to assign a song to. () Use the "INC" and "DEC" switches directly below the displayed song to select the song to be assigned to the displayed bank. Repeat steps () through () until each preset switch has been assigned a preset.
