Easy Operation

Just because the VGA-5 employs some mind-boggling technology doesnt mean it has to be hard to use. In fact, its front panel is refreshingly simple; there are knobs for Amp Type, Gain, Volume, 3-Band EQ, Presence, Speaker Type and Effects, plus dedicated buttons for turning on or off each of four effects. True to form, each of the VGA-5s knobs yield a response modeled distinctly after the original version. So using these familiar analog-style controls, you can dial in your sound in seconds. Then just save your sounds to one of 10 User memories (or one of 40 memories using the optional GFC-50 Foot Controller). Great amp tone was never this easy!

The VGA-5 offers dynamic and responsive COSM models of 11 distinct amp typesfrom vintage and modern tube amps to solid-state and acoustic amps - plus 11 speaker cabinet selections. These amp models sound like nothing youve ever heard from a digital amp before: sparkling clean sounds, warm bluesy tones or earth-shaking highgain mayhem. And unlike other digital modeling amps, the VGA-5 actually responds to your picking dynamics and guitar volume in the same highly musical manner as the amps being modeled.

Killer Effects

The VGA-5 includes four independent onboard effects processors: an EFX processor which includes wah, tremolo, compressor, Slow Gear, phaser and flanger; plus dedicated Delay, Chorus, and Reverb processors. Any EFX algorithm can be combined with a delay, chorus, or reverb algorithm, giving you up to four simultaneous effects. All effects sounds can be tweaked using the simple knobbased controls, and then saved along with amp model and speaker cabinet into a single patch. Effects are also controllable via optional footswitches or MIDI foot controller, which can provide instant patch selection, tap tempo, and more.
