I needed a board that could support 2560X1600 resolution and run on my system that has a 240 Watt power supply. This card does it great. I run this as a secondary video card in my PC.
quaxter 11:47am on Friday, September 10th, 2010
Cards are getting REAL cheap, and there are tons to choose from. Decent 256MB card that supports 8x AGP.Price is $40 by now. I would consider this a Budget card. I notice...  101 CAD (35$ US rebate), big difference between ATI Radeon X200 Not good with DX10 games The Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT by eVGA is an extrodinary card for the price, the power it has to handle all the new games out to date.

I have an older (from 2003) computer that still worked well, although it was in dire need of some updating. I decided to get it a new hard drive.

"This card is a powerhouse. It worked great with every game I threw at it, even Crysis. If you turn up the fan speed a bit, it overclocks well too. "This is really a great graphics card for the price.
tsuren-m 10:24pm on Tuesday, July 20th, 2010
I would consider this a Budget card. I notice a big difference increase in my FPS in games between ATI Radeon X200 (integrated).
primoz 11:21am on Sunday, June 13th, 2010
Pros: EXCELLENT LINUX SUPPORT, Silent, 256mb, DDR2, Dual monitor out, optional low profile bracket. Cons: AGP, not the fastest card around. well, its not a such high-end processor. but i strongly recommend it because of its value for money.
drshivam 5:21am on Saturday, June 5th, 2010
Does as I hoped for Stuck it in to an aging NetVista and it gave the graphics a new lease of life. Graphic card update! I recently upgraded the graphic card in my PC from 128MB to 256MB. too high powered Seems a really super graphics card at a knock-down price! We bought this to replace a defunct card in a 2 year old Dell.
felefort 7:44am on Saturday, May 15th, 2010
Good video card for the price I got this video card as a replacement for my 8800GT, which crapped out after two years. So far.
pascal13 5:53pm on Thursday, May 13th, 2010
This card has provided trouble free performance and handled everything I have thrown at it. Even with two additional fans, one above one below, it was still running pretty warm Good for the money Died after 2 years, runs hot
Hulsman 7:06pm on Thursday, May 6th, 2010
I know my review is well behind the others already on here, but I only bought my 8800GTX around a month or so ago. Either way. The stereotypical view of a gaming pc is that of a ludicrously expensive, liquid nitrogen cooled.

The "SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine" delivers the expressivity of an acoustic grand piano.
All models are equipped with our newly developed SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine, which was born by bringing together V-Piano technology and 88-key stereo multisampling technology. This new sound engine is the product of Rolands deep research of the characteristics of acoustic pianos, with the goal of faithfully reproducing the rich tone and expressivity of a concert grand piano. The maximum polyphony of 128 is more than enough for even the most complex pieces. not only decreases in volume, but also gradually changes in color to a softer tone. The SuperNATURAL piano sound engine replicates this natural decay, just as in an acoustic grand.

Expressivity in every single key
Each of the 88 notes on a grand piano has its own character, due to the fact that the strings are different sizes and lengths, use different materials, and are struck by hammers of different sizes. These differences create variations in the tone color and resonance of each note. For the new SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine, Roland sampled all 88 notes of a variety of world-class pianos and used its unique digital technology to faithfully reproduce the full, rich tone and expressivity of the worlds finest pianos.
Inspiring expressivity made possible by Roland's powerful technologies
All models feature "Piano Resonance", which faithfully reproduces the sympathetic vibrations*1 between strings, as well as other subtle nuances such as variations in lingering tones according to how quickly keys are released*2. It even replicates the resonance one hears while the damper pedal is depressed and the dampers move off the strings*3. HP307 and HP305 also offer "Grand Piano Presence II", which uses high and full-range stereo speakers in a special design to replicate the unique aural presence of a grand piano. High notes are heard from "above the player and rich basses emanate from below, near the floor. The flagship HP307 features "Piano Designer", which lets the user customize all components of the piano's sound, including even the position of the "virtual" grand piano lid.
*1 String Resonance *2 Key Off Resonance *3 Damper Resonance
Expressivity according to the players touch
Pianos produce differences not only in volume, but also subtle variations in tone color, depending on how forcefully the key is struck. Using Rolands latest technology, the Variation in tone color produced by SuperNATURAL piano sound the SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine with heavier touch. engine delivers natural and seamless changes in tone color in response to the players touch. Its expanded dynamic range supports the most advanced and subtle pp p mp mf f ff techniques, just as one would expect in an acoustic grand piano. *The graph and drawings are artist's conceptions.

Continuous detection pedals respond to the player's sensitivities.
The damper and soft pedals continuously detect the slightest differences in the amount they are depressed, thus supporting a full range of pedal expression. For example, there are subtle changes in tone where the damper is barely touching the string. There are also variations in the sustain of a sound when you depress the pedal gradually. The pedals even support the most subtle expression, such as depressing the pedal again after releasing it for an instant.
Expressivity of decaying sounds
The natural decay of notes and beautiful lingering tones are important elements of a pianos sound. The decaying sound of an acoustic piano

DESIGN

Beautiful cabinet design and finishes compliment any decor
We paid meticulous attention to design details, just as we did with tone and touch. Cabinet parts and control panels are coordinated according to wood grain and matching colors. The front legs add both stability and style. Brass music holders*1 and large music rests*2 help you manage a variety of music scores. The three pedals have a traditional lateral design that allows smoother pedal movements. And all models feature the Classic fallboard position to conceal the control panel and display when desired. Available finishes include the traditional satin black, a warm rosewood wood grain, and a mirrorlike polished ebony.
*1 HP307, HP305 *2 HP307, HP305
Ease of use is always a Roland advantage.
The simple and intuitive control panel affords quick and easy access to the HP Series numerous features and applications, and the HP307 offers a large LCD panel for the ideal visual interface with the instrument. Frequently used connection jacks are conveniently located near the front of all models and all come with a handy headphone hook.
All HP series models feature the Classic Position.
The PHA II and PHA III keyboards translate the emotions of the player into sound.
Their natural touch is not produced by springs, but instead by the hammer's weight and movement. Just as in an acoustic piano, the lower notes feel slightly heavier and the higher notes feel lighter. The PHA II and PHA III keyboards also faithfully replicate the unique response of grand pianos, where the keys move downward lightly when you play softly and give more resistance when you play more forcefully.
Simulated escapement replicates the feel and response of a grand piano
Depress a key slowly and you will feel the resistance grow gradually and then become lighter again. This occurs on acoustic pianos when the hammer releases or escapes from the key mechanism. By replicating this, the PHA II and PHA III keyboards further enhance the superb response and expressivity of Roland pianos.

The "PHA III" keyboard translates into sound the differences in how you play.
The HP307 comes with the "PHA III" keyboard, which delivers superior repetition and expressivity than the "PHA II" keyboard. Along with the "SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine," subtle differences in how one plays are faithfully reflected in the sound.
Select a comfortable touch and enjoy playing to your heart's content.
On all Roland Digital Pianos, users can choose* between different touch sensitivity from light to standard and heavy. You can adjust the touch response of your keyboard depending on how strong your fingers are or for particular practice objectives.
* The HP307 offers 100 levels of touch sensitivity.
Roland pays attention to important details in areas that you do not see.
The length of the hidden portion of the keys has been made as long as possible, so that the fulcrum is located further back on the keys. This reduces the difference in touch response from the front to the rear of the keys, replicating the longer keys and superior response of a grand piano and further enhancing the natural playing feel of the Roland Digital Piano.
Relationship between key length and touch weight
Key is the optimum length (PHA III / PHA II) Long Fulcrum Key is too short Short Fulcrum Unnaturally heavy Natural touch
The Ivory-Feel keyboard replicates the texture of ivory and ebony.
Modeled after high-end acoustic grand pianos, the white and black key tops are made of a material that replicates the unique appearance and texture of real ivory and ebony keys. The white keys consist of a twopiece "surface over base material" construction to create the same Finger moisture appearance you would find on an acoustic piano and reduce the noise of fingernails tapping the keys. Thanks to its moisture-absorbing characteristics, Moisture Moisture absorption Keyboard absorption the more you play the Ivory-Feel keyboard, the better it feels. A comfortable texture has been achieved with the use

LESSON & ENTERTAINMENT
Features only available in the digital realm help expand your musical world.
A 3-track recorder lets you easily record, playback, and save your performances. This offers numerous benefits for both performance and practice, including the ability to work with left hand and right hand parts separately. The Twin Piano function allows you to split the keyboard left and right into two regions, each with Same key C its own middle C and damper pedal. Two players wearing headphones can then play completely independently without hearing one another (Individual Twin-Piano), a powerful application for partner lessons or piano labs. Of course, the ability to hear yourself privately on headphones has always been a major advantage of digital instruments, since it allows you to play anywhere, Damper pedal, Damper pedal, left-key range right-key range anytime without disturbing others.

Enjoy playing your favorite songs along with full backing tracks
The HP series all come with a wide range of built-in songs, ranging from classical to jazz. However, you can also playback commercially available SMF music files or audio files stored on a standard USB flash memory device (sold separately). With the optional Roland CD-01A CD Drive, you can even play back and play along with songs directly from a standard audio CD. During playback of the built-in songs or SMF music files from a USB memory stick, you can alter or mute individual tracks, such as a piano solo, to create an exciting ensemble performance. Since you can alter both the key and tempo independently, you can slow down playback when learning a new piece or find a more comfortable key for a song with which you want to sing along. During playback of audio files from USB memory, you can also alter key and tempo independently, as well as minimize the lead vocal or instrument via the Center Cancel function. All models also boast over 300 GM2/GS tones with layer and split capability to support almost any musical performance or study.
