Product Description

Digimax i5 is a digital camera and it is 59.8mm(H) 17.1mm(W)89.6mm. Digimax i5 weighs 164.3g itself and it has totally 5,300 thousands pixels and effective 5,100 thousands pixels. And it has 2.5 color TFT-LCD monitor and it uses SD/MMC as for memory media. It has varied functions- voice recording, out focusing, photo frame, separately taking etc. Moreover it supports multi-language service.

Environmental Information
Functional unit A digital camera with battery, charger, memory media is considered as for functional unit. System boundary and data collection System boundary for EDP certification is cradle to grave i.e. extracting & manufacturing phase of raw material, manufacturing phase of product, transporting phase, using phase and disposing phase. Major parts and assembling phase are included in manufacturing phase of product. In principle, site-data should be collected in all phases and must be collected especially in manufacturing process of major parts & assembling process of manufacturing phase of product. For more detailed information on manufacturing process of major parts & assembling process, refer PCR(Product Category Rule) of digital camera to MoE(Ministry of Environment) Data quality requirement Data for EDP is consist of site-data and public open-data. Site-data should be accumulated for one year in recent 3 years ideally. In case of Digimax i5, data is accumulated in common part for 2004 and in exclusive part for 2 months(from January to February, 2005). Also, public open-data used in extracting &
manufacturing phase of raw material, transporting phase, using phase and disposing phase is accumulated from 1994 to 2004 and national LCI DB is accumulated from 1999 to 2004 in Korea. Limitation Data in manufacturing phase of product is collected when Digimax i5 is not produced yet so to apply more correct data, common data and blueprint are used in LCI DB. For raw material into manufacturing part & products, public open-data is used and first of all national LCI DB is considered. If material data isnt in national LCI DB, according to similarity to material, industry data and LCI DB in LCA S/W is applied. If data couldnt be collected from supplier, Samsung Techwin itself analyze weights of parts from pre-product. In case of part that its specification isnt decided yet or is produced from abroad, data is considered as data gap. Digital camera with all accessories assume to be collected for disposal according to scenario in PSC. For package and battery are able to be recycled , recycling ratio of material in 2003 national waste generation & disposal(by MoE, 2004) is used to apply scenario. Other waste assumes to be incinerated. If way to transport isnt clearly, transport assumes to be by trucks and if distance isnt recorded, high-way distance between cities is applied.
