LCD PRODUCT: BULLETIN NUMBER: ASC20080411001 BULLETIN DATE: April 11, 2008 LN40A650A1FXZA; MODELS: LN46A650A1FXZA; LN52A650A1FXZA SUBJECT: Firmware update to solve intermittent power turn off then turn on SYMPTOM: The TV will turn itself off and then back on intermittently PROCEDURE: How to process your warranty claim Samsung has recently suggested a firmware update to customers that have purchased the LN40A650A1F, LN46A650A1F, and LN52A650A1F. If you are contacted by a Samsung customer to perform a firmware update for any reason, refer them to the website below for instructions on how to update their firmware or to call 1-800-Samsung. Warranty claims for firmware adjustment only will not be accepted unless previously approved by either the Customer Care Center (supplying a transaction number), or your Regional Service Engineer (approving an existing service ticket). However, the firmware version should always be confirmed and updated during normal service repairs. Refer to GSPN for service bulletin on firmware version and update instructions. Also, please note in any case Samsung will pay only one warranty claim for firmware update per serial number.

REPAIR: This is a software update only; no parts are required to correct this symptom 1. This problem was corrected in early production by either performing a software update or inserting an update kit into the shipping box. 2. First, check for current software version currently installed. a. Press Menu on remote control b. Scroll to Setup; press Enter c. Scroll to SW Setup; press Info d. Version number will display at the bottom of the screen (top line, see example below) Example: T-AMBAUSC-1002.3 shows s/w version is 1002.3
3. If the current s/w version is not 1003.M or above and it is listed in the serial number range chart below; download the latest version from GSPN onto a memory drive and install into the TV. Instructions on how to download and install the latest version are included on GSPN.
