Beautiful camera with tank like construction I have been using this camera for over two years now and have been very pleased with the images it takes ... camera case pretty basic camera case ,no pockets for media cards, only a belt loop ,no shoulder strap. Not very Impressed. Very Dissapointed Like the previous poster I found the same problems. Picture taking is not very forgiving with this camera.

Ten plus mega pixels for great quality, fast shutter speed, nice zoom, small compact size. None, maybe too small for some.

Got this for $199 USD. What a bargain !!! Similar to the other NV cameras. I like the larger LCD screen and manual controls. I normally shoot with my Canon 30D mostly in concert lighting, hand held with either the Canon f2.8 24-70 or Canon f2.8 70-200IS lens. Usually.

For someone who has little experience in using a digital camera, this device is not only gorgeous in design. 10.1 million pixels, numerous zooms, automatic shake reduction Touch buttons activate when aiming to take a picture The Samsung NV11 is one of our best sellers to photographers who fall into the intermediate category, due to its reasonable price, durable build.

Caution

CAUTION indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in a minor or moderate injury. Leaking, overheating, or damaged battery could result in fire or injury. Use battery with the correct specification for the camera. Do not short circuit, heat or dispose of battery in fire. Do not insert the battery with the polarities reversed. Remove the battery when not planning to use the camera for a long period of time. Otherwise the battery may leak corrosive electrolyte and permanently damage the cameras components. Do not fire the flash while it is in contact with hands or objects. Do not touch the flash after using it continuously. It may cause burns. Do not move the camera while it is switched on, if you are using the AC Charger. After use, always switch off the camera before unplugging the cable from the wall socket. Then make sure that any connector cords or cables to other devices are disconnected before moving the camera. Failure to do so may damage the cords or cables and cause a fire or electric shock. Take care not to touch the lens or lens cover to avoid taking an unclear image and possibly causing camera malfunction. Avoid obstructing the lens or the flash when you capture an image. Before inserting any cables or AC adapter, check the directions and do not insert by force. It may cause breakage of cable or camera. Credit cards may be demagnetized if left near case. Avoid leaving magnetic strip cards near the case.

Instructions on how to use the memory card
Be sure to format the memory card (see p.52) if you are using a newly purchased memory for the first time, if it contains data that the camera cannot recognise, or if it contains images captured with a different camera. Turn off the camera power whenever the memory card is being inserted or removed. Repeated use of the memory card will eventually reduce its performance. Should this be the case, you will need to purchase a new memory card. Wear and tear on the memory card is not covered by the Samsung warranty. The memory card is an electronic precision device. Do not bend, drop or subject it to any heavy impact. Do not store the memory card in an environment with strong electronic or magnetic fields, e.g. near loud speakers or TV receivers. Please do not use or store in an environment where there are extremes in temperature. Do not allow the memory card to become dirty or to come into contact with any liquid. Should this happen, clean the memory card with a soft cloth.

Doing so may damage the memory card slot.
Please keep the memory card in its case when not in use. During and after periods of extended use, you may notice that the memory card is warm. This is perfectly normal. Do not use a memory card that is used in another digital camera. To use the memory card in this camera, format the memory card using this camera. Do not use a memory card formatted by another digital camera or memory card reader.
If the memory card is subjected to any of the following, the recorded data may become corrupted : - When the memory card is used incorrectly. - If the power is switched off or the memory card is removed while recording, deleting (formatting) or reading. Samsung cannot be held responsible for lost data. It is advisable to copy important data onto other media as back-up e.g. floppy disks, hard disks, CD etc. If there is insufficient memory available : A [Memory Full!] message will appear and the camera will not operate. To optimise the amount of memory in the camera, replace the memory card or delete unnecessary images stored on the memory card. The camera can use SD Memory Cards and MMC (Multi Media Cards). When using MMC cards, please consult the instructions supplied with the cards.

User instructions

Choosing an eyepiece (50065 DCC adapter only) HDF/HR eyepieces For best overall image quality and the widest choice of magnifications at which a full frame image is obtained use any of the following eyepieces: HDF T 40810, HDF T 40937 with 50067 insert or HR 40812 with 50069 in combination with 50068 and 50067 inserts. Depending on the focal length and objective dia. of your telescope, other suitable eyepieces may include; HDF T 40862, HDF T 40872, HDF T 40809, HRand HR2 40930. 1. Initial setup Before connecting everything together, set up your telescope and eyepiece on a tripod as you would for viewing, making sure your chosen eyepiece is screwed firmly into position. Focus on an object in the normal way until the image being viewed comes into sharp focus. Twisttype eyecups should be in the down position and fold down rubber eyecups should be removed from the eyepiece. 2. Preparing the camera and lens mount Loosen the locking ring on the lens mount and slide the mount over the lens housing on the camera until it fits flush against the front of the camera body. [Fig. 1] Holding the camera and locking ring section of the lens mount in one hand, turn the main tube of the lens mount clockwise until the mount is securely tightened. [Fig. 2] 3. Preparing and fitting your chosen DCC adapter Assemble the component parts of your chosen DCC adapter as illustrated on previous page. Screw the DCC adapter onto the camera lens mount. [Fig. 3] The camera is now ready to attach to the viewing eyepiece. [Fig. 4] 4. Fitting the combined assembly to the telescope eyepiece [Fig. 5] Place assembly over the eyepiece and push down until the internal wall of the adapter comes into contact with the end of the eyepiece. [a] Hold the main section of the DCC adapter secure and turn the locking ring anti-clockwise until tight making sure the camera remains horizontal. [b] Turn the camera ON, making sure the flash is switched off before taking photographs. For additional guidance on how to operate the NV10, please read the instructions supplied with the camera. Tips for taking pictures The NV10 has no conventional viewfinder so images are composed using the LCD monitor. When the camera is turned on the LCD monitor will show a single rounded picture of the image you originally set your scope and eyepiece to. Once this single rounded picture is obtained you can adjust the zoom function to eliminate any vignetting and make any fine focus adjustments using the telescope. Set shooting mode to P Program as this gives you access to the majority of manual functions you may want to use including; Shooting mode (single, high speed and Mcapture), Metering, Remote ON/OFF, Flash ON/OFF, ISO settings and Exposure Compensation.
