1. INTERFACE

1.1. Connecting

1) Connecting

- As show in Fig. 1-1, first, connect the personal computer to RS232-In(9 pins) and then begin to add connections from a TV or a display unit, starting from RS232-Out(9 pins). - You can assign an ID number here from 0 to 99 to each TV or Monitor connected. - The same number cannot be assigned to more than one unit. - The ID numbers do not necessarily need to be assigned sequentially.

1.2. Connection Standards

1) Connection Standards

- Conducts bi-directional communication using RS232. - Users three signal wires, of TxD (No.2), RxD (No.3), and GND (No.5), among the RS232 standard wires. (See Fig.1) - The distance between devices limited to 4m. - Of the 9 pins of the RS232 port, Nos. 2,3 and 5 are used. - ID can be expressed as hexadecimal of given ID, but ID O should be presented only as 0xFF. - All communications are cindeucted in the form of hexadecimal numbers, and the
checksum is the sum of all values except for the header. If, as shown in the example below (11 + FF + 01 +01 =112), the sum is a three-digit interger, discard rhe first digit and keep the lower two. ex) Power On & ID=0 Header 0xAA Command 0x11 Header 0xAA ID

- If you wish to control all units connected with serial cable regardless of the IDs, set the ID to "0xFE" and send commands. Here, each set functions according to the commands received but does not respond with ACK.
