13-Bit System

More levels of shade equal a more natural picture. This is true for both digital resolution and Plasma TVs. Previous technology could only produce 1024 shades of grey. Samsung has not only broken, but far surpassed the most advanced technologies, by producing 8192 shades of grey for each individual colour, resulting in 549 billion colours. But such a dramatic increase wont produce any visible improvements without a capable display panel. Now, with 13-bit processing, colour expression is 500 times more advanced than conventional 10-bit processing, and even awe-inspiring phenomena like the Aurara Borealis can be perfectly recreated on your TV. Only a 13-bit system makes this richness possible. And only Samsung Plasmas offer this visionary technology.

With HD-readiness in all categories (106cm, 127cm, and 160cm), Samsungs Plasma TV delivers true HD grade picture with its (1024 x 768 on 106cm) WXGA high resolution, befitting the HD Digital Broadcasting System. Earlier 106cm models, all SD grade, had to adjust the broadcast signals of high quality images into their lower specifications, resulting in images of lesser quality. However, with smaller cells and enhanced brightness, achieved by increasing the number of cells in the same dimension, Samsungs PDP TV now presents more detailed images. *When connected to a HD set top box, can receive either 576p/1080i HD signal.

Samsung Plasma TV has made every effort to lower power consumption, and now with Smart Energy Saver, you will save power and money by up to 22%. New panel structure also enhances energy efficiency and reduces power consumption. Blue Eye sensor adjusts screen brightness after sensing ambient light, which contributes to energy efficiency. Blue Eye sensor automatically detects light levels around the TV and adjusts the screen to optimal brightness. The Smart Energy Saver function produces the perfect brightness level for watching TV and reduces energy consumption. Smart Energy Saver provides three saving modes: Auto Saving, Standard, and Super Saving Mode.
