Facsimile SF-3200 Series

Unpack your facsimile

Once you have unpacked your machine, check to make sure you have all the parts shown here. If any piece is missing or broken, contact your dealer.

Install backup battery

1. Turn your machine right-hand side down and remove the battery cover at the bottom of the machine.

(SF-3200T only)

2. Connect the new battery to the clips, then insert and place the battery in the battery compartment.
Replace the battery cover.

Connect the handset

Plug the handset cord into the HANDSET jack at the bottom left of the machine.

Insert the document tray

1. Insert the two tabs on the Document Tray into the slots on the top of your machine. 2. Fold out the Extender on the Document Tray, if necessary.

Insert the document exit tray
Insert both ends of the Document Exit Tray into the slots on the front of your machine.

Connect the phone line

Plug the line cord into the TEL.LINE jack at the bottom left of the machine.

Connect AC power cord
Connect an optional extension phone

(SF-3200 only)

Plug the cord of your extension phone into the TAM Lead and plug the TAM Lead into the EXT.LINE jack at the bottom left of the machine.

TAM Lead (UK only)

The machine turns on and the LCD displays SYSTEM INITIAL. If there is no cartridge installed, or no paper, the display shows NO CARTRIDGE or CHECK PAPER. To turn the machine off, unplug the power cord.

Load paper

1. Pull the Paper Support all the way up. Before loading papers, push down the blue Paper Lever. Paper Support 2. Fan the paper and insert them into the feeder with the print side facing down. You can load approximately 100 sheets of paper. 3. Squeeze the Paper Guide, and move it to the right to match the width of the paper.

When completed, replace the Paper Lever to its original position. Failure to do so will result in paper jams while copying or receiving a fax.
Install the print cartridge
1. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging. Hold the print cartridge by the black areas or colored top only. Do not touch the copper area. 2. Carefully remove the tape covering the printhead. Be sure to remove it completely. 3. Press the Cartridge button. 4. Open the Control Panel (x) and the Cartridge Compartment Cover (y) with your hand.

5. Insert the print cartridge in the carrier.
6. Push the cartridge firmly in the direction of the arrow until it clicks into place.
7. Close the cover and replace the Control Panel after installing the print cartridge.
8. The display shows NEW. If you are installing a used one, choose 'USED' by pressing or and press.

Make a single test copy

1. Turn the page face down and insert it into the document feeder. 2. Adjust the document guide to match the width of the document. 3. Feed the document into the machine. The automatic document feeder pulls in the page. 4. Press Copy, then the display shows NUMBER OF COPIES. Press the Start/Enter to make a single test copy.
