Samsung Takes Glamorous YV-150 Voice Pen to Another Level!
The DAP is going to be marketed this summer
It's not a secret anymore! Samsung has come up with some pretty nice looking MP3 players in the past; some of the nice features applied to the YV-150 voice recorder, too. The recorder features a hands-free microphone and a phone adapter, which proves once again the quality of this device. After the stylish K5 and K3 mp3 versions that created a stir on the market, the new Samsung YV-150 respects the same well crafted piano black design. This pen-like designed DAP is capable of playing MP3, WMA and WMA-DRM music files, and it sports the good old FM tuner as well, while the spoken voice can be recorded in three ways: SP at 32kbps, HQ at 64kbps, and SHQ at 128kbps. The voice activated recording stops the process the moment the subject stops talking. After the recording, five folders allow the user to save the recording, and the integrated file browser allows an easy management of the recordings. The YV-150 voice pen comes with an included text-to-speech program, capable of converting text files into MP3 voice files, so you can comfortably listen to a file on the PC after the transfer.Following the latest trend in the industry of incorporating speakers into the systems, the manufacturers added a small speaker in the recorder, located behind the device. But the most impressive detail is the battery life rated at 66 hours of continuous recording, courtesy of just a couple of AAA sized batteries. The playing time is claimed to be of up to 20 hours. When using the device, you should know that the recording quality also affects the battery life, probably because the signal processor has more work to do. But this will surely kick some asses in the industry, since it comes flavored with 1GB and 2GB storage capacities, not to mention the addition of an SD card, which will definitely extend the joy. The good news is that the player can work with six different languages, including English. All in all, this new DAP/voice recorder proves once again that the fellows from Samsung are into more serious stuff than just some gorgeous design.
