In order to prevent electric shock and short circuit hazards, be sure to turn power off before performing work. Be careful so as not to damage wirings. Damaged wiring can cause fire, electric shock and short circuit hazards. Do not expose the Game BD, etc. without a good reason. Failure to observe this can cause electric shock hazard or malfunctioning.
The electronic parts on the IC Board could be damaged due to human body's static electricity. Before performing IC Board related work, be sure to discharge physically accumulated statics by touching grounded metallic surfaces, etc. Removing the screws that secure the game board may cause it to fall and become damaged. Be sure to support the board carefully when removing the securing screws.
Put the Game Board in the Carton Box (an accessory) together with the Shield Case when requesting for the replacement or repair. Transporting the Game Board in an undesignated status for replacement/repair is unacceptable.

Sonic the Hedgehog: 20th Anniversary Retrospec tive
Twenty years ago, an icon that changed the face of gaming forever was born: Sonic the Hedgehog. Over the years, he has been known as a mascot for Sega and has starred in a series that is not like your average video game. He has been going through hill, ramps, and loops at highspeeds, collecting gold rings and foiling Dr. Robotnik's master plans to take over the world. Not only has he been in games, but also a few TV shows and a comic book series! When youre playing the games, it feels like you are in the game getting an adrenaline rush from the speed! -Jacqueline Nares (10). We will take a look at how he has come and gone over the last 20 years!
The Genesis Era (1991-1996) In 1991, Sonic the Hedgehog was released on the Sega Genesis and was really well received by critics. It was praised for the different platforming elements, such as the sense of speed, and was considered one of the greatest games of all time. The success spawned a sequel titled Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on the Genesis, in 1992. Like its predecessor, it received positive reviews from critics, praising the larger levels, diverse cast of characters, colorful graphics, and the addition of two-player game play, and being one of the bestselling Sega Genesis games of all time. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was the first Sonic game I have played and liked! -Luke Jung (10). In 1994, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic and Knuckles were released on the Genesis

Quran Burning
By Michael Najera Staff Writer
Tension brews in the Middle East as Terry Jones, Pastor of the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida, burns a holy Muslim bible, the Qur'an, on March 20th, 2011 in the name of free speech.
Currently 11 countries are condemning Pastor Terry Jones. In Kandahar, Afghanistan, 22 people were reported killed during the outcry and protesting of seeing a man in Florida burning their bible. It also lead an attack on a United Nations compound in which insurgents fired assault rifle and explosives that ended
with seven UN employees dead on the scene. President Obama says the act of disgrace towards a selected religion "is an act of extreme intolerance." The White House summary reads: "The two [U.S. and Afghan] presidents were clear that to attack and kill innocent people is an affront to human decency and dignity." General David Petraeus, leader of 150,000 U.S. and allied troops in Afghanistan, is outraged at this incident that has, reportedly, increased the number of attacks against the U.S. army. He stated the burning was, "hateful, extremely disrespectful and enormously intolerant." Jones reported he has received around 400 death threats since the burning. Hezbollah, a militant Muslim "Party of God," has advertised a 2.4 million dollar bounty on Jones. These threats are not holding him back from future burnings and he, in fact, will denounce the Qur'an outside a mosque in Dearborn, Michigan.
Soul Surfer Review: Beth- has reached the ears of many Cirque du Solei, Quidam around the world. Bethanys By Shelby Berrios any Hamiltons Story
By Jessica Alfaro Staff Writer
This movie is based on an inspiring true story about a skilled surfer named Bethany Hamilton. Bethany had lost her arm by a 14foot tiger shark while surfing in Hawaii. If the bite was just two inches in it would have been fatal. Less then a month after the incident, Bethany was back on her board surfing again. AnnaSophia Robb played, Bethany Hamilton in her new movie Soul Surfer. This movie shows and inspires people to do things they think they cant or never could. Bethany did what everyone said she couldnt. She got back on her board within three weeks of her accident. Bethany doesnt just surf she competes and wins. Bethanys abiding faith in God is what keeps her going. Bethanys inspiring story
family and close friends had even made a website to tell her story in their point of view. I remember walking into the room after I was told Bethany was awake, her first words to me were ask the doctor when I can surf again, says Timothy, Bethanys older brother. Her story is inspiring and its amazing what she can do even with her disability, says Ashley Moss, 11. I have a disability and have grown up with restrictions and its amazing to hear and watch this girl, not born with a disability, still do what she wanted when she had both arms, says Jessica Lucas, 11. I gave my fear, of not being able to surf with one arm to the Lord. just knowing that he loves us and will help us overcome whatever he gives us to deal with brings me strength, says Bethany. Bethany has a great faith in God and keeps looking to Him for power and

In San Joses HP pavilion, Cirque Du Solei, a French Canadian circus, was visiting from March 24th to the 27th.
This particular show is about a young girl named Zoe who is bored and tired of her parents ignoring her and being so distant she feels like her life has no meaning. So, she slides into an imaginary place called the World of Qudiam where the characters there help her free her soul. With hardly any spoken word, the story of Zoe finding her way back home plays out. The company Cirque Du Solei is based in Quebec Canada it started in 1984 with only a group of 20 Street performers,
and opened in Montreal in 1996. They have performed on 5 continents with an international cast of 52 acrobats, musicians, singers and characters. The company has 5,000 employees, including more than 1,200 artists from close to 50 different countries. There are ten major acts in the play, all with amazing stunts. The first act is Aerial Contortion in Silk, the second is Banquine. The third act is called Cloud swing, followed by Diabolos. The midpoint of the play is the German Wheel, the next is Hand Balancing, the seventh act of the play is Skipping Ropes. The next
act is Statue- La Vision. The ninth act of the play is Spanish Webs. The closing act of the play is Aerial Hoops. Two acts of the play the actors bring up members from the audience. Cirque Du Solei will have 23 different plays around the world in 2011.

As Babydoll retreats into her imagination where reality blurs with fantasy, she becomes a dancer at a brothel along with four other patients that have been wrongly imprisoned. Babydoll teams up with Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish), Rocket (Jenna Malone), Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), and Amber (Jamie Chung) in order to escape their captors. To escape the girls need to collect five items, and each time Babydoll dances, they are given the chance to get the next item as they are thrown into yet another reality. The plot has many clear holes that are difficult to ignore: the audience never actually gets to see Babydoll s hypnotic dance, and the majority of the characters were removed in a rather rushed, uncreative way. Most criticism that the film has faced is along the lines of the power of women in an abusive environment, and it is easy to see how women with machine guns and short skirts twirling around can be seen as more obSuckerpunch cont. on Page 4

Snyder Misses the Point with New Film, Sucker Punch

All of the elements were there: originality, metaphors, a talented cast, a great soundtrack and the crucial statements of self-sacrifice, the ability to create our own stories, abusive authority, reality versus our dreams, and the power of feminism. Somehow, even with so much material, director Zack Snyder failed to deliver any of these concepts very strongly in his new film Sucker Punch. When Babydoll (Emily Browning) gets sent to a mental asylum by her wicked stepfather after her mother s death, she has five days to escape the impending lobotomy that has

There was Sonic Spinball(1993), a Sonic themed pinball game, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine,(1993) a mockup of Tetris, and Sonic 3D Blast(1996), a top-down 3D Sonic game, which unfortunately lacked the sense of speed of the original games. gameplay and high-speed levels, and a vast variety of playable characters. The game received praise for those features and was considered the best game for the Dreamcast. An expanded Nintendo Gamecube version, titled Sonic Adventure DX, was released in 2003, featuring never-before-seen content. In 2001, at the peak of the Dreamcasts retirement, Sonic Adventure 2 was released, marking the 10th anniversary of the first Sonic game. It featured the same gameplay mechanics as the first Adventure, and featured Sonic facing off a rival hedgehog, Shadow, for the first time. The game received positive reviews, but was criticized for its camera angles and less challenging boss fights. Like the first game, it was also rereleased a year later on the Gamecube

The game received mix reviews, being praised for its team-based gameplay, but received criticism for its dated graphics and camera angles. It was also the first Sonic game to receive an E10+ rating from the ESRB.

Liberty High School strongest asset for this team was how strong they were in the paint, and that stat really showed up against Butler when they outscored them 26-2 in the paint, thanks to Huskie forward Alex Oriakhi. This Huskie team was youthful group with much energy, to the point that coach Jim Calhoun went on to say he feels re-energized when around this team. More than anything this squad showed that they never believed in what the critics posted and having a little fun leads to great success, congratulations to the 2010-11 Connecticut Mens Basketball team on their championship.

By Blake Paris Staff Writer
The 2011 NCAA Mens college basketball tournament really lived up to the nickname of March Madness and when it was all said and done, the Connecticut Huskies ended up as champions by beating Butler 53-41 in this years national championship. Lead by superstar guard Kemba Walker, the Huskies went through another grueling year of playing in the Big East conference and used that grind period to persevere through this years tournament. The Huskies went 9-9 in conference and ended up as 9 seed in the Big East conference tournament (but went 23-0 in games outside of conference) but that didnt stop them from winning 5 games in 5 days to win the Big East tournament and earn a automatic bid into the national tournament. The Huskies went 14-0 in tournament games this year by winning the Maui Invitational, Big East tournament and now the national championship. The Huskies reviewed for its controls, gameplay, camera angles, bad storyline, long load times, and the blandness of certain characters. It was considered one of the worst games of the last decade. In 2007, Sonic and the Secret Rings was released for the Nintendo Wii. It received mixed to negative reviews overall, with praise for the improvement over the last few games and its storybook style, but the Mario Party-style mini games were bland and seemed like a last minute option. That same year, Sonic faced off with Mario in Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, released on the Nintendo Wii and DS, with positive reaction on the Wii version for its fun gameplay, but lacked quality on the Nintendo DS. In 2008, Sonic Unleashed was released on the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii with negative reviews on the 360 and PS3 ver-

The same year, Sonic made his debut in Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the Wii as a playable character. Sonic and the Black Knight was released on the Wii in 2009, continuing the storybook style of Secret Rings, receiving highly negative reviews for its graphics, control scheme, and mediocre storyline. Despite mostly negative reaction from a majority of the games during that time of decade, fans were relieved when Sonic Rush hit the DS in 2005 with a sequel released two years later. It was highly praised for it use of the dual screens and the 2D style of the game. Fan will be relieved again for the next few titles later on.
High Speed Future (2010-Present) In 2010, a sequel to Sonic 1-3 was released under Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 with great anticipation from the fans and their dreams for a real sequel came true. The game brought back the exact style of the Sega Genesis games, despite the Game Boy Advance and DS taking the same path. It featured the same style of the levels, music, enemies, and boss fights of the original games. The biggest difference was the 3D art style and homing attack from the 3D Sonic games. Sonic Colors was released the same year on the Wii with great reviews for its vastly improved camera and control scheme and its colorful graphics for a Wii game. A teaser video was released for a new game featuring the current generation Sonic racing with a clone of him in his original Genesis design without the pixels. The game doesnt have a title at the moment, but will be released this fall for the Xbox 360 and PS3. I hope they in-
clude a more complex storyline in future games! -Jacqueline Nares-10. We hope for the best for the future of the series. Spin-offs and More (1993-Present) There were many spin-offs for Sonic the Hedgehog. There were a few TV shows and a comic series by Archie. The animated TV shows were the comedic Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (1993), the serious toned Sonic Sat AM (1993), the rockoriented Sonic Underground (1993-1996), and the anime Sonic X (2003-present). The comic series turned out to be a success and new issues are still made. The T.V. shows received mixed to negative reaction, with the worst being Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic has been going high speed for 20 years now. With over 40+ games in the series and still counting, 4 TV shows, and a comic series, Sonic the Hedgehog has done it all! The future is bound to be best for the blue hedgehog!
