The AR-C170M accommodates a wide range of paper sizes, from A6R (5 1/2" x 8") to A3 wide (12" x 18"). You can do A3 or 11" x 17" full-bleed printing onto A3-wide (12" x 18") paper, without loss of image area. And thanks to its tandem printing method, it can handle heavy paper stock up to 300 g/m2, overhead transparencies and other types of paper*, further expanding the range of printing applications. Save time and money by creating packages, POP displays and other promotional materials in-house.
*When using manual bypass feeder, single-sided printing. Special paper, such as heavy paper weighing 201 to 300 g/m2, transparencies and envelopes, are output face-up on the left tray.
The AR-C170M includes colourful editing functions made possible by digital technology.
Multi-Page Enlargement divides an image onto separate sheets, allowing you to make poster-like copies up to A0 x 2 (44" x 68") in size. Image Repeat places multiples copies of an image onto a single sheet. Mirror Image makes a reverse image of the original ideal for printing on transfer paper to make T-shirt iron-ons and stickers. Duplex Copying/Printing

The AR-C170M can make two-sided copies and printouts when equipped with the optional duplex module and duplex bypass/inverter unit, effectively reducing paper costs as well as saving filing space. Auto duplexing is available for paper weights up to 200 g/m2. This allows you, for example, to create impressive company brochures and business proposals by using thick paper for the cover.

The AR-C170M saves each page of a document into internal memory and then automatically outputs collated sets of copies or printouts in the proper page order. Each set is offset stacked for easier separation. Up to 999 copies can be made directly from memory. This highly productive process is indispensable for highvolume jobs.
Note: When copying, only B/W documents can be electronically sorted.
The AR-C170M can copy up to four pages of originals onto a single sheet, AB effectively reducing your paper costs. CD The similar N-up printing function places up to eight document pages onto a single printout. And the AR-C170M also saves you time: Pamphlet Style copies (or prints out) onto both sides of the paper in proper page order for making booklets easily, and Transparency Interleaving automatically inserts blank or printed sheets between each OHP transparency, eliminating manual labour.

To keep others from seeing confidential documents as they are being printed out, the AR-C170Ms Print Hold function stores print data on its hard disk and withholds output until the user executes a print command from the operation panel. For added security, the Confidential Print function requires the user to enter in a personal identification number at the machine before printing can begin.
Digital copier/printers or multifunction products can retain hundreds of pages of confidential information from previous jobs on their hard disks or internal memory. To prevent these sensitive records from being recovered by unauthorised persons, the ARC170M can be equipped with the optional AR-FR19 U Data Security Kit, which completely erases the data generated for each job.

Environmentally Conscious Design
The AR-C170M conforms to the Energy Star Program, an international system identifying energy-efficient products that conserve natural resources and reduce environmental pollution. The AR-C170M has two levels of energy-saving modes to reduce or shut off electricity used in the fusing unit after a period of inactivity. These modes save running costs while the machine is not in use. Chromium- and lead-free thanks to the use of chrome-free surface-treated steel sheet, and lead-free wiring harnesses and AC power cords.
