| This model has a good keyboard layout, but it flexes badly! The left palmrest gets rather too warm. The PC as a whole stays cool and quiet, however. I have spent considerable efforts in comparing the D600 vs. the IBM T41 and have performed several informal surveys. I have a complete J2EE Environment (IDE(WSAD 4.1.1, IntelliJ 3.0.5), web server (Apache), app server (IBM WebSphere 4.1). | |

| Many features in one laptop, great student computer. No floppy disc drive. This dell laptop in my opinion is not very good. It has 256 random access memory and this is very poor. Also the processor which is 1. reasonably good laptop. charging battery doesnt work after a while due to motherboard problem. this is common. otherwise an excellent machine. | |

| Great battery for an older laptop. Brought my battery life back up to like new. My original battery was lasting less than an hour playing a graphics-intensive casual game I often use to pass the time at airports, on the go, etc. I bought my 600m laptop back in 2005. The original battery worked great and lasted up until the end of 2009. | |

Some of the odor ingredients adsorbed by the filters become separated and are discharged through the exhaust port as odor. Depending on the usage environment, this odor may become strong in several months and the exhaust port may smell. In this case, purchase the exchange filter FZ-21SEF of the option goods, and replace the filters.

ABOUT THE FILTER
Effectiveness cannot be achieved1 if HEPA filter is attached on the wrong side. Moreover, make sure not to reverse and attach used filter because dust accumulated on the filter will be blown out during operation. Do not wash and reuse Apatite HEPA filter and deodorization filter. It doesnt have effect, and they become an electric shock and the cause of the trouble. Small dust and odors such as tobacco smoke rise and accumulate at the top of the room. Large dust such as pollen and house dust accumulate at the bottom of the room. The wall, etc., behind the exhaust port may become dirty as time passes. When using the unit for extensive period in the same location, use a vinyl sheet, etc., to prevent the wall from becoming dirty. In addition, periodical clean the wall, etc.

REPLACING THE FILTERS
Guide for replacing the filters
HEPA filter Deodorization filter About 2 years after opening About 2 years after opening
The replacement period is defined as when smoking 10 cigarettes per day and the dust collection/deodorization power is reduced by half than that of new filters. The replacement period differs depending on the usage hours and location of installation. Depending on the usage environment, odor may be noticed from the exhaust port in several months. (For understanding the product. Refer to E-1)
See page 6 Installing the filters for the replacement method. Fill in the usage start date of the filters on the date label included with the replacement filters. Affix the label on top of the replacement label that is already on the back of the front panel.

Be sure to take out HEPA/deodorizing filter from the bag before use. Install the filter in the unit with the arrow sign pointing upward.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
Before calling for repair, check the symptoms below for possible remedies, since the problem may not be a malfunction of the unit.
SYMPTOM
The remote control does not work Odors and smoke cannot be removed easily The Clean sign lights green even when the air is dirty
REMEDY (not a malfunction)
Has the batteries depleted? Are the batteries inserted with correct polarity? Is a fluorescent lighting in the room flickering due to service life? Are the filters heavily dirty? Is the opening of the dirt sensor blocked or clogged? Was the air already dirty when the power plug was inserted into the wall outlet? (Refer to E-4) Dirt sensor cannot detect pollen and dust without smell.(Refer to E-4) The sensitivity of the sensor becomes unstable when the opening of the dirt sensor is dirty or is clogged. Clean the dust around the sensor opening using a vacuum cleaner. Dirt sensor detects insecticide, cosmetics, spray or alcohol as well. It is not a malfunction. During the Clean mode (or Refresh mode), the cluster ion lamp color will not change. This is the sound that is emitted when the unit is in the Refresh mode. If the sound is irritating, switch the unit to the Clean mode. This is the sound that is emitted when the unit is generating cluster ions. If the sound is irritating, such as when sleeping, etc., set the Cluster ion mode to OFF. The ozone generated by the cluster ion generator may have an odor. However, the density of ozone generated is very little and is harmless to the human body. Furthermore, the ozone decomposes quickly so it does not accumulate in the room.
