In August of 2007, Dr. Andrew Dykens became one of the newest additions to the DFM as a Clinical Instructor of Family Medicine and physician at UIC's Mile Square Heath Center. Originating from southwest Missouri, Dr. Dykens came to Chicago after receiving his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia to accept an appointment as a resident physician in the UIC Department of Family Medicine Residency Program. As a third year resident, Dr. Dykens matriculated in the School of Public Health, in pursuit of a masters degree with a concentration in Health Policy and Administration. He will be completing his degree by presenting his capstone experience this November where he will propose a formalized collaboration between the United States Peace Corps and US Primary Care Residency Programs in a discussion entitled "Peace Care."
