1080p Resolution The formula for HDTV is quite simple: the higher the picture information, the higher the picture quality. Thats why our AQUOS Full HD LCDs are designed to fully display all available signals. With its 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, the resolution is double that of conventional WXGA panels. The new generation of AQUOS 1080P LCDs have the further advantage that their image is created progressively. The lines are not transferred as half-frames as before, but row after row as frames. (HD1, XL1, XD1 ranges).
Standard panel delivers only about 50% of the image information. Full HD panel delivers high-resolution pictures with twice the precision
100Hz The HD panel uses a newly developed 100Hz double frame drive that recreates images with twice the number of frames as conventional systems. The system detects the points of motion change and expresses one picture with twice the frames. This enables clear reproduction of motion as well as smooth and natural scenes, whether the movement is left to right or top to bottom. Sports programmes and content with quick camera action or captions can be viewed with clarity (HD1, XL1, RD2 ranges).

Multi-wavelength Backlight Some of AQUOS Full HD LCDs are equipped with the 5-wavelength backlight system. In this system, the primary colours, red, green and blue, are enhanced by two further red and green shades. The division of the red wavelengths makes the pictures much more natural and allows the realistic display of even the deepest purple shades (HD1 range).
DYNAMIC Contrast A high contrast ratio is necessary to reproduce vivid images with enhanced lighting and shadowing. AQUOS provides a high contrast ratio delivering more realistic and blacker blacks even in dark night scenes of movies. The contrast ratio also delivers blacker blacks and whiter whites even in brightly lit rooms, providing crisp, clear reproduction of LCD TV images.

Many Sharp products now have national and international environmental labels. Our SH1 LCD TV series was the worlds first generation of TVs to be awarded the EUs Eco-label. TV appliances that have been awarded the Eco-label have met the following criteria: - reduced energy consumption during use and standby, - few harmful substances, - designs for improved durability, easy disassembly and recycling, - user information for environmentally friendly use Besides technological highlights such as Advanced Super View and Black TFT LCD, the new LCD TVs are outstanding for their environmentally sound attributes and conformity with EU Eco-labelling. Yet again, Sharp has proven its ability to create innovative products while promoting environmental protection at the same time! What is the European Eco-label? The conservation of nature is in the common interest of many companies and consumers.
