DataLearning

Unlike conventional data logging technologies that simply collect data, CENTRAs unique DataLearning technology learns the wearers volume preferences for each program and automatically adjusts the instruments to the wearers preferred loudness in each hearing environment. As a result, DataLearning minimizes the long-term need for wearer adjustments and provides better comfort and performance. In fact, it virtually eliminates the need for volume control changes after one week. Studies show that this learning volume control feature is preferred by wearers. It optimizes loudness and sound quality in each program when compared to instruments with conventional volume control.

e2e wireless

CENTRAs e2e wireless technology synchronizes the signal processing of both hearing instruments in binaural fittings so that they function as one holistic system. It continuously senses the listening environment and automatically aligns selected core digital signal processing. e2e wireless also ensures that volume level and listening programs are always in sync.

SoundSmoothing

The fastest response to transient noise.
Unexpected impulsive sounds like breaking glass, rustling paper, and clanging dishes can be disturbing for hearing instrument wearers. To tackle this problem, Siemens developed the worlds first transient noise suppression technology: SoundSmoothing. The industrys most effective transient noise suppression system, SoundSmoothing automatically detects and responds to transient noises almost 400 times faster than competitive systems. SoundSmoothing isolates and softens unexpected noises without affecting the quality of speech. So the hearing experience is comfortable and free of wearer fatigue. Research indicates that most hearing instrument wearers prefer SoundSmoothing-equipped hearing instruments like CENTRA in situations with transient noise.*

Working in concert with CENTRAs directional microphones, e2e wireless offers improved localization capability and perceived quality. In conference room settings, for example, e2e wireless improves the ability of the wearer to locate the speaker by 25%.

Feedback Cancellation

Conventional feedback cancellation systems often identify signals like music or microwave beeps as feedback and create sounds that are confusing or bothersome to the wearer. Until now, the only way to avoid this problem was by turning off the feedback cancellation system or reducing the reaction time of the feedback system. But CENTRA is different. It offers the most advanced feedback cancellation system available, featuring a new algorithm with adaptive speed control that automatically selects the optimal adaptation speed to eliminate or reduce feedback. The CENTRA feedback cancellation system constantly searches for feedback patterns in sound frequencies and automatically eliminates them. So even in the most feedback prone situations, the wearer isnt bothered by embarrassing and annoying whistling.
