The Siemens Gigaset S450/455 SIM and Gigaset E450/455 SIM make it easy to share phone numbers between mobile phones and the fixed network
Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices is presenting cordless phones with a SIM card reader and writer at CeBIT. The Gigaset S450/455 SIM and the robust Gigaset E450/455 SIM allow users to quickly and easily exchange phonebook information with a users mobile phone SIM card. The stylish design of the Gigaset S450/455 SIM ensures it blends into the modern home. The dust- and splash-proof Gigaset E450/455 SIM can also withstand rougher handling and is excellently suited for use in craft shops, garden centers or construction sites. These feature-rich phones include a large color display with a graphical menu as well as a high-quality hands-free function and illuminated keypad. The Gigaset S455 SIM and Gigaset E455 SIM also have built-in answering machines.
Troublesome synchronization of numbers between mobile phones and fixed-network handsets is now finally a thing of the past. Just a touch of a button on the Gigaset S450/455 SIM and Gigaset E450/455 SIM, and the contents of the mobile phones phonebook are always at hand in the fixed network and vice versa. The new cordless phones from Siemens are equipped with a read and write module for SIM cards. All numbers stored on the mobile phones SIM card are transferred in a flash and in alphabetical order to the cordless phone. The Gigaset S450/455 SIM and Gigaset E450/455 SIM thus offer a convenient means of synchronizing phone book entries with the contact data on the mobile phone. The memory of the new Gigaset models has space for up to 150 names and numbers.

The installation of the design-oriented Gigaset S450/S455 SIM and the robust Gigaset E450/455 SIM is effortless. The six-line illuminated color displays (4096 colors, 128 x 128 pixels) and clear graphical menu system ensures intuitive and convenient operation.
Even short text messages (up to 640 characters) can be sent to friends and acquaintances from either the elegant Gigaset S450/455 SIM in its slim-line design or the especially robust Gigaset E450/455 SIM with rubber padding on its sides. The new E class models are specially protected against dust particles and splashwater and comply with the DIN IP 54 standard. This means the devices are able to withstand with rougher handling in day-to-day use regardless of whether they are exposed to dust and shavings in a joiners workshop or sprinkled with water in a garden.
The high-quality hands-free function on the new S and E class models is an especially practical feature for young families as it can be used as a baby monitor.
The Gigaset S450/455 SIM and Gigaset E450/455 SIM will ensure users never miss call when they are not at home. The new models can be set up to send a message to the user and inform them of any calls received. The Gigaset S455 SIM and Gigaset E455 SIM have an integrated answering machine that can record up to 35 minutes of voice messages.
Practical original accessories, such as a belt clip and a jack connector for a headset are also available and all the models can be expanded for use with up to 6 handsets in a cordless phone system.
The Gigaset S450/455 SIM in the color titanium will be available from June 2006. The Gigaset E450/455 SIM in the colors night blue and glacier blue will be put on sale at the same time.
