Good flash I have used a Nikon SB-600 and I think that the sigma is a much better flash.

Extremely easy to use, just insert into the hotshoe and you are ready to go!~ Automatic detection of the aperture and zoom range. An average flash gun, in todays market. despite being sold the flash suitable to work with Canon TTL, have found suitability to be non existence.

Very Good TTL auto Flash. I really like the TTL feature on this flash. The head pivots 360 degrees and is able to bounce off walls or a ceiling. For Experienced Photographers Only This was a gift for my son and he loves it, but be aware that it is pretty high tech and complicated.

Very, very cheap at the time... Great build quality. Not easy to use, terrrible instructions. Easy to use and versatile

Good flash, but limited to TTL mode and battery cover problems This is a good flash at a good price. Comparing to the Nikon range... Much cheaper, and the quality is awesome! A good buy!

1 When my Canon 30D is in P or Auto mode, I always get Exposure OK even when the exposure is obviously bad. My Canon G3 works correctly in all modes. 2 Second-curtain sync is controlled only on the ash. The cameras setting has no eect. 3 On at least the Canon 30D, choosing high-speed sync in Av mode sometimes sets the shutter speed to 1/8000 even in relatively low light. HSS works correctly in the other modes. 4 In Av and M modes, the cameras shutter speed will not go above 1/250 until high-speed sync has been chosen. High-speed sync is lost the shutter button is pressed or half-pressed while a shutter speed of 1/250 or below is selected. This behavior is especially dangerous in Av mode. 5 Some light from the controller may appear in the nal image. 6 When the controlling ash is disabled, choosing ratios may cause the controlled ashes to misre. This seems to be an intermittent behavior. 7 After Fb, the digits 1-3 will appear to indicate which shot in the sequence is to be taken next. 8 Flash bracketing auto-cancels after the third shot. 9 Also available in the camera. Flash FEC overrides in-camera FEC if both are enabled.

On controller: Use MODE to choose ETTL. Select FP, , zoom, FEC, Fb, and channel 1-4 as needed. For ratios, SELect until r 1:1 appears. Then use + to choose 12 (2 groups) or 123. (The controller is always group #1; the controlled ashes can be set to any group.15 ) Choose multiple or manual mode if desired.

In Av mode, 1/250 is selected. In P mode, 1/250 and the smallest f-stop are selected. 15 It is not possible to use group-3 ashes and ash ratios unless there is at least one group-2 unit.

16 I have been unable to determine whether the FEC stops are relative to the controller or to controllee #2. I assume they are relative to the controller. 17 The 1:2 ratio can be set to a range of 8:1 to 1:8, in what seems to be 1/2-stop increments. The 1:3 ratio can be set to a range of 3 stops in 1/3-stop increments. 18 This mode can be used to achieve a manual ash at 1/256 power.

Electronic Flash EF-500 DG SUPER is designed to work with both AF 35mm SLR and Digital SLR cameras of popular manufacturers, for advanced flash photography. It has a maximum guide number of 165 in feet or 50 in meter at 105mm focal length (ISO 100). The projection angle of the flashlight is set automatically to match the lens' focal length ranging from 28mm wide-angle to 105mm medium-telephoto. It also incorporates a built-in diffuser that expands the angle of illumination down to that of 17mm lens. For bounce flash it can be tilted 90° upwards and 7° downward for close-ups. Also it can be swiveled 180° to the left and 90° to the right. It incorporates "modeling flash" mode to provide proper light distribution to check the shadow of the subject. The multi pulse flash features enable reduced power setting from 1/4 to 1/128 in 6 steps and the pulse frequency of the flash can be set from 1Hz to 199Hz. EF-500 DG SUPER incorporates wireless TTL flash photography, slave flash photography, and FP flash photography (synchronized with high shutter speeds). In addition, manual flash also can be set at 8 output power levels. The covering focal length of the flashlight can be seen on the LCD panel, and a flash ready signal can be seen in the viewfinder. The EF-500 DG SUPER also incorporates auto power off system.
