Description
This remote control has 10 device buttons (source buttons) and can therefore replace up to ten normal remote controls ("10 in 1 function"). These could be remote controls for practically any type of consumer electronic device. The description on source button (2) (TV, VCR, CBL, ASAT, DSAT, DVD, AUX1, CD, AMP, AUX2) are for convenience only. With the exception of the button you can use all the buttons with each device in "Flex-Mode". Further instructions about "Flex-Mode" can be found on page 21 in the Code Functions chapter.
Inserting the batteries
Reverse of the remote control:
2 LR03/AAA/1.5V batteries are required (included). To remove the battery compartment cover press the lock. Lift and remove the battery compartment cover. Insert both batteries into the compartment, paying close attention to the polarity +/-. Replace the cover. Settings after changing the batteries When the batteries are correctly inserted the display is switched on. It will show the active mode ("TV"), the day of the week and the time.
To set the time and date please read the Settings chapter on page 37. After battery insertion the mode, time, date, and the back light duration will revert back to the factory settings. After you have inserted the batteries you can begin to program your universal remote control with your devices. With the common infra red codes the remote control works with most but not all makes and models. This remote control offers functions that your device might not be able to use. Some special functions of your device may not be supported by the remote control. In this case it can learn the commands from your original remote control using the learning function and transfer them to itself. It may be that some of the functions of the device must be implemented differently on the universal remote than on the original remote. Please read these instructions completely before use to get to know all the options of your remote control. Also read the instructions of the devices that you wish to operate with the remote control

Using combi devices
Combi devices are for example a TV with video recorder, a TV with DVD player or a DVD recorder with a video
recorder. There are several ways of controlling combi devices. Combi devices with two device codes Certain combi devices (e.g. a TV with a video recorder) require two codes for each part of the device. Program the appropriate TV code onto the TV source button and the code for the video recorder onto another source button. Operate the combi device like two separate devices. Combi devices with one device code Other combi devices only require one code. First you must select the part of the device that you wish to use next. Example: The device is a combined DVD recorder / Video recorder. The device code is stored under the source button. To operate the DVD part of the combi device press and hold the source button for longer than a second. To switch to using the video recorder in the combi device, briefly press the setup button for the shift function, then the source button. If your combi device only requires one device code, but you wish to use it with two source buttons, one for each part of the device, then proceed as follows:
Program the device code onto two source buttons. Operate one part of the device with one of the two source buttons. Use the learn function to transfer the desired functions of the other part of the device onto the other source button.
System set up options / Punch Through
The "Punch Through" (VOL/MUTE) function enables you to use the volume and mute functions on another type of device other than the one currently being used. Image transmission devices that connect to a TV (e.g. DVD, VCR, SAT, CBL) often do not have their own volume control. If the universal remote control is currently operating such a device and the VOL (Volume) or (Mute) buttons are pressed then they will operate the volume control of the TV. Settings for the punch through function, time, date, backlighting and system reset:
(System Setup Menu Structure)
Programming Punch Through (VOL / MUTE) onto another type of device
You can set up the universal remote control so that the Punch Through function operates another device rather than the TV. The device must obviously have a volume control function. Hold down the setup (17) button for about 3
seconds until is shown. Press the setup button (17) once more to bring up. The display will show.
Press OK (12)
Press OK (12) again. The menu will appear. This menu allows you to program all VOL/MUTE commands of one type of device which you will select in the next step. Press OK (12) again. The question will appear on the display. Select the device that you wish the VOL/MUTE operation to be changed by using one of the source buttons (2). The message and the confirmation
will be shown shortly after each other. If a device was selected in error that does not have its
own volume control then an error message will appear. The remote control will then revert back to normal use.
Turning off Punch Through (VOL/MUTE) for a certain device
You can set the universal remote control up in such a way that a certain device will only use its own VOL/MUTE functions. The "Punch Through" function for this device will be disabled. The universal function cannot be turned off in mode. If you have chosen another mode for the VOL/MUTE function, as described in the previous chapter, you cannot turn the universal function off for this mode. Hold down the setup (17) button for about 3

Learn Function
You can manually save functions from your original remote control into this remote control. The commands are saved under the source button onto which was programmed the device of the original remote control. The remote control can 'learn' up to 150 commands.
(Learn Setup Menu Structure)
Using the learn function
Use new batteries in both remote controls. If you are starting the programming from the beginning, in particular after first use, all previously saved commands will be deleted. Only commands from the original remote control can be programmed onto the source buttons (2). If the original remote control is programmed onto a source button (2), all commands on this source button have to be deleted first.
If the memory is full, the message will appear. In this case delete some saved commands. The programming of each button can take about 3 seconds. Do not release the learn button before the message or appears. The following buttons cannot be allocated functions: setup (17), macro (15) and all source buttons (2). Some original remote controls (for DVD, Video Recorder, Satellite) can themselves be programmed with device codes of some makes of TV so basic functions can be performed on the TV (volume, mute, search through channels). Please do not attempt to transfer the functions of an original remote control to your universal remote control if the original has been programmed with the code of another TV. This could lead to errors during the programming. First carry out a test where you program and test two or three commands. Before you program in your commands, please delete all previous commands on this source button.
Do not carry out the learn function directly underneath energy saving lamps. Such lamps (e.g. fluorescent lamps) can contain infra red light components which could affect the learn function.
Programming commands
To program follow the instructions below: Place both remote controls with the infra red diodes facing each other 15 to 50mm apart on the table. The infra red diodes must be positioned so they are exactly facing each other. Original remote control

If you wish to exit the learning function, press EXIT (16). The remote control will then revert back to normal use. or
Building in delays
It can be useful to build in a time delay before a command step is carried out e.g. to allow for the TV to warm up. The standard delay between the infra red signals is half a second. More delays can be programmed in one after the other to achieve a waiting time of greater than nine seconds. Choosing a device also requires one storage space. Channels with double digits also require two storage spaces. When entering the steps (as described above) where the time delay should be built in, press the PAUSE button (9). The question appears.
Press the number button (3) that corresponds with the number of seconds time delay that you want to build in (e.g. "3" for 3 seconds time delay). The maximum time delay is 9 seconds.
Carrying out macros
To carry out a macro briefly press the macro button once in normal mode. The notification (15) will appear. Within 20 seconds press the number button (3) under which the macro is stored ( , , or ).

You can turn all pre-programmed devices off at once. Proceed as follows: Briefly press the POWER/ALL OFF button (19) twice and on the second time hold the button down for about 3 seconds. When you release the button will appear and the devices will switch themselves off.
Certain devices can be both turned on and off with the POWER/ALL OFF button (19). Such devices, when they are turned off, will be turned on by the ALL OFF function.
After use
Cleaning the remote control
Warning! Do not get the remote control wet. Never clean with a wet cloth. Do not use any cleaning materials that contain solvents e.g. petrol or thinner. These materials can damage the outside of the casing. Only clean the remote control with a dry or damp cloth. The cloth must be lint free.
Not using the remote control for an extended period of time
If the remote control is not going to be used for an extended period of time, carry out the following: Remove the batteries from the remote control. Store the batteries in a safe place. Store the remote control in a dry and dust free place. Ensure that the remote control is not exposed to the effects of heat e.g. keep it away from direct sunlight.
Hints and Tips / Troubleshooting
Symptoms The display remains dark Possible Cause and Remedy Check that the batteries are inserted correctly in the remote control and that the polarity + / is correct. If the batteries do not have enough power, exchange them for new ones. The remote control does not work. There are several device codes listed under the manufacturer of my device. How do I determine the correct code? The devices will only react to certain commands from the remote control. Check that the devices are correctly turned on and powered up. To determine the correct code, try out the codes one after the other until the majority of the functions of the device work normally. You can programme the missing functions using the learn function.
Test more codes until the device will respond to the codes accordingly. In certain individual circumstances, if none of the given codes is successful, it could be the case that the device is not compatible with your universal remote control.
Symptoms Functions from the original remote control cannot be learnt.
Possible Cause and Remedy The distance between the remote controls is either too big or too small, change the distance between them. The buttons on the original remote control are not working. Check the functions of the original remote control. The code of the original remote control does not work with the universal remote control for technical / licence technical reasons.
If the problem still does not resolve itself, contact your supplier or the manufacturer.
Glossary
ALL OFF "All off" turns off all the devices programmed to the source buttons at once. Code The encoding is done by using different methods varying the burst and pause duration. To improve the interference resistance the radiation is modulated with a frequency of 20 - 70 kHz. The modulation of the signal reduces the power consumption of the transmitter and enables the transfer regardless of ambient light. Infra red diode Sends an invisible beam of infra red light at the wavelength of 880 - 950 nm LCD (liquid crystal display) Liquid crystal displays - the liquid crystals are influenced by the polarisation direction of light, when a particular amount of electrical voltage is applied.
Macro Macros allow you to save a string of commands, carrying out more than one function one after the other. Punch Through Punch through enables you to use the volume control and mute function on a different device from the one that you are using.

Description of the device
With this receiver, you are able to receive unencrypted and encrypted digital satellite channels via a satellite antenna. In addition, you have the option of using a second satellite supply line to record another channel through the second built-in tuner and to play it back at a later time. The device has a builtin hard disc and offers the additional option of playing back data through the USB interface. It is also possible to record on a USB medium. It is not necessary to programme the receiver beforehand. The most important broadcasting stations and satellites have already been pre-programmed. The satellite antenna has to be directed towards the desired satellite. The receiver will scan for further new channels as soon as you initiate the automatic scanning of broadcasting stations for this satellite. Satellites that are not preset may be added. All receiver settings can be done easily using the user interface (menu) on the TV monitor. The multilingual user interface supports following languages: German French Swedish Turkish Czech Spanish English Italian

You have the option of pausing the current broadcast by using the Pause button (32) and resume watching at a later time. A background recording on the hard disk is started. Changing between the current and the last watched channel (LAST key). Universal Satellite Automatic Location System. This allows automatic setting for all DiSEqC 1.2 Motors. The new calculation model allows the positioning of satellites in orbit with a precision of more than 0.1 degrees.

SCPC/MCPC Terms from the satellite transmission technology. SCPC means that a separate transmission frequency is required per program signal. Advantage: Several individual programmes from various geographical signal sources can be transmitted simultaneously on one satellite transmission channel (transponder + downlink), without having to create one package first. Disadvantage: The frequency-economy of this method is low. MCPC means: Several programmes are first nested together on one earth station (Multiplex) and then broadcast over a carrier frequency (Carrier). The disadvantage is that the programmes from various geographical sources (feeders) must be carried together on the earth station. The advantage is that the frequency economy of the Multiplex method is very high. SDTV Standard Digital Television is the norm and quality standard for Digital TV. As opposed to HDTV, the resolution of SDTV is rather comparable to PAL. They are 704 x 480 and 640 x 480 pixels and image formats of 3:4 and 16:9.
