Here is my 2p worth. Overview: Component video YUV available on TV scart No MHEG layer, thus No digital teletext services No interactive facility 7 ay EPG Exceptional connectivity on rear panel Power supply within the box (no 'wall wart') Limited functionality from remote. My Review: It may be worth noting the box has no MHEG layer ability. In relation to the previous model they have made installation as simple as any other box, getting rid of the 'transducers' terminology. Setting up by doing an auto scan for all channels was straightforward. However the box failed to find channels that were not on air when scanned, BBC Three and BBC Four only appeared after doing a rescan in the evening. (perhaps all boxes are like that never noticed before) The 'design team' have perpetuated the previous model's irritation of not presenting normal channel numbers but allocate a number in numerical sequence as they are found when doing the 'scan'. Example: Channel 5 does not come up as 5, or UK History as channel 12, but as some other random number up to the list total about 33. Channels may be rearranged, but only within the number range of the existing channels. Re: Lack of MHEG functionality: The box also listed ch 301 and 302 (not 303) these being interactive channels, and though they may be viewed directly, because it cannot present 'press red' messages, (no MHEG) and the red button on the remote has other uses, it is not possible for users to view interactive services interactivly from a base channel. Review of Lidl SilverCrest DVBT SL65 Somewhat limiting. Also missing are the digital teletext services requiring MHEG facility, e.g. teletext, BBCi etc, presumably because the box cannot display them. (Presumably if users are not aware of the services they won't miss them) The box offers conventional 'teletext' facility, but AFAIK conventional teletext isn't available on DTT in the uk. I found setting up 'favourites' poor spent a lot of time fiddling about but just seemed to be going round in circles and not achieving any worthwhile result. Having got some kind of favourites list set up there seemed no way to use (invoke) it to go from favourite to favourite. All that happened on incrementing the channel was to inrement to the next numerical channel as if there were no favourites set up. Either I just don't get it or some aspect is missing. An advantage of the box is ability to output component video YUV over the TV scart. (options: CVBS, RGB, YUV) (YUVscart connector not supplied). Useful for flat panel users. Or, if anyone knows of a DVD recorder that can accept YUV possibly better quality recordings. Svideo out is available on separate connector but the 'VCR scart' is only composite enabled. The rear panel also offers 5 channel Dolby Digital on optical and coaxial outputs but AFAIK none is broadcast in the UK. Roger
