Great Look, and very easy to install This wall mount is a installers dream to use. Sony SUWL500 Wall Mount Bracket At first I thought this product was too pricey, however, it was well worth the money.

Pleased with the purchase; especially the connectivity. I have connected my Sony Blu-Ray Google TV, Digital Camera, PC, Wii... If on sale at a good price, will be a great TV for smaller room or bedroom. For the price.

very please with Sony LCDs great picture and sound--more than adequate component and peripheral connections lengthy delay when you switch channels They should look at why you need to reset the power strip..or better yet add it to the common causes in the booklet.

A Sony product for an excellent price. Light weight and easy to set up. Highly recommended. Very nice entry level set for the price This TV is 60 HZ. I was looking for a new HD TV to replace my low-end HD TV, so after some trail and error, I came bought this TV.

Been a fan of the Sony brand and it was a brand that I have always trusted with other electrical equipment such as my camera so I decided to buy a Son... SONY at its best again! XBR from SONY is now synonymous for quality with edge and for performance without boundaries! absolutely so. Sony KDL-46S3000 is a high definition HDTV, anyone can setup this tv and make it work in just a few minutes.

Prompt waranty service Without a TV for about 10 days during waranty replacement ; Junk Junk Junk When our CRT TV finally gave out in March, 2008, I looked closely at the 32"-40" LCD units at Electronics Expo, and selected this one for $1169.10 .

Exellent wall mount Very well made wall mount and very easy to install. The "catalog" size book of instructions looks overwhelming but is not.

BRAVIA Engine Video Processing System BRAVIA S-Series LCD televisions use Sony's BRAVIA Engine full digital video
processor for crisp and clear images. Several special picture enhancement technologies are integrated into the processor to create better gradations with more detail, enhance contrast, and dynamically improve color performance. > Digital Noise Reduction Circuits: Reduces block noise and mosquito noise by using pixel-level filtering to reproduce a clean and clear picture. And Motion Vector Noise Reduction reduces just the noise in the video signal for video further reducing unwanted noise and blur artifacts. > Digital Contrast Enhancer circuit: Improves contrast by enhancing all areas from dark to bright in parallel with texture control providing a three dimensional picture. > Color Reality signal processing enables the expression of all the colors of life in vivid detail for dark and bright scenes. Details in dark areas of the picture are there, just like they are supposed to be.
Live Color Creation (featuring WCG-CCFL) Live Color Creation is a special Sony function that achieves precise, wide color
reproduction using a combination of advanced chroma signal processing algorithms. A special wide color gamut backlight (WCGCCFL) is coupled with Sonys Live Color Creation circuitry. The benefit is clear blues, natural greens and overall vibrant colors in all scenes.

Xross Media Bar (XMB ) On-Screen Menu System Xross Media Bar is Sonys Emmy Award winning on-screen navigation that
provides quick access to various set up functions and features. For instance selecting different types of media is made fun and easy by scrolling horizontally across icons until you find the type of media you are looking for. After selecting the media type, a list of its content appears as vertical thumbnails. Key set up menus and features work the same way. The main benefit of the XMB is that users can navigate through on-screen menus without taking their eyes off of their TV.
DMe Compatibility DMe compatibility allows the connection and operation of a whole new category of products that is being
developed by Sony (sold separately). The first of these products is the optional BRAVIA Internet Video Link module.
BRAVIA Theatre Sync BRAVIA Theatre Sync reduces the hassle and time consuming job of powering up, changing the
signal routing, and adjusting other functions to the simple push of one button. All you need to do is to connect BRAVIA Theatre Sync capable products to each other via one HDMI cable. The rest is easy. For instance, the One Push Play function activates by touching the play button on the remote and BRAVIA Theatre Sync takes over from there. The BRAVIA Home Theatre System and TV turn on. The DVD input on the BRAVIA Theatre system and TV activates. The TV mutes. And finally the DVD plays. There are two other BRAVIA BRAVIA Theatre Sync functions - One-Push Theatre Settings, which provides optimal picture and sound settings for movies and OnePush System Shut Down for turning off the entire home entertainment system.
BRAVIA Internet Video Link The first DMe product to be introduced to the market is the DMX-NV1 BRAVIA Internet Video Link
module (sold separately). The DMX-NV1 can stream available Internet video from select content providers directly to your TV with a broadband connection3 without the need for a PC.
S-Force Front Surround S-Force Front Surround is a virtual surround sound experience made possible using just two front
speakers in select BRAVIA models. To accomplish this, Sony spent several years studying how our ears work. By understanding exactly how we recognize the origin, direction, volume and timing differences in sound right and left ear, Sony was able to create complex audio processing that delivers dynamic virtual surround sound without the need to bounce sound off walls and back to the listener.

Stop using it and ask your dealer or Sony service center to exchange it. s Do not place the TV where the power cord is subject to wear or abuse. s Do not pinch, bend, or twist the cord excessively. The core lines may be bared and cut, causing a short-circuit, and resulting in a fire or an electric shock. s Do not convert or damage the power cord. s Do not allow anything to rest on or roll over the power cord. s Do not move the TV with the power cord plugged in. s Keep the power cord away from heat sources. s When you disconnect the AC power cord, disconnect it from the wall outlet first. s Be sure to grasp the plug when disconnecting the power cord. Wall outlet

The TV set with a three-wire grounding type AC power cord plug must be connected to an AC power socket outlet with a protective earthing connection. Do not use a poor fitting outlet. Insert the plug fully into the outlet. If it is loose, it may cause arcing and result in a fire. Contact your electrician to have the outlet changed.

Wiring

When connecting cables, be sure to unplug the AC power cord for your safety. Take care not to catch your feet on the cables. It may damage the TV set.

Electric shock

Do not touch the AC power cord or the TV with a wet hand. If you plug/unplug the AC power cord from the TV with a wet hand, it may cause electric shock.

Lightning storms

For added protection for this TV during a lightning storm, or when it is left unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna. This will prevent damage to the TV due to lightning and power line surges.

When not in use

If you will not be using the TV set for several days, the TV set should be disconnected from the AC power outlet for environmental and safety reasons. The TV set is not disconnected from the AC power source when the TV set is switched off. To disconnect the TV set completely, pull the plug from the AC power outlet.

Overloading

This TV set is designed to operate on a 120 - 240 V AC supply only. Take care not to connect too many appliances to the same AC power outlet as this could result in a fire or an electric shock.

Optional equipment

2 Attach the support belt to the Table-Top Stand
with the securing screw (supplied) using a coin, etc.
3 Adjust the length by pulling the support belt
toward you while holding the Table-Top Stand.
Be sure to take measures to prevent the TV from toppling over and causing injury. The supplied wood screw may not be used depending on the type of TV stand. In this case, or when the securing strength is not enough, use commercial screws 1/8 to 3/16 inch (3 to 4 mm) diameter to fit to the TV stand. Consult your dealer about the types of screw(s).
Preparation for Wall-Mounting
This TV can be installed on a wall by using a WallMount Bracket (sold separately). Before mounting the TV on a wall, the Table-Top Stand must be removed from the TV.
Be sure to store the removed screws and Table-Top Stand in a safe place until you are ready to reattach the Table-Top Stand. Keep the screws away from small children. For bracket installation, refer to the instruction guide provided by the Wall-Mount Bracket model for your TV. Sufficient expertise is required in installing this TV, especially to determine the strength of the wall for withstanding the TVs weight. For product protection and safety reasons, Sony strongly recommends that you use the Wall-Mount Bracket model designed for your TV and the wallmounting of your TV should be performed by a Sony dealer or licensed contractor.

Do not remove the Table-Top Stand for any reason other than to wall-mount the TV.
Follow the simple steps below to remove the Table-Top Stand:
1 Disconnect all the cables from the TV. 2 Gently lay the TV, face down, onto a level and
stable surface covered with a thick and soft cloth. Make sure the Table-Top Stand is hanging over the edge.

Condition

Explanation/Solution

No sound/Noisy sound

Good picture, no sound Check the volume control. Press MUTING or VOL + so that Muting disappears from the screen (page 24). Disconnect your headphones. Set Speakers to TV Speakers in the Audio Options settings (see page 34). If it is set to Audio System, sound is not output from the TVs speakers regardless of the TVs volume control. Make sure that the antenna is connected using a 75-ohm coaxial cable. Keep the antenna cable away from other connecting cords. To avoid TV interference, make sure to use an undamaged antenna cable. Confirm the PC is correctly connected to the TV with either the PC IN (with an HD15 cable) or with the HDMI IN. Ensure the output signal from the PC is one of the formats listed on page 18. Turn the PC off. Confirm the PC connection and restart the PC. Plug and play will auto-detect the TV and correctly set up PC timing. Verify PC Power Management is activated (see page 40). Adjust the resolution (see page 18). Adjust Pitch and Phase. The current Wide Mode setting is automatically replaced with the 4:3 Default setting when you change the channel or video input, if 4:3 Default in the Screen settings is set to other than Off. If you want to lock in Wide Mode selected with WIDE on the remote control, set 4:3 Default to Off in the Screen settings (see page 32). Check the Auto Wide option in the Screen settings (see page 33). The picture gets smaller during the commercials, this is due to the method the provider broadcasts their contents. When HD content channels switch to SD definition content (commercials), the picture may be small with a black border. You have selected a text option and no text is available (see page 36). To turn off this feature, set the CC Display option to Off. If you were trying to select closed captioning, select CC1 instead of Text1-4. Some wide screen programs are filmed in aspect ratios that are greater than 16:9 (this is especially common with theatrical releases). Your TV will show these programs with black bands at the top and bottom of the screen. For more details, check the documentation that came with your DVD (or contact your program provider). Programs in 4:3 aspect ratio will have bands on left and right sides of the screen.
