BRAVIA Engine PRO Full Digital Video Processor Presenting the next evolution of the BRAVIA Engine.BRAVIA
Engine PRO. Sony improved on the great benefits of the BRAVIA Engine by adding a picture quality enhancement circuit called Digital Reality Creation Multi-function v2.5. DRC-MFv2.5 now has the added ability to process interlace, progressive and even HD video signals and because it has increased processing power over previous DRC-MF circuits, it can do its processing and output them to 1080p with the least amount of conversions avoiding degradation. (Native 1080p input signals are not processed through DRC-MFv2.5.) Add to this the crisp details, outstanding contrast, eye popping colors, and dramatically fine detail reproduction that DRC-MF circuitry is known for. And the best part of all is that DRC-MFv2.5 is user adjustable according to the video source. All of this helps define the reason why people want Sony TVs to begin with - unparalleled picture quality.
Full HD 1080 There are a lot of ways to define high-definition but BRAVIA Full HD means youre getting the best resolution
that high-definition has to offer consumers. Full HD 1080 means native 1920 x 1080 pixels and 1080p video inputs. Your lifestyle demands the best in high-definition and with BRAVIA Full HD 1080 products you get it.
1920 x 1080 Panel Resolution When it comes to high-definition TV the pinnacle of performance is achieved by using
native 1920 x 1080 progressive display panels. Full HD 1920 x 1080 panel resolution with over 2 million pixels (more than twice that of 720p HDTV) is exactly what you need to reproduce the 1080p content that can be delivered by our cutting edge 1080p Blu-ray disc player. And working with BRAVIA Engine PRO everything from standard definition and high definition is upconverted to 1080p for a picture so real its like youre actually there.
x.v.Color Bravia HDTVs performance have now advanced to the point that the color range can be limited due to limitations
in the original video source, rather than the TV. Thanks to the adoption of a newly approved international color standard, xvYCC, which Sony participated in creating, the color space has been greatly expanded. 1.8 times as many natural colors as existing HDTV signals will now be faithfully reproduced. x.v.Color is the name Sony has chosen to promote video products that include xvYCC capability. Sony video products such as select Handycam camcorder models and PlayStation 3 video gaming consoles that include this capability along with select BRAVIA models are at the core of a complete HD solution designed to offer consumers the advantage from source to display. Colors can now be even more accurately reproduced and appear natural as they are in the natural world.
10-bit Processing and 10-bit Display While its great to state that a TV is capable of creating billions of colors its a whole
lot better when you have a display that can actually display them. Thats the logic behind Sonys 10-bit processor and 10-bit display. Sony follows 10-bit processing with a true 10-bit panel, allowing 64 times the levels of expression. This means that you will see smoother transitions from color to color and subtle color changes faithfully reproduced versus 8-bit panels.
Motionflow 120Hz High Frame Rate Technology Achieving smooth, natural motion reproduction starts with the right
performance characteristics such as the ultra fast panel response times our BRAVIA HD LCD TVs have. Taking motion performance to the next level requires innovation and expertise. Enter Sonys Motionflow High Frame Rate technology. Motionflow doubles the amount of frames from 60fps to 120fps and does it the right way by using real-time calculation of every single frame of video to create entire new frames of information. The results are spectacular and unlock a new level of motion reproduction. Motion performance is smooth and natural; movies are free of judder.
Live Color Creation System Decades of television know how allow us to realize that an LCD TV is more than just the panel;
its actually part of a system. Exceptional picture quality starts with combining carefully chosen components and circuits along with spending hundreds of hours analyzing and adjusting them for optimal picture quality. Among these circuits are the color creation and processing functions. Thats what Live Color Creation is all about. It starts with the BRAVIA Engine PRO video processing system, which enhances primary colors and corrects half-tone colors for natural overall color.

TRILUMINOS LED Back Light Sony's TRILUMINOS LED backlight is used to create a pure white light by emitting pure red,
green and blue light allowing for the creation of a wider spectrum of color (102% of the NTSC color gamut) and produces colors like you see them in the real world - inviting, vivid and natural.

Wall outlet

The TV set with a three-wire grounding type AC power cord plug must be connected to an AC power socket outlet with a protective earthing connection. Do not use a poor fitting outlet. Insert the plug fully into the outlet. If it is loose, it may cause arcing and result in a fire. Contact your electrician to have the outlet changed.

Wiring

When wiring cables, be sure to unplug the AC power cord for your safety. Take care not to catch your feet on the cables. It may damage the TV set.

Electric shock

Do not touch the AC power cord or the TV with a wet hand. If you plug/unplug the AC power cord from the TV with a wet hand, it may cause electric shock.

Lightning storms

For added protection for this TV during a lightning storm, or when it is left unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna. This will prevent damage to the receiver due to lightning and power line surges.
When not in use 13) Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time. 14) Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

Never use strong solvents such as thinner or benzine for cleaning. If using a chemically pretreated cloth, please follow the instruction provided on the package. The ventilation holes can accumulate dust over time. To ensure proper ventilation, we recommend removing the dust periodically (once a month) using a vacuum cleaner.
Small accessories removal and fittable
Keep small accessories out of childrens reach.

ANTENNAS

Outdoor antenna grounding
If an outdoor antenna is installed, follow the precautions below. An outdoor antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines or other electric light or power circuits, or where it can come in contact with such power lines or circuits. WHEN INSTALLING AN OUTDOOR ANTENNA SYSTEM, EXTREME CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO KEEP FROM CONTACTING SUCH POWER LINES OR CIRCUITS AS CONTACT WITH THEM IS ALMOST INVARIABLY FATAL. Be sure the antenna system is grounded so as to provide some protection against voltage surges and built-up static charges. Section 810 of the National Electrical Code (NEC) in U.S.A. and Section 54 of the Canadian Electrical Code in Canada provides information with respect to proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge unit, size of grounding conductors, location of antenna discharge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode.

MAGNETIC INFLUENCE

This TV contains a strong magnet in the speaker unit that generates a magnetic field. Keep any items susceptible to magnetic fields away from the speaker.
If a snapping or popping sound from the TV is continuous or frequent while the TV is operating, unplug the TV and consult your dealer or service technician. It is normal for some TVs to make occasional snapping or popping sounds, particularly when being turned on or off.

Some wide screen programs are filmed in aspect ratios that are greater than 16:9 (this is especially common with theatrical releases). Your TV will show these programs with black bands at the top and bottom of the screen. For more details, check the documentation that came with your DVD (or contact your program provider). The compression used by certain digital broadcasts and DVDs may cause your TVs screen to display less detail than usual, or cause artifacts (small blocks or dots, pixelations) to appear on your screen. This is due to your TVs large screen and ability to show very fine detail, and is normal for certain digitally recorded programs. Adjust the Reality/Clarity in the DRC Palette setting (page 33) to optimize the picture while viewing these sources. Check the polarity of the batteries or replace the batteries. Keep the remote control sensor area clear from obstacles. If you are using the TV to change channels, first press TV (FUNCTION) once, and the TV indicator lights up. If you are using another device to change channels, be sure you have not inadvertently switched your TV from the channel 3 or 4 setting. For example, if you are using your cable box to change channels, be sure to press SAT/CABLE (FUNCTION) once, and the SAT/CABLE indicator lights up. If you replaced the batteries to the remote recently, the code numbers for the video equipment may need to be reset. There may be more than one code for the equipment that you are attempting to operate. There is a possibility that some non-Sony equipment cannot be operated by your Sony TV remote. You may need to use the equipments original remote control.
