Ok as long as it works!!! I am now sending for my second replacement refurbished unit from Sony - that makes three in total that I have owned.

"It worked great for a while - until it was nonreturnable to the store. Now will only play certain CDs, the other skip and pop and sound horrendous.

This is a great CD player that will change your life. THis unit skips on nearly every disk I own. Brand new. Biggest waste of money ever. Skips on every cd I own, including brand new ones.

Great product! Though it is a little bit bulky, the Sony Megastorage juke box works great with in-ceiling speakers.

"After my old Technics 110+1 cd player quit playing, research lead me to buy this model and I have not regretted it for a minute.
kebbelj 5:24am on Friday, April 9th, 2010
My first one (400 disc vers) worked great for years - buying another & hoping for the best! I had the 400 disc version for many years - maybe 6. A decade plus of usage and no problems I bought my first Sony Megachanger in 1998, and have purchased 6 or 7 more units since then.

Holds 300 disks Broke in first month good features, good capacity, I like the Hitlist feature lost manual and pain to program from memory

You guys had the BEST price around.....most places are charging almost double. I am very satisfied. I would highly recommend this unit. On top of having immediate access to 300 discs it is a real space saver.

"So glad I read reviews here and went with the Pioneer 300 changer. Mine works great. "I have always preferred Sony products over the years but this product has been a big turn off. The product has destroyed several Cds.

Upgrade Your ROWE/AMI Vinyl Jukebox to CD
In Minutes Without Any Modifications !

RMC-SONY

The RMC-SONY is a CD conversion adapter for ROWE/AMI vinyl and vinyl/CD combo jukeboxes. It was designed to operate with any jukebox that uses the 6-08870-xx / 4-07773-xx Computer or the 4-07221-xx Mechanism Control unit. This includes models CTI-2, R-84 through R-94, RI-4, RI-5, Prelude, Tempo, TempoDisco, Jewel, Starburst, Starlight, Starwood, Blue Magic, Gold Magic, Romantica, Golden 7/8/89/90/91/92, Sapphire 7/8/89/90/91/92, LaCombo, Bubbler, ComboStar and RoweStar. The RMC-SONY connects to any 50 to 400 disc Sony CD Mega-Changer with the S-Link/Control A1 interface jack. In addition to vinyl, the RMC-SONY also replaces the six or ten disc CD player in jukeboxes having the CD combo feature. The RMC-SONY works with the ROWE/AMI Central Control Computer by simulating the operation of the record mechanism. This tricks the jukebox into thinking it is still playing records, but instead, its playing CDs. The jukebox operates exactly as it did before, but now with superb audio quality. No more scratches, pops or rumble and no more worrying about worn records or stylus and cartridge replacements.

Installing the CD Upgrade Kit
Pictured here is a 50+1 CD changer Sony Model CDP-CX55
Unplug the jukebox from the outlet. Remove the two hold-down bolts from the left and right side of the record changer. Disconnect the AUDIO CABLE, POWER CABLE and CONTROL CABLE. Grasp the record changer at the bottom rails and lift out.
Connect one end of the Sony CD cable to the S-Link or Control-A1 jack at the back of the CD changer. Set mode switch to CD 1. Connect the RCA audio plugs from the Passive-Inverse RIAA Filter to the Analog or Line Out jacks at the back of the CD changer. Connect the other end to the 4-pin phono input audio cable.
On the Mechanism Converter board, Insert the POWER, MECH CONTROL, and SONY CD CONTROL cables. If your jukebox supports the CD Combo feature, plug in the P5 CD COMBO cable. Make sure the keyed or blank pin is at the #17 hole position on the Mech Control Connector.
Plug the other end of the P5 CD COMBO cable into the P5 DATA connector at the Central Control Computer. The CD Combo feature was optionally available on R90 through R94 jukebox models. You can add this feature by replacing the CCC EPROM program with a combo support version.

The CD Setup Disc

Included with your RMC-SONY upgrade kit is an audio CD that simply contains 99 tracks of silence. This is used to turn on the Song Programming mode for vinyl setup or to perform operations. To select Song Program or perform an operation, insert the CD setup disc into a disc number position. See Setup Functions for disc # operations. Select that disc and press the PLAY button on the CD changer. The setup disc contains silent tracks so nothing will be heard. If the function was successful, the Mechanism Converter will respond by stopping play. If the Song Program Mode was selected, then the IDX LED on the Mechanism Converter board will turn on and remain on.

Programming Vinyl Record Selections
To program individual record selections, you must be in Song Program Mode (IDX LED on). Place the setup disc into CD position 46 then press PLAY. The disc will stop and the IDX LED will remain on. If your using the CD combo feature, CDs 1 to 6 (or 10) should not be used for vinyl selections. Select a desired song and start play. While the song is playing, make a selection on the jukebox to which this song will be assigned to. When the selection is successfully programmed, the song will stop playing. Continue selecting the next song play and making jukebox selections until all desired songs have been programmed. All programming is stored in memory which is unaffected by a loss of power. Turn off the Song Program Mode by pressing the POWER button on the CD changer.

CD Combo Programming

CD combo initialization is performed by the jukebox Central Control Computer. The Mechanism Converter translates the combo commands to Sony CD changer commands. Depending on your setup configuration, the first six (feature 30) or ten (feature 31) CDs in the Sony changer will be assigned to combo selections. CD Initialization To perform the CD initialization, place the jukebox service switch into the SERVICE position then enter 777 on the keypad. When initialization starts, four dashes will appear on the CCC display. When the initialization is complete, the CCC display will go blank. Playing CD Combo Selections On a combo jukebox, CD's are selected by entering a four digit number. The first digit is always "5" for CD selections. The second digit is the disc number minus one. To select disc "1", you would enter "0". The last two digits are the track # of the song you wish to play. For example, if you wanted to play disc 3, track 9, you would enter "5209" on the keypad.
