Holds more mAh than the standard sony batteries and costs a quarter of the price! The charger is great too, gave that away as a gift.

I bought this sony camera when I was seventeen, thus the main reason (foolish of course) I picked it out was because of the cool color options. I just recently came off of a cruise and on every island I stopped.

I have had several film rangefinders, SLR-s, digital compacts, a super-zoom and two DSLR-s. the cheapest sony point-and shoot camera on the market for now, easy for use, new SMILE shooting option which is quite interesting.

It automatically takes pictures in the smile mode(AWESOME). The picture quality is GREAT. Even though it says the it only has 7.2 Mega Pixels. I ordered the Sony DSC W120 through Dell. Service and delivery were super! I love the camera very compact and can be slipt into your pocket. I bought the 2g memory stick which is great (600+) pictures.

I lost my Sony charger and was only finding expensive replacement options. Thankfully I found this offer on Overstock. I had been throughly frustrated while looking for a battery replacements for my digital cameras. THIS IS REALLY A GREAT PRODUCT, I CAN CHARGE MY CYBERSHOT WHILE IN THE CAR ON THE GO. AND THE CHARGER IS SMALL ENOUGH TO FIT IN MY PURSE.

Notes on using the camera
[ Internal memory and Memory Stick Duo back up
Do not turn off the camera, remove the battery pack, or remove the Memory Stick Duo while the access lamp is lit. Otherwise, the internal memory data or Memory Stick Duo may be damaged. Be sure to make a backup copy to protect your data.
[ Notes on the LCD screen and lens
The LCD screen is manufactured using extremely high-precision technology so over 99.99% of the pixels are operational for effective use. However, some tiny black and/or bright dots (white, red, blue or green) may appear on the LCD screen. These dots are a normal result of the manufacturing process, and do not affect the recording. When the battery level becomes low, the lens might stop moving. Insert a charged battery pack and turn on the camera again.
[ Notes on recording/playback
Before you start recording, make a trial recording to make sure that the camera is working correctly. The camera is neither dust-proof, nor splashproof, nor water-proof. Read Precautions (page 35) before operating the camera. Avoid exposing the camera to water. If water enters inside the camera, a malfunction may occur. In some cases, the camera cannot be repaired. Do not aim the camera at the sun or other bright light. It may cause the malfunction of the camera. Do not use the camera near a location that generates strong radio waves or emits radiation. Otherwise, the camera may not properly record or play back images. Using the camera in sandy or dusty locations may cause malfunctions. If moisture condensation occurs, remove it before using the camera (page 35). Do not shake or strike the camera. It may cause a malfunction and you may not be able to record images. Furthermore, the recording media may become unusable or image data may be damaged. Clean the flash surface before use. The heat of flash emission may cause dirt on the flash surface to become discolored or to stick to the flash surface, resulting in insufficient light emission.
[ On image data compatibility
The camera conforms with DCF (Design rule for Camera File system) universal standard established by JEITA (Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association). Sony does not guarantee that the camera will play back images recorded or edited with other equipment, or that other equipment will play back images recorded with the camera.

[ Warning on copyright

Television programs, films, videotapes, and other materials may be copyrighted. Unauthorized recording of such materials may be contrary to the provisions of the copyright laws.
[ No compensation for damaged content or recording failure
Sony cannot compensate for failure to record or loss or damage of recorded content due to a malfunction of the camera or recording media, etc.

Notes on using the camera
Notes on the types of Memory Stick that you can use (not supplied) Memory Stick Duo:
You can use a Memory Stick Duo with the camera.

Carl Zeiss lens

The camera is equipped with a Carl Zeiss lens which is capable of reproducing sharp images with excellent contrast. The lens for the camera has been produced under a quality assurance system certified by Carl Zeiss in accordance with the quality standards of Carl Zeiss in Germany.

Memory Stick:

You cannot use a Memory Stick with the camera.
Notes on the LCD screen and lens
The LCD screen is manufactured using extremely high-precision technology so over 99.99% of the pixels are operational for effective use. However, some tiny black and/or bright dots (white, red, blue or green) may appear on the LCD screen. These dots are a normal result of the manufacturing process, and do not affect the recording.
Other memory cards cannot be used.
For details on Memory Stick Duo, see page 120.
When using a Memory Stick Duo with Memory Stick compatible equipment
You can use the Memory Stick Duo by inserting it into the Memory Stick Duo Adaptor (not supplied).
Black, white, red, blue or green points

Memory Stick Duo Adaptor

Notes on the battery pack
Charge the battery pack (supplied) before using the camera for the first time. You can charge the battery pack even if it is not completely discharged. In addition, even if the battery pack is not fully charged, you can use the partially charged capacity of the battery pack as is. If you do not intend to use the battery pack for a long time, use up the existing charge and remove it from the camera, then store it in a cool, dry place. This is to maintain the battery pack functions. For details on the usable battery pack, see page 122.
Exposing the LCD screen or the lens to direct sunlight for long periods may cause malfunctions. Be careful when placing the camera near a window or outdoors. Do not press against the LCD screen. The screen may be discolored and that may cause a malfunction. Images may trail across on the LCD screen in a cold location. This is not a malfunction. Be careful not to bump the movable lens, and be careful not to apply force to it.
The images used in this Handbook
The images used as examples in this Handbook are reproduced images, and are not actual images shot using the camera.

Subject blur

Cause Even though the camera is steady, the subject moves during the exposure so the subject looks blurred when the shutter button is pressed.
What you can do to reduce the blurring Select (High Sensitivity) mode in Scene Selection. Select a higher ISO sensitivity to make the shutter speed faster, and press the shutter button before the subject moves.
Notes The anti-blur function is enabled in the factory default settings so that camera shake is reduced automatically. However, this is not effective for subject blur (DSC-W120/W125/W130 only). Besides, camera shake and subject blur occur frequently under low-light or slow shutter speed conditions, such as those encountered in (Twilight) mode or (Twilight Portrait) mode. In that case, shoot with the above tips in mind.
Exposure Adjusting the light intensity
You can create various images by adjusting the exposure and the ISO sensitivity. Exposure is the amount of light that the camera will receive when you release the shutter.

Exposure:

Shutter speed = Length of time the camera receives light Aperture = Size of the opening allowing light to pass through ISO sensitivity (Recommended Exposure Index) = Recording sensitivity
Overexposure = too much light Whitish image Correct exposure
The exposure is automatically set to the proper value in the auto adjustment mode. However, you can adjust it manually using the functions below. Adjusting EV: Allows you to adjust the exposure determined by the camera (page 49). Metering Mode: Allows you to change the part of the subject to be measured to determine the exposure (page 50).
Underexposure = too little light Darker image
Adjusting ISO Sensitivity (Recommended Exposure Index)
ISO sensitivity is a speed rating for recording media that incorporates an image sensor that receives light. Even when the exposure is the same, images differ depending on the ISO sensitivity. To adjust the ISO sensitivity, see page 49. High ISO sensitivity Records a bright image even in dark locations while increasing shutter speed to reduce blur. However, the image tends to become noisy. Low ISO sensitivity Records a smoother image. However, when the exposure is insufficient, the image may become darker.
On the effects of lighting
The apparent color of the subject is affected by the lighting conditions.
Example: The color of an image affected by light sources
Weather/lighting Characteristics of light
Daylight White (standard)

Cloudy Bluish

Fluorescent Green-tinged

Incandescent Reddish

The color tones are adjusted automatically in the auto adjustment mode. However, you can adjust color tones manually with [White Balance] (page 53).
On image quality and image size
A digital image is made up of a collection of small dots called pixels. If it contains a large number of pixels, the image becomes large, it takes up more memory, and the image is displayed in fine detail. Image size is shown by the number of pixels. Although you cannot see the differences on the screen of the camera, the fine detail and data processing time differ when the image is printed or displayed on a computer screen.

On image data stored in the internal memory
We recommend that you copy (back up) data without error using one of the following methods.
To copy (back up) data on a Memory Stick Duo
Prepare a Memory Stick Duo with sufficient free capacity, then perform the procedure explained in [Copy] (page 67).
To copy (back up) data on a hard disk of your computer
Perform the procedure on pages 87, 88 or 91, 92 without a Memory Stick Duo inserted in the camera.
You cannot copy image data on a Memory Stick Duo to the internal memory. By connecting the camera to a computer with a cable for multi-use terminal, you can copy data stored in the internal memory to a computer. However you cannot copy data on a computer to the internal memory.
